All Ghost could do was nod. The lift headed down to the bottom level just like April had instructed him. The ride took a few moments and when the doors opened he poked his head out. There wasn't anyone around. He grabbed his weapon and started to move down around the vehicles towards the tunnel.

And now Winter Fortress, Part IV

"Ghost, can you hear me...?" April's voice echoed in his ears once again. He was in the open and couldn't really talk so he looked around and noticed a truck about 50 ways away from him. He ran to it and ducked in the back of it. "Yeah, I'm here. Do you want to tell me what's going on now...?"

"Give me a moment." April said. There was silence again. Ghost was starting to feel like she might be playing with him. He wanted to know what exactly she meant by saying that the master mind behind the weapon was in the next building. During his briefing he was told that they were going to use the already active warheads, no one had mentioned anything about a new type of weapon being here. This was a Disposal facility after all.

"Here is the deal Ghost. You have probably been told during your briefing that the Sons of the Patriots plan on using the warheads that are being stored here. That is true; however there isn't an active silo here that is capable of launching a missile. However, this is more than an ordinary Nuclear Disposal Facility."

"During the past three years DARPA and Arms Tech have been working on a joint black list project to create a new launch system that is capable from launching anywhere in the world in order to reach any target in the world. Three weeks ago it was reported that the project was complete and it was entering the testing phase. Three days ago, first of the simulations was run and it had passed in all of the categories."

"A new launch system...?" Ghost repeated what she said in a puzzling manner. He could understand the need and the advantage of such a system.

"Yes, Generation Unrestricted Nuclear Drive Assault Module, or for short was it's known around here GUNDAM. It's basically a walking tank that is capable of firing from any terrain. It can fire standing or while it's moving." April explained.

"That's why the Sons of the Patriots decided to take over the facility now." Ghost said. He moved to the edge and poked his head outside the truck to make sure that no one was around.

"That is correct. A Special Forces unit had been send here to protect the VIPs during the testing; however their leader Gene had other ideas. That is the same unit that I had been assigned to work under cover. I was unaware of the plans until we came here. It seemed that they didn't trust me, that is why I had to convince them that I had betrayed you. I need to keep my cover."

Ghost didn't say anything in response. He could understand why she did it but that didn't mean that he liked it. His head was still hurting from the blow that he had taken.

"I need you to reach the designer of the weapon; he is in the second building on level 3. There is a lab there that he has been forced to continue his work. As soon as he is finished with his work they will kill him so you need to hurry. He should also be able to tell you how to stop the weapon from launching. His name is David Campbell."

"Understood...What kind of resistance should I expect?" Ghost asked. He wanted to know what to expect as he got in further. He had already had enough surprises so he didn't want to have anymore.

"It should be minimal in the next building. They don't expect anyone to get in that far, however it's very heavy around the weapon itself you might need a distraction once you get that far in."

"And what are you going to be doing?" Ghost asked.

"The same thing I have been. I don't think they still fully trust me, plus once they realize that you are gone they might come after me again. And at that point the security will go up so make sure to keep both of your eyes and ears open."

"Be careful." Ghost said with a bit of a softer tone. He was concerned for her. She might have set him up but he still didn't want anything to happen to her. They were on a same team here after all.

"Don't worry about me. I have been in stickier situations. I can take care of myself." April responded.

"Alright. I'm going to head to the next building."

"Good luck. I will contact you if I have any further information. We should keep our communications to a minimum as they might be able to intercept them."

"Understood...I'll let you know when I reach the designer." Ghost said. He once again poked his head out looking around to make sure that there wasn't anyone around. Once the coast was clear he jumped out of the truck hugging the wall he started on his way down towards the other building.

"Be careful, Ghost..." April said before cutting transmission.
