Then noticed forklift located near the lift, so when the guard moved back down he ran to the forklift and then jumped inside the lift. He quickly pressed the button as the doors closed and headed up. He had laid down towards the back of the lift so no one could see him. As the lift moved up and out of the range of the guards' vision he moved towards the center of it kneeling down and waited to reach the top.

And now Winter Fortress, Part II

Ghost had moved from the center of the lift over to the side as the lift approached. It was to give him the best tactical advantage in case there were guards at the top waiting for whoever was making their way up. When the lift reached the doors opened and Ghost waited for a few moments. There wasn't any movement in the area. He poked his head around the corner looking at each side of the lift only to see that there weren't any guards in the area. This was very good indeed he thought to himself as he slowly sneaked out of the lift and dashed towards a wall. He ducked behind it.

He remembered the blue prints of the fortress but he knew that going through the main entrance into the building wasn't going to be an option. He needed to find another way. After poking his head around the corner he did notice that there were in total three guards at the front door, another guard to the left of him and another one to the right of him. He needed a distraction of some sort.

From where he was looking he could see a vent that possibly leads into the building, which was going to be his way in. And he was in luck as there was a truck parked right near the vent so he could sneak in without being noticed by the three guards that were in front of the main door. However, he would have to deal with the one that was located to his left. While in a crouching position he moved along the wall until he got to the edge, when the guard started his way down towards the truck Ghost ran across the snowy surface and ducked behind a storage container.

He sat there waiting; he knew that the guard would be passing by him in matter of seconds. It was almost like clockwork the guard was returning back down the path and when he passed the container Ghost sneaked up behind him. He put him a headlock cutting the man's airways. After a few moments of struggling the man was dead. Ghost slowly laid him down on the ground and hid him behind a container. He grabbed an M16 from the man along with a 9mm pistol and a grenade than headed over to the truck.

He got the vent off quickly and crawled inside it. It was a tight fit but he managed somehow. A very dark narrow corridor leads him to a light. It was to the inside of the facility. He laid there watching for any guards. He noticed two tanks parked in the inside of the huge warehouse looking room. He pushed the vent cover off and crawled out. He did notice two guards at the far end. So he quietly moved along the way and over to the lift.

According to the file she was undercover as a doctor. Ghost had to get down to the third basement level where the infirmary was located. He assumed that is where she would be. So when he noticed that no one was looking his way he quickly ran across over to the lift. When the lift arrived he jumped inside. To his surprise the lift only went down to the first basement level. He tried to remember the blue prints and he was pretty sure that he did. There wasn't any other lift on this floor.

So, he pressed a button for the first basement level. The doors closed and he headed down. He was hiding to the side with his rifle ready to open fire. After a couple of moments he poked his head out. It was empty. He stepped out and there was a long corridor leading down. He started to make his way across down passing a few doors along the way. The first door was the security office. The next two read that it was the cell block one and cell block two. He would have tried the doors but each of them had a number on them and a slot for a keycard, something he didn't have.

So he continued down the corridor, he approached the corner and stopped. He poked his head around just a bit and saw two guards standing there guarding another door. It seemed to be a lift door. He needed a way to pass the guards. So after a few moments of thinking he came up with a plan. He knocked on the wall and waited.

"Did you hear that...?" Guard #1 asked.

"Yeah, I did." Guard #2 responded.

"I'm going to check it out..." Guard #1 said as he left his post at the door and headed down the corridor towards where Ghost was waiting for him.

Ghost could hear the two guards talking than one of them starts walking towards him. As the guard came to the edge, Ghost quickly grabbed him and pulled him closer to him elbowing the man in the face. After a few moments the guard was knocked out on the floor.

"Hey! What's going on?" Guard #2 asked.

There wasn't any answer, and he didn't bother calling backup as he left his post just like the other guard did and went to investigate. When he came around the corner there wasn't anyone in the corridor. The guard was puzzled so he started down the corridor.

Ghost had found a keycard on the guard he knocked out and grabbed him into cell block two. So when the guard started down Ghost waited for him to pass the door than he jumped out and grabbed the guard and just like he did the other one he knocked this out as well. He had dragged both men into a cell of their own and locked them. There was a really horrible smell in one of the cells so he went to take a look.

There was a dead body inside. He pulled away as the smell was really getting to him. It was extremely disgusting. So he turned around and examined the rest of the cell block. He noticed a room with cameras. He went over to them and looked over at what they were looking. It was a few different locations across the base and then he noticed one which was pointed at a science lab of sort. It was April inside sitting in front of a desk in a lab coat.

He quickly pulled the map to show him where exactly that was and then left the cell block heading to the lift. It was going good so far. It didn't look like they had noticed that the guards were missing so he called the lift, and when it arrived he was surprised by what he found. There was a guard inside. He quickly jumped on him. The two men struggled in the lift, each had their advantages over the other at certain points in the fight but Ghost managed to come on top. He grabbed the man into the cell block and disabled the key slot than headed down in the lift.

Ghost had checked the cameras before leaving and knew that there wasn't going to be anyone along his route but he still moved with extreme caution down the corridor. He passed along the route a few hallways and doors each a lab of some sort until he came up to the door that he needed. He took a deep breath grabbing the door knob he slowly turned it. He noticed that April had her back to the door and was working on something. He stepped in slowly closing the door behind him without making a sound.

"Don't worry, I'm alone." April spoke as she put down a pen and turned around to face Ghost who was standing there caught red handed with his hand in the cookie jar.
