Shalie finished running the brush though her hair for tenth time and was finally sure the free falling lift air blown look was gone before she retrieved the bottle of scotch from her bag. It had cost her a pretty penny, but she didn't drink it often and it was well worth it.

One last look around her quarters and she headed for the lift, she stopped by a near by console to confirm which quarters were Delon's before boarding the lift. She smiled, she didn't know how long it would be before she stopped questioning the lift system. With a shake of her head she exited the lift when the doors parted and made her way to her destination. She was a few minutes early but tapped the chime just the same.

"Come in." Tovan called out from his bedroom that was located to the left side of his quarters. There was the living room area located straight ahead when you stepped inside the quarters and to the right was a dining table set up. There was also another desk nearby which was his work desk. On top rested a few PADDs stacked neatly. In the living room on the dining table was a candle located in the middle of the table and the lights were dimmed.

He didn't expect her to show up a few minutes early so he wasn't completely ready when she arrived. That is why he called for her to come in from the bedroom.

Shalie entered Delon's quarters as the doors opened. She set the bottle of amber liquid down on the dining room table as she passed into the living room. She took a moment too look around his quarters. Not only to get a better idea of who he was but just at the simple size difference. She could only imagine how nice it must be to have quarters to yoursefl. "Its just me..." she called as she leaned against the back of one of his chairs.

Tovan didn't respond right away. He was in process of drying off and putting on some different clothes, more comfortable clothes. When he stepped out he was dressed in a white t-shirt and a pair of black pants that looked like sweat pants but weren't. They were made out of a softer material. It was almost like a work out pair of pants. "I'm sorry to keep you." He said as he brought his hair together and pulled it back into a pony tail.

Shalie waved the apology off. "You keep apologizing for thing that you have no control over." She started with a laugh. "I have a bad habit of always being early...If you are early you are on time...if you are on time you are late...and if you are late..." She stopped and shook her head. "Well we won't go there." It had been a phrase that he father had used a lot when she was a kid, only he wasn't nice enough to forget the being late part and Shalie had the scars to prove it.

"I like being on time myself." Tovan sat with a gentle nod. "Now let me get some glasses and the bottle." He vanished through the other room in his quarters. After a couple of minutes he came back with two glasses and a bottle in his hand. Inside there was blue liquid. He placed them on the table and went for the candle. "Do you want regular lights or will this do?"

Shalie had watched as Delon disappeared and once he reemerged she had moved to stand by the table where the glasses were sitting. She looked at the candle and shrugged slightly. "I am not picky...whatever works for me." She said simply as shifted her weight from side to side.

"Candle it is." Tovan said as he took the cap from the bottle off. He lifted up one glass filing it up than placed it in front of her and did the same for his glass. He walked around to the sofa and took a seat looking at her, than at the candle and chuckled lightly. "This candle almost seems like a set up to set the mood." He looked at her. "I promise you that it's not."

Shalie picked up her glass and took as sip as Delon moved around his quarters. "Ah shucks.." She said with a snap of her fingers. "And here I was hoping..." She finished sarcastically as she moved to the chair across from him. She kinda plopped down but managed not to spill her drink, taking another sip and set the glass down on the table next to her.

It wasn't often that he allowed people into his quarters or to see him as relaxed as he was at the moment. He would probably regreat having this drink in the morning but for the time being it felt just right as he picked up the glass from the table and took a sip of the drink. "Mmm..." He smiled at her. "Well, after a few more of these, who knows..." He winked at her as he took another sip.

Shalie laughed as her fingertips made slow revolutions around the rim of the glass. She continued to toy with the glass and she watch Delon for a moment before retrieving the glass and taking a long sip of the liquid, enjoying the warming sensation as it moved though her almost as soon as she had swallowed. "I will keep that in mind..." She said with a tip of her glass.

Delon had taken a couple of more sips before his glass was completely empty. He chuckled lightly as he leaned forward and filled it up again. "The real reason behind the candle is that I like it a lot better than the lights that the quarters come with. I find it a lot more relaxing and mediate."

Shalie chuckled at the unsolicited explanation. "I have spent the last nine years with at least one roommate..." She said before raising the glass to her lips and taking a sip. "It has never been about what I like." It was one of the hazards of being enlisted, shared quarters. "But I will admit...I do like it."

"In my first year out of the Academy, I had to share quarters. It wasn't really that enjoyable experience. I am a bit of a neat freak as you can tell, and this person wasn't really all that concern with such things so as you can guess there was a lot of back and forth between us." Tovan brought his glass up to his lips and took another sip of the drink. "But lucky for me, after that year I have always had my own quarters."

"Lucky you..." Shalie said just prior to draining the remainder of her drink. She leaned forward with a grin on her face as she refilled her drink. "I have developed a skill that helps with the roommate thing...I spend as much time as I can away from my quarters and just crash when I get home." She smiled as she took a sip off her fresh drink.

"I wish I would have been able to master such a skill, but I am too stubborn at times for my own good not to mention I look at my quarters as a world of my own in which I can set up the environment to suit me. After a long day there aren't many things I enjoy more than coming into an environment in which is welcoming and suiting to my taste." Tovan looked at her. A chuckle escaped him, he felt as if he was getting just a bit too deep at the moment.

Shalie smiled as she listened to him talk. She had on occasion wondered how different life would be had she gone to the academy instead of running away. But she could never decide it if would have been worth it for a single room. She laughed at her own thought as she took another sip. "Well I have never had a place that felt like home...so it wasn't a big transition." It wasn't until the sentence was out that she hoped he wouldn't press the subject.

"Me either..." Delon sighed before taking a drink. He looked to the side a little bit. There was his grandmother that took care of him, but he never felt like he belonged anywhere. "I think that is why I like to make my own room the way I want it. Something that is mine, somewhere I belong..."

"Well that must be nice." She replied after finishing another sip. "I can understand even if I can't relate." She took another sip before sinking more into the chair. A brief thought of joining Delon on the couch went though her mind as she attempted to get comfortable in the small chair. She brushed it off, "So...to continue our conversation from earlier...if there anything else you are curious about? After our little adventure, I think you earned some more questions." She said with a small wink.

Tovan closed his eyes for a brief moment allowing the thoughts of his past to vanish for him mind as he brought his glass up and sipped from it. He opened his eyes and chuckled. "There is something I have always wanted to know. How far to the spots on a Trill female really go...?" He knew the answer to the question but he was in light mood and enjoying himself.

"Well..." Shalie said with a serious tone. "For that you would have to ask a trill...or spy on one in the shower." She allowed a smile to cross her lips. She knew she didn't need to be specific as to what she meant so she figured she would play along. She took another sip from her drink draining the contents before returning the glass to the table. She made no movement to refill it this time.

"That is such a shame that we don't have a Trill with us at the moment, but I must admit the idea of spying in the shower on them is sounding pretty tempting." Tovan looked at her. "I am sure we can install a camera without anyone noticing with both of our skills. We can always claim that there was a need to fix their shower."

Shalie laughed as she once again adjusted her position in her chair, this time tucking her boot beneath her. "You are on your own there...I don't really have a desire to spy." She responded easily. "Besides, Trills aren't exactly my type."

"Oh, I see. You don't want to be my partner in crime. I understand." Delon finished yet another glass of the ale. He leaned forward placing the glass on the table and pushed it towards the middle of the table signaling that he has had enough of it. "So, what exactly is your type?"

Shalie bit her lower lip for a moment as she pondered the question. She didn't have much of a preference, but for an Orion she was fairly picky. She was always willing to flirt, but not always willing to follow threw. "I don't know..." She said with a quizzical look on her face. "I guess it just depends on my mood" She gave Delon a wink as she ended her phrase.

"So tell me, what are you in the mood for right now...?" Tovan asked. He was being a lot more forward tonight than he has been so in the past. It was rather fun to ask someone these questions to see their reaction and also to hear what they had to say.
