Tovan was pleased with how the meeting had gone. He got up from the stool grabbing his PADD off the console and headed for his office. He believe that he had a good group of people that knew their job very well. He wouldn't have to stand over them and constantly supervise what they were doing. He placed the PADD on his desk and approached the replicator. There was a light knock on the door. That conversation was about to happen with Morgan. "Come in, Lieutenant. Have a seat."

Morgan walked into his office after being invited to have a seat. He had been expecting her she thought to herself as she walked over to a chair and sat down. She had been asked if she was interested in anything and after declining she watched Tovan walk over to his seat and sit down.

"You want to know why you..."

Morgan nodded in response. He sure was ready for her. This guy was good, she thought to herself. She didn't know what it was but there was something about him that just made her find him intruding. Even as she was yelling at him earlier. "Yes..."

"It's rather simple Lieutenant. I need someone that will not be afraid to let me know if I am in the wrong. You demonstrated that earlier." Delon answered her question hoping that she would be satisfied with the answer. The truth was that his answer was only about one half of the equation to why she was picked. She was the most qualified person in this room for the position.

Morgan only found herself speechless few times in the past. This was almost a few sensation and experience for her. She was flattered that he would find that trait so accepting. "Thank you, sir." The anger that she felt towards him earlier had died down for the moment.

"While I do appreciate that you speak your mind Lieutenant, there is a limit to what I will allow. I can't have you questioning every one of my orders and decisions. I need to know that once I make my decision final that you will carry it out. Otherwise, I might be looking for a new officer to replace you and you might be looking for a new ship." Delon added not wanting his new assistant chief to start questioning everything in front of everyone.

Morgan nodded. She understood his reason behind it and she told herself that she would keep it to a minimum. She had career oriented person. This was her opportunity to prove that she can handle command and that she can lead people when needed. "Understood, sir."

"Glad we understand each other, Lieutenant."

"As am I, sir." Morgan responded.

"Now, if you don't mind. I have a few things to finish up. We will meet later in the afternoon to discuss this department in depth and what I expect of you." Delon said as he grabbed the PADD off his desk.

"Yes, sir." Morgan stood up. "Thank you for the opportunity." Morgan added and turned around to leave the office. She was half way through the doorway when she heard the voice behind her.

"Oh and Lieutenant. I apologize for the incident aboard the starbase."

Morgan stopped in her tracks and turned around slowly looking at the chief who was still sitting in his chair working on his PADD. She smiled to herself and turned around leaving the office. She didn't say anything back. It was her way of dragging this out just a bit longer.
