Alex and Alora were the first to arrive in the transporter room as they'd been ready and waiting for the last thirty minutes. Alora had gone over all the information she could find on their missing scientist so she wouldn't miss anything and was eager to have a look at where he lived.

"You have your..." Alex began before pulling out his unique weapon from the holster on his thigh. "You know. Just in case." He gave her a smile. He knew she could take care of herself, but he still couldn't help but show his concern from time to time.

"I do, but only because we have no idea what we'll find. This is all too strange to ignore. And I really hope we find this man alive and well."

"So do I." Alex replied with a smile as he approached her. "And as soon as we get some hours to breathe, maybe we can take a side detour into a Holodeck and have a date night?"

"I like that idea." She smiled. "And we'll lock the door. I like your team, but they tend to take in use as an invitation to a party."

"Oh no." Alex replied as he slipped his Peacekeeper back into its holster. "They aren't invited. I'll make sure of that. And if they attempt to bother us in anyway I'll make sure they spend a majority of the mission cleaning the Prowler inside and out. I can do that, you know. I am the Team Leader." He gave her a smirk and took a hold of her hand. "And as Boss Lady, So can you."

"Good. We'll ask Horus to help." She squeezed his hand. There were a lot of things she loved about being with Alex, but fully adjusting to living with his team on the Prowler would still take time.

"Of course." He leaned in and gave her a kiss on her lips before leaning back quickly. "Horus?! Is that someone I need to be worried about?"

She chuckled. "No. I'm a lowly solid. Besides, you're the only one for me."

"Good." Alex replied with a smile before adding. "We've made such a great impression on these people I would hate to change all that by doing the whole... killing someone out of jealousy thing."

Busy shoving a spare tricorder into his field kit, Aenar didn't see the occupiers of the room as he strode in. Cursing his luck, he smiled and raised a hand, 'Prophet's greetings to you both.' He pulled his hand phaser from its holster and fiddled with it ‘til he was satisfied that it was as he wanted it.

"Hi. Lieutenant Torek, yes?" Alora said to the science officer. "Thank you for joining us."

'No problem,' Aenar replied with a thumbs up.

Sometime later, Joren joined. "Good day," he greeted simply. "Ready to find our smugglers?" Joren knew it likely wasn't that easy, but he could hope.

"I hope so." Alora glanced at her husband. "But we aren't quite sure what we'll find."

'Nothing too exciting, I hope,' Aenar replied with a smile. 'Last time I headed out on an Away Mission we ended up with some Remans on our tail. Could do without that this time!'

"Oh, I hope not." Alora shook her head. "I don't want to think of them being involved in this. But if they are, we'll find a way to deal with the situation."

Squaring his shoulders, Aenar smiled, 'I doubt they even know of the Mirror Universe. From the reading I've managed to do, all the encounters so far have involved Starfleet personnel and their equivalents on the other side. Strange no?'

Alora raised an eyebrow. "That is strange. But I don't want to think what might happen if the Terran Empires allied with the Romulan Empire." Although from everything she'd learned since meeting Alex, she was fairly certain the Federation and its allies in both universes would prevail.

'That would be an interesting, if disturbing, bit of blue sky thinking,' Aenar replied as he cocked his head, thinking for a moment. 'Perhaps, one day, I can write a speculative paper. Well after we deal with the matter in hand.'

Alex overheard the conversation, while double checking his equipment, chuckling softly to himself at the comments. As he doublechecked his weapon, the Peacekeeper, he spoke up. Remans are a rare site in the Mirror Universe." He looked over to Aenar, shifted his gaze to Alora, then back again. "They're shunned by Romulan culture and so they've taken up a nomadic lifestyle. And... they are one of the nicest species to encounter. They would give you the robe off their backs and the food on their plate and ask for nothing in return. Some say if you ever to encounter one you have received a great gift." He took a step to Aenar, looking him deep in the eyes, before adding softly. "It's said.. when you encounter one... you must always say It is an honor to meet you, Good Traveler and in response you will be granted great wisdom. Whether it is something they have learn or a rare gift. Should they like you... they will always reply with... Be Well."

His eyebrows raised and he smiled, 'a friendly Reman. Fancy that,' Aenar chuckled, 'I guess it really is a mirror, huh?'

Alex pat him on the shoulder and smiled. "Should we ever make it to the Mirror Universe, and we find our way to the resistance colony where I grew up, I will introduce you to one. His name is Mesek. He's a healer. He's well versed in natural medicine. Not only that... He makes an amazing tea. His wisdom and tea are worth the trip, Lieutenant. I promise you."

The Bajoran scientist nodded, and smiled again in return, 'I look forward to that part of any trip there at least.'

Alex smiled and placed his hand on Aenar's shoulder. "For you, my friend... I'll make sure it happens."

"I'm pretty sure there are several people on the ship who would like to meet him," Alora said.

'This is all of us, right?' Aenar looked around, and to the Commander, 'we can get going?'

Lieutenant Penelope Jannetty approached the transporter pad having just entered the transporter room. "You forgot something, Lieutenant. Your good luck charm, all five feet and a couple odd inches," she said with a smile.

She had come with an Engineer kit slung over her shoulder. She gave a polite nod to everyone. "Doctor Penelope Jannetty, Acting Chief Engineer. Penny for short, PJ if you have the mental capacity of a Pakled, and Peanutbutter if you have a death wish."

Alora raised an eyebrow. "Why would anyone call you peanut butter?" She wasn't sure why they'd need an engineer, either, but she wasn't going to question the commodore about it.

Penny was about to answer but thought but not to explain that. "No comment," the Acting Chief Engineer stated. She smiled to herself. It was a nickname that had followed her since the academy.

She chuckled. "I'm Alora Knight. This is my husband, Alex. We're with the Prowler. Welcome to the team."

Her reputation having circled round the ship twice over, Aenar knew better than to use any of the nicknames for Penny. 'Lieutenant Jannetty, nice to see they called for a competent Engineer to accompany us.'

Alora looked at the group and nodded. "Oka, let's beam down and check on the scientist." She glanced at Alex, knowing he would be the one to notice if there was something wrong, then she stepped onto the transporter pad.
