Alex looked over to Alora, then to John, only to return his gaze back to Joren. He simply nodded his head in agreement and replied softly. "I get it and I feel same as you, but let's not pretend this universe doesn't have its fair share of dangers or those who are just as quick to betray Starfleet, or the Federation, for their own personal ideals. I'm not saying you’re wrong, so please don't take offense, I am simply pointing out neither universe is perfect. Commander, believe it or not, we're cut from the same cloth. We believe in the same things, had we met under different circumstances we could have been great friends, but I was born there and raised to be an Imperial Officer."
[CONTINUED]
"For a time, I would have died for those ideals, like any other Officer there, but I came to learn all you're doing is dying so your superior doesn't have to. Fighting, not to keep the Terran Empire pure and safe, but to keep those above you from having to waste their strength. Pawns on the board, as it were. So, I broke free and eventually found others who would help me in freeing others from those same tainted ideals. I joined the Resistance and found people I was willing to die for and who would do the same for me. In order for them to be free they had to betray those values for something better. They deserve to make their own choice because not all of them want to wear a uniform. Some just want a better place to live. Free from the threats they lived with all their lives." Alex paused and took a moment before saying. "I am not saying these men aren't a danger. We don't even know if the ones doing all this are, in fact, from my universe. However, if they are, I believe they deserve a choice to stand down because maybe they have never been given it and know no other way. Just because we don't know their fight doesn't mean they aren't fighting for something."
"We're all on the same side here," Sam assured Alex. "Each of us took our own paths to get here, but we're here, and we'll do what we can to stop the marauding. We have no problem with anyone who chooses to come here to live. Just those who come here to steal."
Alora put a hand on Alex' arm. "I think we're good now."
"I'm from here and met Alex when he came over to chase down his brother. He's been fighting to help us ever since."
Sam nodded. "Good. Then please, have a seat while we wait for the others to arrive."

Doctor McCabe responded to the briefing room. After he entered, he noticed that it wasn’t full yet of everyone. Seeing the coffee on a tray, he approached to take a fresh cup. It may not be his kind of coffee, Irish flavor, but it was better than nothing. He glanced at someone who he doesn’t recognize. He figured that they were getting a new commander. Dwight decided to watch his movements and the way he talks to people to understand ahead of time before to introduce himself, unless he wants to go first.
Jayna arrived before the rest of intel took a seat. She heard there was a new XO, but she had yet to meet him. The other two she assumed were from the Prowler.
Logan, the large Caitian, entered the briefing room with a smile upon seeing Jayna. He walked over toward her before standing behind her. He placed his large pawlike hand on her shoulder, gave her a gentle and playful squeeze, before stepping back.
Jayna looked up at him and smiled.
Newmark came through the doors and with little fanfare took the closest empty seat as any rumors of a mirror universe trip will have him trying to keep the enemy from infiltrating by the standing out of background radiation, now his crew are standing out in the ambient background particles, He needs a way to filter out Prime members while surrounded by Mirror Universe particles and thin out the possible crew doppelgangers?
Munich was among the next to enter, he had some samples of the Mirror universe transmission wavelengths and analyzing it with The Calypso Communication Array to formulate a safe transmission band. when he took a seat at the end.
Before the meeting started, Joren went around the table and offered hands to the senior officers he hadn't had a chance to meet yet. "Joren. Pleased 't meecha."
Just as the doctor was about to take a seat with his mug, he shook the man’s hand. “Doctor McCabe…Dwight here.
---===[Outside the Briefing Room]===---
Remy stood outside the Briefing Room doors, after instructing Logan to go in ahead. He had business with the Chief of Security and wanted to talk to him alone. The small Chief of Intel had his concerns about the mission and the crew they were working with.
As the turbolift doors opened Damion stepped out and proceeded to the Briefing Room doors until he noticed Remy standing there. The moment he saw Remy straighten up he knew it was about him so he prepared himself for a talk or fight. With deep sigh, and a rolling of the eyes, he proceeded forward.
"Ahh... Mister Wolfe. Just the man I was-"
"Whatever this is about, Batiste, make it quick." Damion interrupted as he stopped and crossed his arms. "I don't want to miss the briefing because you decided to you wanted to talk."
"Fair enough." Remy replied with a smile before continuing. "I think the Captain is making a mistake. Not letting us learn what we can from the machine that allows them to travel between universes. Information like that could help us finding this other ship."
Damion rubbed his eyes, trying to hold back his frustration, before pulling his hand back and looked to Remy. "She's made her decision. Their tech is for their use only. Our concern is the one we're chasing."
"And knowing about the technology would help us in that chase. Perhaps there is a way to prevent them from escaping us when we track them down locking inside the device on their ship. It could be valuable-"
"Remy!" Damion shouted before taking a step closer and lowering his voice. "The Captain was clear. If you feel the need to petition their people to give us that information she may not stop you, but I doubt they will give it up freely."
"Which is why I came to you." Remy said firmly as he looked up at Damion. "These people aren't just Intelligence Officers, they are Max's people. Your people. Coming from you, that request, will have more value. You speaking up about this will help get it moving."
Damion rolled his eyes again and leaned down slightly. "Listen to me, you little gremlin, I have no intention of going against the Captain's wishes. On that note, my connection with Admiral Hunter is not to be used for your benefit. If he wanted them to share that information then he would have said as much to them. Right now, our goal, is finding this ship and dealing with it. If they want us to jump through flaming hoops in order to do so then I volunteer you to go through the first one. If that means I have to throw you through it myself then I'll do it. Stop trying to undermine the Captain's orders. And stop trying to recruit me in your plans."
"What if that information is what keeps your daughter safe? You wife?" Remy said firmly. "They are still onboard, aren't they?"
Damion raised a brow before grabbing Remy's uniform and holding him against the wall. "Are you threatening my family, you little-"
"Think clearly, Commander." Remy began as he was held up against the wall. "You were an Intelligence Officer. You know the value of information and how, often, that information could prove paramount to the success of a mission. It's why we do what we do. The right Intel could prove lifesaving. Can you honestly stand there and tell me that information like that couldn't prove useful in this situation?"
