Mission: Food for the Gods
Location: The Undercity

ON

Outside the bar, there were six others waiting for them. All held small metallic rods in their hands. "This way," the man who was clearly in charge said. He walked through the others so that Sam and her team had to walk between the six men and women who fell in line beside them.

They were led down the street to a white building that stood apart from the others. "Wait here," the man said and walked inside.

Glancing around at their remaining captors, Aenar surreptitiously pulled opened his tricorder and tried to scan their immediate vicinity and the building in front of them.

Dwight saw the Chief Science Officer, hoping that he doesn't get caught and decided to pull out the medical tricorder to do a quick scan as well. He replaced it after reading it. He carefully went up to be next to the Captain. With a lower voice, "I feel like we just stepped into a time portal...a gateway. These people are not humans as their DNA doesn't match up."

"Thank you," Sam said to the doctor. She wasn't sure what they were, but they were clearly humanoid.

Thy'las crossed her arms and looked around, cautious and stern, as she went though the recent events. All of this seemed to easy. Maybe it wasn't what she was used to dealing with, since her missions were usually more covert and didn't require contact, but she still felt something wasn't right. They were too busy exploring and offering up information on themselves far more freely then they should have. It was unsettling, to say the least, but also dangerous. She couldn't help but feel this was only waiting time, however it wasn't enough to allow her to lower her guard. "I don't like this." Thy'las said softly.

The man came out. "You may come in. Do not speak unless spoken to and do not make any hostile moves." He turned and walked back in, expecting them to follow.

"If they don't get visitors, why are they assuming that we're here to cause trouble?" Sam asked to no one in particular. She hesitated, wondering if all of them should go in.

A nudge from one of the guards had her moving into the building.

The doctor nodded and continue to follow right behind the Captain. He wasn't sure how to respond to her question. He hoped that this mission goes smoothly as they all were in an unknown environment. His clothes was strange to begin with. It was like an added personality to him that wasn't real, more like being an actor in a theater.

John followed, looking at all the exits and looking for any obvious recording devices, power units, and any nooks and crannies that could be used for someone to hide in. He agreed with Thy'las, something was definitely not right here.

They were escorted into a large room with a round table in the center. Eight men and women sat around the table, all facing the door as they entered.

Sam took the lead. She stopped a respectful distance from the table and gave a polite half-bow. "My name is Samantha York. I came here because you have two of my crew members."

"Crew?" one woman asked. "What is this, crew?"

Sam wondered how much she should tell them at this point. "We came to repair one of your machine on the surface."

Having thought about what the others had said, Aenar had kept quiet, following their lead. After all, they had had the experience of working together for far longer. When York mentioned the machine, however, he piped up. 'The machine was sending a message, indicating it was broken, and that you may be in some difficulty,' the Bajoran supplemented the Commodore's explanation.

"Machine?" one of those around the table turned and had a whispered conversation with the person next to him. "Which machine?"

'A machine at the top of the shaft where you're new ... guests arrive.' Aenar kept his tone easy, friendly, 'we're rather certain it protects the surface from natural disasters. When we arrived, the machine had been operating on automatic for too long. Our Engineers fixed it.' The Bajoran was unsure of how much they understood of their own technology from their reaction

There were several more whispered conversations, then one of them got up and walked out.

"You will wait where you are," another of the circle said. "We must look into your words."

"I'm just a healer that fixes people," the doctor wondered, carefully pushing back his Irish accent, wondering if his speech mean anything to the people that he paid a lot of attention to.

Looking in the Doctor's direction, Aenar shrugged, 'they don't particularly seem trusting of outsiders. I wonder if that explains why they retreated down here?' It was an interesting notion. Looking at our captors, though, I doubt we'll find out very much, he thought to himself.

Dwight looked at the Chief Science Officer. "I get that by their looks as if they appeared to be kinda nervous as if we are a threat. Maybe so," he said, keeping his voice down.

"Not like strangers appearing out of the blue would give them reason for pause", John said dryly, trying to alleviate the bit of tension.

"That doesn't take away the fact that they may be a threat to us." Thy'Las said firmly as she looked around the room. "While all this, I am sure is very fascinating to all you science types, there is no hint that them walking back into this room and attacking us for knowing too much or not wanting us to leave knowing their secret." She finally turned to Sam and Kayhill before adding. "Granted, I may be coming off as paranoid, but there is still a level of danger here. We're here in a vulnerable position, surrounded by people who not minutes ago was ready to attack us for that fact that they didn't know us, and now they seem prepared to lay out the welcome mat for us? It's too easy, from my perspective, and we aren't even sure that this will bring us any closer to helping out own. We have no assurance that this won't make use captives ourselves and that won't get us anywhere close to getting them back. I choose to remain cautious."

Sam listened to the conversation around her. She agreed with them, there were no guarantees they would come back and be willing to work with them. But she didn't want to be aggressive if there was any way around it.

"I am Munich of the Calypso. All repairs to the Computer complex have been repaired, Can I speak with my representatives that should be to you by now?" The computer had the message displayed on the screen of the monitor.

The representative walked in just in time to hear the message come across the screen. He started at it for a long moment, then copied it down and hurried out.
