Mission:
Food for the Gods
Location: Shan and Savar's Quarters
Timeline: Anytime
ON:
Shan stretched her right arm across her body as she walked towards home. She'd been crawling the Jeffry's Tubes all afternoon trying to pinpoint and repair the source of a power fluctuation in the life-support system. She had been used to this kind of thing once upon a time, but it seemed that her time on Vulcan had left her soft. Despite her yoga and her workouts, the hours she had spent bent over on hands and knees had left her sore and tired and growing stiff.
She barely looked up as she shuffled into her quarters.
Savar had been given some latitude with his duties; his rank did give him some privileges; he had opted to work out of his quarters today as he wanted to get a few more things done around his quarters. He had just cleaned up a bit after being in the Jeffery Tubes for a time make a few connections of his datastream.
"Greetings My Lei." Savar greet as he watched her move. "You look as though some oo-Mox or a bit of Vulcan pressure point might be welcomed?"
Shan gave a little half laugh, half snort. "As good as you are at Oo-Mox, I really don't think a tympanic tickle is going to help right now. A hot shower would be better I think. And some of that ginger green tea my parents sent, maybe?" she suggested as she headed for the bedroom. As she passed her mate, she did stop to kiss him hello, though.
"The tea water is boiling and the tea leaves are prepared in your favorite cup Lovely one." Savar said after the kiss. "I also cleared space around you latest puzzle."
There was no snort in her laugh this time and her smile was tired but real. "Reading my mind again. Have I mentioned lately how much I love being Bonded to you?" she said. "Thank you, Sehlat."
"You just did My Lei." He winked and watched her walk to the bedroom and shower.
*How do humans say it? 'Sorry to see you go, love to watch you leave?'* He mused a bit and decided a good dinner that he had been preparing should be tended to while she showers.
Shan stepped into the shower and let the heat penetrate into her sore muscles, loosening them up so she could stretch them out a bit more. "Getting old," she muttered when she finally stepped out and dried off. Tonight she went with comfortable leggings and a long sweater dress, something that was warm and thick and would keep in the heat from the shower. She dried her hair and sent a thought to Savar that she would be out in just enough time for the tea to steep if he poured the hot water now.
Being with a beloved mate over time to a Vulcan helped with understanding and direct unspoken language. Pouring the water for the tea he had the dinner also ready for the table. Right now he seemed quite domesticated; things were slow on the ship so he went with the culture of his mate. Then he started towards the bedroom and to intercept Shan; taking her into his arms and kissing her with some passion before lifting her off her feet and carrying her to the main room just for the fun of it.
Shan laughed a little and made a low, almost purring sound of encouragement; his kisses often inspired that little sound from her. "Thanks. That does make me feel better."
"Then I have logically fulfilled my duties as your mate." He smiled. "I did make a promise towards your happiness." He pulled the chair for her to be seated. "I will not be lax on the honor given me." He winked.
She slid into the chair. "You're doing a bang-up job there," she said with a sigh and reached for the tea to sip. Green tea and ginger considered to be good for muscle strain. "I got soft while we were planet-side," she said as she leaned back in her seat. "Fat and lazy and soft."
"I have always liked 'soft' by the way." Savar remarked. "As for the 'Lazy' we could debate the point that you are managing to keep up with your work flow and that as a Deputy chief your duties have increased." He chuckled and moved behind her and ran his hands along her sides with a loving caress. "The 'Fat' part I do not accept." He kissed her at the nape of the neck.
Shan reached back to return the caress, just a touch to his cheek and neck and shoulder. "Intelligent response. Very diplomatic, too," she teased. She closed her eyes and sighed. His hands were warm as they ran up and down her sides, almost like a light massage. "That feels good," she murmured.
As though on cue the timer chimed.
"Dinner." He kissed her neck. "I have also chosen a wine that I think you will like with Dinner." He gave a grin. "It will help with the mood." Savar moved his hands away as he turn to go get the meal. "I will have a Conference Communique on the Morrow and might be late in arriving back. Seems the Federation representatives want to have a a chat with the new guy." He chuckled.
"So no waiting dinner and drinks tomorrow night, I'm hearing? Darn, I was hoping this would become my usual routine," she laughed lightly. "Make sure to give them a good look at you so they know who they're dealing with. I find it's best to start as you mean to go on; don't give them any idea that you're a pushover and you'll have an easier time in the future."
"I will do what is logically prudent of course." Savar was placing the dish in front of her and then his own. "I find it best of they get the best impression ; as humans say, and that means giving them what they want." He grinned and a 'Vulcan' Diplomat has never been one to be thought of as a 'Push Over' but more one who often get in the way of the emotional reactions and suggestions of those around them." He popped the cork of the wine he had gone to get before seating himself. "I would enjoy after a hard day of dealing with 'Emotional Beings' you might arrange ... desert?"
Shan eyed him with a teasing smile. "I could probably throw something together you'd enjoy. I do know your particular tastes quite well."
Savar returned a smile. "That is what I am counting on."
