1,081 words; about a 5 minute read

Mission: Food for the Gods
Location: Counselor Offices

ON

Spartacus was pacing, her heels seemed to dig more into the pile carpeting of the small office assigned to her, a small work station in the corner ; the sacrifice for having more comfortable 'seating area' for serving tea along with her sessions. It was supposed to be a comfortable setting; she should be fine, her pacing was more military style as she ran scenarios through her head.

She had the best pressed Uniform; her black tights for this option since she did not feel like showing her bare legs as normal would be appropriate; it would be more enjoyed but her 'patient' this round, the thought made her skin crawl. She was senior most Counselor at the moment; she had been on the ship long enough to earn that rating and still she hated her achievements and dedication to professionalism.

Not even the soft tinkling of her silver dangling ear rings seemed to make her feel better; the matching tennis bracelet on her left wrist felt like it hung like a 10 kilo workout wrist weight. Even the anklet on her left leg that covered her secret bit into her and reminded her of what she really was; had been , and fought never to be again.

How could one man; a male Spratacus did not even know formally, caused all the years of her confidence to be thrown aside? She glanced at the clock, she had about five minutes to get herself under control, he would be here momentarily. She wanted to ask Samantha the thing Spartacus had done wrong to bring this man aboard, but It was not the Commanding Officer's fault that Spartacus felt this way, it was a good decision that meant an uncomfortable situation for the Counselor.

So lost in thought she had not realized the passing of time as the chief sang out; Spartacus spun to stand on 'her' side of the small seating area as she spoke, her hand linked in front of her to keep them from clinching or shaking, he had arrived on time, damn him.

The door parted as the sliming Ferengi entered her office; even with the air circulation the 'smell' of economical cologne waifed through the air. He had that typical sharp toothed smile of a Business man that sent chills like ice up her arms.

"I am Security Investigation Officer Gink." He stepped through the doors. "I believe I have an appointment. It sis proper procedures of course and I hope that my evaluation records have met with your approval as being submitted properly by now?" The voice reminded her of fingernails on a chalk board; 'they' all reminded Spartacus of that when they spoke.

Her 'intuition; the Betazoid heritage in her, felt nothing from the Ferengi and was of no use. She had to rely upo her own observations to get through this.

"Yes, they arrive in a timely manner. "Spartacus said and with muscle memory taking over offered a seat across from her. "Please have a seat."

"You are a very kind hostess." Gink said as he took the offered seat. "Might I also comment upon the fine taste in adornments you have chosen?" He sat and took in the Orion as she smoothed the very well-fitting skirted uniform, she wore the cloths like another layer of skin; a fine tailoring job to accent her figure as well as put across an air of fleet protocol concerning her uniform was a cut above most. "You complement the code of Uniform well, I must give you full credit for your professionalism and not being one to not follow the standard."

It was supposed to be a complement; he had of course noticed the uniform on a female, he had not leer but she could put Latinum down the man would think the silk of her uniform as well as her choice of Lingerie a waste as she 'is' female and such 'adornments' should be worn on bare skin to fully give highlight to the jewelry?

"Thank you, Mr. Gink." Spartacus was using all her diplomatic skill at the moment. "I accept your complement." She straightened. a bit in her seat; her legs were properly tucked under her seat at the ankles and she sat ever so slightly favoring her right side so not to give her skirt hem a direct line to the ... Ferengi. "I see that you are new to the Calypso."

"It was quite the Boon for my career when the Admiral approved the transfer at the Commodore's request." Gink rattled off. "It was a surprise as I was only performing my duties on Vulcan as I am charged to do. Though it seems a star ship will have more opportunity for my skill base; I hope to prove the decision to bring me aboard was a good one, as Vulcan before recent times was not utilizing my learned skills as much. " Gink had to admit the beauty of the Counselor in her uniform was slightly distracting, her legs were well contoured, and the cut of the skirt accented that attribute well. He fought to be of decorum and not focus upon her soft looking knees and never dare to move towards the hem line of a woman's skirt.

"I would like to set things in motion naturally." Spartacus said and paused for a second to gather her concentration away from the distinct scent of a Ferengi.. "I have some Loknar bean and unfortunately I could not get the Millipede Juice I-I had ordered and I know the replicated is not of favor to most Ferengi. I did get a type of natural Beet Juice that I am told is a close approximation though." She offered.

Looking at the 'spread' before him Gink realized again that Orion females are quite the hostess; they have a natural method of knowing how to please; she had taken the effort to individualize his session snacks. Gink also noted her tonal quality, she was being quite proper in so many ways, avoiding the Orion seductive speech patterns. This female took great steps to shy away from her nature; he was attracted to her but felt no added compulsion towards it; not that his injection to counter the effects did not help, but the woman Spartacus was taking lengths not to seem like the typical Orion female, more like a hue-mon style mannerism.

"You again are very kind." He watched her pour the juice and prepare him a small plate.
