1,100 words; about a 6 minute read

Mission: Pulling Together
Location: Calypso
Timeline: Immediately after Ruaway!

ON

Yui's fingers tapped on the helm console. She bit her tongue as she began to cause a slight overload in the nacelle coils. A warning alarm began to beep, but Yui simply muted it.

The ship shook violently for a few seconds as the nacelles flashed a bright blue, before the warp field collapses. The Calypso was thrown out of warp and dropped down to a lower impulse speed. A shower of sparks showered down on the officers on the bridge.

Yui held onto her console as she manually adjusted the inertial dampeners and thrusters to bring the ship to a complete stop.

"We're at a complete stop" she reported with a sigh of relief. "I am attempting to reinitialize helm control to the warp engines...." she was cut off by another alarm now beeping.

"Uh oh..." she said. "Sir, collapsing the warp field has caused damage along most of our engineering systems. We're basically sat here for a while until we can get the warp core back online." she said. She swung around in her chair. "Permission to go to engineering sir. I can assist with restarting the engines."

Permission granted." Munich said slowly enough not to let his accent get in the way. "Please relay to Engineering the need for a hasty return?"

"Aye sir" Yui replied.

[Volga Class Runabout: USS Declan]

Rosaleen quickly punched in the coordinates where the sensors indicated that the Calypso has dropped out of warp. All readings indicated that she was dead in space.

"What a way to start a new tour." She thought to herself as she rapidly approached the the starship's location. Dropping out of warp, she opened a channel to the Calypso.

"USS Declan to Calypso on Discrete, do you copy?"

"Calypso here. We copy."

Rosaleen did a quick scan of the Calypso. "Stand by to receive my craft in Shuttlebay two."

"Roger. Shuttlebay two."

"I will be in Shuttle Bay Two."Munich realized there was little he could do at the moment. Munich stood from the Center Chair. "Keep me apprised of any changes." He ordered as he headed for the Turbo Lift. "I will be back shortly.

Munich hated the fact he was in command and out of uniform; maybe he had made a bad call in dropping the ship out of warp so suddenly, but being on a wild course and out of control just did not bode well. He had assigned the Engineering staff to get the Main Computer back; he would have liked to work on the Communications Array himself but as ranking Officer his duty was on the bridge.

Coming onto the correct deck Munich was out of the Turbo Lift and heading to the Shuttle Bay Two with his militart School drummed March. Under times of stress he often reverted back to his training; he also knew to speak slower and fight his natural German accent.

[Shuttle Bay Two]

Miunich was through the doors and ready to recieve the inbound shuttle; the force fields were working well and the FLight Crews ready to secure the shuttle once it landed.

STill in his cotton shirt and slacks from being on Shore Leave before his Emergency Recall left Munich with a sense he was not going to have the best day ; he had a broken ship and new Crew arriving when he was not at his best.

"Not-ting can be done now." He said to himself as he stood ready to meet the inbound Officer. "Vhat a day..." He took a breath and waited.

[Bridge]

The Long Range Sensor Net registered several vessels entering from the trajectory of the Calypso before she dropped out of Warp. Three unknown ships without transponders were taking an intercept course. The sensory net registered their entry and confirm them as Orion style hull configuartions but of an unregistered type. Computer request logging them as new Zulu type. Initial scans show them to be of a Corvette size and profile.

Sensory data estimates two hours and six minutes to intercept of the vessels with...

The sensory Data ceases...

[Engineering]

The Engineering deck was in chaos. The ship had been stopped, but at a price to the hardware. Lieutenant Annie Dixon was at the end of her rope, which was pretty short to begin with. Thank goodness for Ensign Murphy, who had stepped up as her second during the crisis. As for herself, she had found tasks to busy herself. Mostly in quiet corners (what could be found), and T'Pral's office. the latter still felt foreign to her, and she made pains not to sit in the Vulcan's chair, or move anything even a nanometer.

She was sitting cross-legged on the office floor, PADDs strewn all around her, when Murphy poked his head in. "Lieutenant, um, there's an officer in Command Red who just walked into Main Engineering. I think she might be looking for you?"

Annie blinked owlishly, "What, why?"

Murphy shrugged, "No clue," then he vanished.

Annie hoped that the mystery would disappear as well, or that someone else would escort the lost officer to where they were supposed to be. After a moment, she sighed deeply, laid the PADD she was working on down, and stood from her organized chaos. She stretched her mildly numb legs before looking out the office door. Sure enough, there was a red-collared officer at one of her terminals.

"Um," Annie hazarded as she approached. Her fingers fidgeted nervously, though she made an attempt to sound confident. "Can I help you?"

"I'm Yui, and I'm here to help."

=^= Munich to Engineering. =^= The strong German accesnt in the voice. =^= If Ve do not have warp power in two hours I hope tyou have us full weapons array and shields as there are Several ;possibly hostile, vessels on an intercept course. =^= He explained. =^= You get us moving and I will worry about da rudder.=^= He emphasized. =^-= We need warp power right quick or those who wanted us out here will come with their next phase of planning.=^=

"Uhmmm," Annie's hesitant voice extended the word as she glanced at the chaotic beehive behind her. "Two hours is... not possible, sir. We've replicated new manifolds, but we still need to get into the mechanics and-" She suddenly paused, realizing she was rambling to the XO. She bit her lip and closed her eyes a moment, quietly panicking.
