Mission: Pulling Together
Location: Sickbay

[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

The ACMO continued her work in silence, embarrassed to have been scolded. Luckily, Softtouch made that tact all the more possible for her. No wasted words needed to exchange tools, no prolonged vocalizations required to get the bio monitors updated to a new section of their patient's circulatory system as they worked their way up the length of T'Pral's body. As the surgery progressed, Lita couldn't help but furrow her brow at the bio readings. "Doctor, we've managed nearly 70% coverage according to the readings. Shouldn't her blood pressure be coming up by now? And much faster?"

[NEW]

Alexandra watched her new assistant working while she herself was repairing the arteries with micro-suture surgery, as they - or rather the other woman - decided. Doctor Williams certainly knew her job well, she realized with a satisfied nod. "The Vulcan cardiovascular system is somewhat different.", she then reacted to her colleague's question, "But still, blood pressure should be starting to stabilize by now.", she said with an unwanted worrying tone in her voice, "Check the vascular resistance."

The scans were not favorable; the shock to even the Vulcan System was not to be ignored, he snapped his glance between the two doctors and then to the weakened aura of T'Pral. It was something that they could not find; it had to be a set of artery system; if the Body were not so tramatized; the shock the woman took would have killed a 'regular' humanoid. If nothing else Vulcans are very much tougher than they appear.

It was looking worst; SOfttouch could feel the continued dwindle of T'Pral's aura; even sedated there should be more of a sense to him, he had to do something or it would suddenly turn for the worst. A 'Domino' effect that would go as fast as the toys making patterns of damage along their path.

Softtouch took a breath an moved forward; he not as gently as his usual state moved past Williams as she was closer to the damage, Taking off the sugical gloves then wrenching the Brail gloves off Softtouch put his hands on the patient...

Waves of pain rushed over him, he could feel the tramatized areas of T'Pral, she was at a cross-roads. Needing only to be pushed to the correct side. The network of cappilaries were all burst and severed from their connections. DOzens in the width of a millimeter and all now blocking the flow of blood to vital areas. Were the patien only minorly injured then it would have been diffrent. SOfttouch let his own aura flow out of him; an exchange if you will, he was taking the damage onto himself and replacing his life's energy with hers; being a much deeper connection than any Empath his people could draw out injuries from another being while relacing their own healthy body. The scientists of the Medical COrps still are baffeled by the process,

The caplariry system was forming a normal process and blood began to flow within T'Pral. Softouch looked past the growning pain in his own body; as this might be his last chance on this ship before the powers that be transfer him away to keep his secret quiet, he decided that his body was more healthy and could stand to complete the work of the Doctors.

Organs flashed with a type of light; more like a chain of flashes most like a Christmas tree only the damaged organ appeared as healthy as it should upon observation. Softtouch continued as his own 'guts' ct into him with searing pain, he had not been numbed so the pain was apparent. HE cried out silently in agony but refused to let go of the connection until he was done, never leave a person wounded. The pain showed on his face he was sure yet he strives to heal the Vulcan. The last of her major wounds put right an ready for the doctors to close her up...

Softtouch pushed away and tried to head for the exit of the OR and out of the way. His head spun and his guts are as shattered glass tearing him inside for a bit. Slowly lessening in minute bits; he needed to rest and let his own body heal; he had not gone past the threshold of life and death, not even really close, a few hours... maybe a day, he was never sure when he had to heal like this. The ship took a sudden wheeling maneuver and Softtouch lost his ability to compensate for the roll and was hurled to the ground to lose all consciousness.

He fell near the threshold of the door.

Lita stood dumbfounded, both hands raised up in front of her, knuckles facing outward. She held the classic surgeon's pose, meant to maintain the integrity of the sterile gown. After Softtouch had brushed passed her and taken her place, had done whatever he had done, she wasn't entirely certain if it was safe to touch T'Pral anymore -- for the patient or for herself. She nearly choked out an exasperated cry as she gaped at Doctor Alves. "What the --" she breathed. She looked to Softtouch crumpled on the floor. Back to Alves. The monitors were registering an improvement. They shouldn't have. But they were. "I -- what -- was --" She shook her confusion away, forcing herself to find her composure again. "Where do you want me, Doctor? The Vulcan or the...whatever he actually is."

Softtouch had reached a threshold with his healing of the Vulcan, all need be done that he could not complete was the closing up of the patent and then moving her to Post Op. Having a Nurse fall in the OR is not a routine happening, Two of the medical personnel were quick to hear the unusual sounds and came to see what is happening? They quickly moved to bring SOfttouch out of the Operating room as he was so close to the doors it would not affect much, carrying him between them to the nearest biobed.
(All need be done in closing of original incisions and getting T'Pral ready for move to recovery. Maybe a few slaps to come soon?)

Against all odds, the Vulcan was stabilized. T'Pral would recover from her wounds. She remained unconscious, but now that her life was no longer in danger, the Vulcan self-healing would kick in and she would wake up before long.

Alexandra watched in a mixture of shock and awe what just happened in her sickbay, right before her eyes. What Nurse Jemnar performed was not exactly something one would read about in medical textbook. Or even come across in decades of practicing medicine.

"Her condition is stabilizing!", she looked at her instruments in awe, then back to T'Pral. It was a smaller miracle, but apparently not without any cost. She needs to have a serious talk with Mr. Jemnar if he gets out of this...

"Doctor, please keep Lieutenant T'Pral's condition under close surveillance.", she then quickly turned to Lita, whose question she heard, but was not able to answer until now. "Nurse.", she then snapped at Helga, "Check the condition of Mr. Jemnar. I'll be there in a minute." Still puzzled by what just happened, Alex again looked at her assistant CMO, rubbing her neck, not if she said this out loud of just to herself when she said in her native Portuguese, "Esta merda é seria."

Lita raised a brow, though her attention remained fixed on the monitors that dutifully reported on T'Pral's condition. "Do you have any idea what just happened?" she asked. And now she did give Alex a look. "Like, at all?"

"Apparently, there is something our Mr. Jemnar haven't told us about himself.", the doctor rubbed her neck, confused just like her colleague, "Otherwise, I'm just as clueless as you are, Lita.", she admitted, calling the assistant CMO in her first name probably for the first time during duty hours, "What we know is that Lieutenant T'Pral's condition is stable. Whatever caused this sudden change, I don't know, but we should be glad it happened."
