Mission: Pulling Together
Location: Surface of Vulcan

ON

The surface was hot, while Munich was more accustomed to the jungle heat the dry warmth of Vulcan did not affect him as much as some. As they say on Earth; 'Some like it hot', so he had dressed on flowing cottonn short in more of an ivory color and khaki colored slacks with decent boots that could work on pavement or sand. The Duffle slung over his shoulder he had packed for a 72 our pass with Maria.

He had been; not reluctant, a bit more reserved while he did not want to seem so forward as thet would be rude. Maria is a lady; a fine Latina with fire in her, which would have been a good choice in his Mother's opinion. A fine German girl was most preferred but living in the South American Contenant made Latin girls a natural choice among the men living there.

Not that his family had anything to do with this with the exception he did not act anything but a gentleman around her. He did so like her though; it was something to admit to himself and eventually to Maria when the time is right. Now he just reveled in the fact he had agreed to accompany him to he surface, he had booked the rooms next to one another; though the proper was across but Hans did not always follow tradition.

"At last we are off the ship and fresh air." Munich pointed out using his Spanish dialect this time, communicator in his pocket since he was technically on vacation.

"," she agreed. She paused to take a deep breath, appreciating the scents in the air. It was a nice change from the sterile air aboard the Calypso. "This will be a nice break, although working on the ship is not arduous." She couldn't help grinning at Hans. "At least for me."

All work and no play would be a dull thing." He continued. "Our lodging is just a few hundred meters in that direction." He told her. "I managed side by side rooms." He nod to her. "Vulcans are logical so two guests beside one another was 'logical I suppose?"

"Perfecto. I have not been to Vulcan before." She grinned at Hands. "So I will rely on your expertise for this trip." It was the first time they'd done more than spend a few hours on the holodeck and she looked forward to some time for the two of them to simply enjoy being together.

"There are very highly recommended hot springs and of course the visit to the base of mount SOlei, while we cannot be on sacred ground the view I am told is the best on Vulcan. The choice of location was made when Vulcans were pre-Sarek's teachings and was made in an emotional decision for the beauty of it I am told." He offered his hand. "Anyplace emotionally picked by Vulcans must be worth seeing ?"

"Definitely," Maria agreed. "I admit that I'm in awe of a race than can trace its roots back tens of thousands of years. We were still beating rocks together when they were..." She grinned at Hans. "Never mind. I just want to see as much as we can while we're here."

Munich lean over and gave her a gentle kiss . "I am glad you accepted the invitation, this is much more fun together." He winked and went to lead them to their lodging to drop off the bags. "If we hurry there is said to be a place I am told has a beautiful noon day sun reflected on the desert, rumored that the view of light upon the sands appears like a rainbow mirage on the water."

", that happens in the desert when there is heat and sun. But with the Vulcan sun, I am quite interested to see how it compares." She grinned at Hans. "I'm sure, like many things on Vulcan, it will make what I've seen back home pale in comparison."

They went to their separate rooms to drop off their bags and met back in the hallway. "Okay. Lead on."

Munich offered a hand and took her out of the lodgings to a quick little hikke to the summit; a large Gazebo style building was waiting with a small crowd filling the place.

"I made reservations, they are very accommodating on Vulcan." Munich said as he gave his name to the Host.

"Oh? And how did you ask them to accommodate you?" Maria asked, grinning at Hans.

I told them I must impress a beautiful woman with a picturesque sight." He had leaned closer to whisper."I was told they could not sauruntee the reaction I wished yet from past incidents it is highly probable you will be taken back by the sight emotionally." Winking he escorted her to the table bahind the host.

"The table you requested." The Host Vulcan pulled the chair for Mari, Hans waited for her to be seated before himself taking a seat.

"Thank you," Maria said, smiling at the waiter.

The scene was of interest in the heat waves had created a smooth and rippling effect as waves upon a lake kissed by the gentle breeze as a array of colors reflected in a rainbow shimmering across the landscape as far as the eye could see.

"I almost expect to see trout jump." Munich marveled himself at the sight.

"And I see heat shimmering on the desert and think of the science behind it," Marisa said, shaking her head. "But then, I am a scientist, so it is to be expected."
