Mission:
Shadow Dance
Location: Council Chambers
Timeline: Prior to Confrontation
Jennifer was escorted from her room with guards both to her front and rear to the council chambers upon the request of King Keelan. Whilst she was weary when the two first met, his hospitable nature and charm had honored her despite all that she had been accused of. For her, fact had been the basis of her trade and the driving force behind her work.
For Keelan, it was the complete opposite. The man had used his wisdom, instincts and faith to guide him in his assessment of Tate. He had stood by her when others left her abandoned. He treated her like a Queen when others would treat her like a slave. His generosity was unworldly and she wondered how she could repay such a debt.
For now, she would settle with assisting him at his pleasure.
Arriving at the council chambers, the guards led her into the room which was empty Vice the three of them.
"She is not a threat, I distinctly ordered a single escort for her even when in the corridors." Keelan said from the head of the table, the counsil members were in recess. "You may go, leave us."
"Yes my Lord." The Guard left immediately.
"Consider havng a seat." He gesgure to the seat to his right.
"Thank you your highness, once again you are most generous." She replied with a beaming smile, offering a curtesy before taking the seat.
"It seems I have a Princess that has been found on the Federation Vessel with the leader of the Kanari." He looked to the woman Tate. "There are skirmishes with them along the boarders, and so I have a Federation Commadore, a Misguided Princess and the Leader of the opposition all conspiring on that ship of yours."
"Let them conspire." Tate said wanting to grab Keelan's hand but choosing not to as to not agitate the guards. "In their hearts they know the traitor who fled her people. They will see her weakness, and they will see your strength." She cooed.
"If only the whims of the people were so loyal." He gave her a smile. "I have the counsil on board for this yet I still have to feel... something for the fracturing the Princess is causing among the people. Had we known she ran away to the Federation it would have been diffrent." He thought aloud for Tate to be a prrt of the process.
"Then we must show our people the light, we must show them who is truly loyal to them and who will stand by them. The Federation is trying to poison their minds and undo thousands of years of culture and heritage spreading their lies. You must remember my dear king, it was the Federation who brought the poison that killed our King. The traitor brought the Federation to us and in turn they killed our king." Jennifer replied clinching her fists as she grew angered at the thoughts of the Federation contingent.
"Calm down Jennifer." He noticed her fists and the grin grew a bit. "We cannot do anything about it this second." He placed one hand over her fist. "And I did not ask you here to upset you, I needed a distraction and a kinder face as things are in turmoil."
Jennifer looked down at her hand. He had actually touched her, this caused her shock as habit caused her to look up and check for a guard. When she noticed no one step forward she looked back to Keelan. With the initial anxiety gone, his touch was comforting and caused her to release tension in her hand. "What will you have of me your highness?"
"What you are doing. Though if your friends from the Calpso arrive would you act as intermediary as I do not wish to deal with them right now? Their involvement is becoming very draining. Your Commadore is determined to aid teh Princess and came only after secret communications from the wayward princess."
Jennifer bowed her head. "Yes your highness, that is after all my purpose. Leave the Federation to me."
She smiled placing her other hand on his letting out a sigh. "I only wish there was some way I could help you with your burdens better. I do hate seeing you like this."
"You are my trusted friend in all of this." He smiled to her looking her in the eyes. "Giving me more of yourself than anyone of my own people. " HE told her. "Were all my subject half as loyal this would not be a problem." I have also used my poition to allow you to act like an advisor, no need for escorts any longer 'Unless' the Federation uses their Science to make you seem guilty?"
Jennifer laughed. "If the Federation finds me guilty their laws will not only hold me, but also the Commodore in violation of some of our more serious regulations. Their laws forbid them from interfering in civilizations, such offenses are taken seriously."
"Even if we are seeking to be inducted to your Federation?" He asked with a sigh. "If the crew of your star ship come down you may collect the data and see their eyes as they give you the conclusions, to see what is in their motives?"
"Are you asking me to spy on the Federation?" Tate asked.
"Negitive, I just want your impression of the people, you know them better than I have . Just want your impressions if they are lying or not."
"Yes, of course your highness. I will alert you should anything of concern come to my attention." Jennifer replied.
"That is all I ask of you." HE gave her a warm smile. "A king should not lose his temper by the frustrations of those who would insult him."
"Your grace is most eloquent in the public, I will handle the detractors." Tate replied.
I thank you for the support.
