Mission:
Shadow Dance
Location: Scorpion Fighter, Warp 5
Timeline: Current
ON:
Leroy had his feet kicked up on the console of his fighter, the stick disengaged, as he barreled through the warp field at a speed he'd forgotten his fighter could go. Since it was attached to a star ship and not used for interdictions inside a normal sphere of influence, Leroy had all but forgotten that his baby could even travel at a speed faster than light.
Normally a stickler for code, his helmet was behind his head as a pillow instead of on it as he listened to music heavy in beak and people sometimes screaming. It allowed him to relax as he made his way back to Earth for a recruiting event, something that was going to allow him to stay on a planet for a while, but also get some much advertised upgrades to his Scorpion should he need them.
He knew that nothing was going to come for him in warp since he had slipped off while the Calypso was still dealing with the aftermath of one of his pilots destroying a cloaked vessel that was ignoring all hails. He had already written up his after action report and would send it off to his home when he dropped out of warp. A soft beeping that got louder woke him up about three hours into his nap, which was proceeded by him setting up his controls once again for quick and decisive action.
Hitting a button he looked out on a new star field that appeared as the fighter slipped out of the warp field. Where he was supposed to see a starship for a refuel and a little food that weren't E-Rats, he saw nothing. Spinning around 360 degrees, Leroy's eyes got wider and wider, before he grabbed his water bottle and took a shaky drink to calm himself.
Nothing was there. Checking his chrono, he cursed violently. Checking his fuel input/output, he knew he wasn't going to make it to the next rendezvous on his dilithium reserves. Checking power settings, he wasn't going to cut down more systems than he already had just to get an extra few thousand kilometers in warp. Leroy shook his head, before setting the water down, and opening hail frequencies. He was far enough away that the Caly wasn't going to be the first to hear him, and wouldn't be forced to come after him. Shaking his head, he opened all channels before talking calmly.
"This is Lieutenant Leroy Managlia of the USS Calypso any Federation or friendly vessels in the area, please respond. I am in a Scorpion class fighter, and low on fuel. Anyone out there please respond. My coordinates are," checking to see where in the quadrant he was exactly, he put them over the coms. "Again, this is Marine Lieutenant Leroy Mangalia, of the USS Calypso if there are any Federation Starships or friendly vessels, please respond." Making sure it was on a continuous loop, he grabbed the canteen one more time to take a small sip.
Lieutenant Mangalia this is the Operations Officer for the USS Gilgamesh. We will be more than happy to assist you in any way. Please stand by for us to drop out of warp. Please power down all weapons, and prepare to board. Leroy thought the last was a little odd, but put the weapons in standby. As he did, a large Galaxy Mark II snapped out of the warp field, running lights flashing in the depth of space. Please Prepare for tractor assisted boarding The Ops officer said before closing the channel. Leroy felt the fighter jerk in response to the tractor beam. Welcome Aboard the USS Gilgamesh. Please enjoy your stay.
