Mission: Shadow Dance
Location: Space
Timeline: Current

ON:

Leroy had left the Jenefran air space quickly, then broke orbit. Buzzing the right nacel of the Calypso, he started out towards deep space. He needed to make sure that something wouldn't try and stop him when he went to warp. With his smaller ship, it was a little more dangerous that he go off alone instead of in a larger ship. They wouldn't be as impacted by gravity wells as his smaller fighter craft. Setting in his coordinates for his first warp jump, he cut the impulse engines and waited for the computer to finish the calculations. Since he wouldn't be able to stay awake for the entire trip to make the necessary adjustments, he needed the course firmly in the computers autopilot. It could, and would, wake him if anything happened that needed something better than it, but for the jumps he was taking like a frog going from lily pad to lily pad he could allow the computer to run some of the distance.

A bleep on Mangalia's console would alert him of a surge in Tachyon radiation in the area. The concentrations were small and seemed to be in motion moving closer in proximity to him but in no discernible pattern. The readings seemed to coincide with the radiation emitting off that of a cloaked ship or ships.

Putting his feet down from the console, Leroy eyed the readings before grabbing the stick that would allow him to fly a little easier. It was placed on his left side, with thruster and weapon selection on his right. It would also allow him to hail someone if it was needed. Checking the readings, he also looked to see if there was someone that was already decloaked.

One of the signatures came into contact with an area of slight gravimetric interference. This dropped the cloak on the ship for only a moment but enough time for his sensors to pick up readings on the vessel. It seemed not to take notice of Leroy, however it was on course to Jenefra. The ship contained only light armaments comparable to Mangalia's fighter.

Grabbing the sensor data, Leroy started doing an active sweep for the same type of tachyon radiation that had just appeared. Turning, he started to follow the signal of particles. Keying up a hail, he waited for either the cloaked ship or for the Calypso to answer.

"Calypso here," said Ensign Targalia at the Calypso comm station.

"Hey guys," Leroy said as he kept following the signal he was seeing. I've got something odd heading your way. At least one cloaked ship heading towards the planet that was slipping by me as I was heading out. I'm sending my coordinates, they're sending out pretty heavy tachyon streams."

"Coordinates received. Passing the message to the fighters. Thank you," said Anli.

"Patch me into the fighters if you don't mind," Leroy said as he continued to follow the trail.

Anli quickly hooked him up. "You're connected," she said.

"Phoenix here. What's up?"

"We've got a couple of enemy ships coming in under cloak Phoenix. They hit some kind of subspace rift while I was heading out and I caught a glimpse of one of them. I'm sending what I've got now."

When she got the information, she quickly accessed the data. "Got it, boss. I'll get the fighters out to see what's going on."

"Yeah well, I'm also hanging back from them a little bit. The usual flurry of attack isn't going to work for this..."

"Roger. I'll send out Wedge and Jae," Phoenix said, quickly sending a message to scramble the two fighters.

Leroy continued to follow the source, checking his chrono. He would have the Calypso fire off a message for his new arrival times and why he was late to his meet ups. He hoped that nothing would come of it, but his first priority was to his people. "Phoenix can you see if the Calypso can send a sensor pulse my direction? I want to see if this disrupts them again."

"You're a bit too far out, but I can send out a shuttle to do the trick."

"I can do that" Yui said over the comm channel. "We have shuttles which are much faster than fighters, as scouts anyway..."

Jae sat in the cockpit of her fighter, from being assigned to the Alert 5 position. She hated this assignment because she had to stay in her cockpit or at very least by her plane. It made for a boring few hours as she looked at the chronometer for the hundredth time. "This sucks," she said to herself.

Suddenly the flight comm came alive. "Launch Alert fighters, Wedge and Drani. Possible cloaked bogey approaching Jenefra. Intercept and investigate."

"Yes!" Jae exclaimed, donning her flight helmet as it synched with the daughter's computer. The canopy sealed shut as the cockpit pressurized. She tapped a few buttons, running a quick check of flight systems which came back green almost instantly. Powering up the engines, she was given the clear to launch signal from the Deck Flight Officer. She gave a thumbs up and braced herself as she pushed the throttle forward, reaching full impulse as soon as she cleared the fighter bay doors.

Checking her sensors, she spotted Mangalia's fighter. "Wedge, I got a fix on the boss."

"Confirming the lock." Wedge said as he started to process the navigational systems. "Wedge to Calypso; send pulse in alpha quadrant to Leroy fighter please."

"Sending it via a drone," said Anli. "It should reach your destination in 20 minutes."

"One of the advantages of working on the fringe; support is so at ready hand." Wedge said as he kept a sharp eye on his sensors for ANY impressions.

Leroy waggeled his wings, something that only his pilots should understand as a pilots wave, to others it would look like he hit a subspace disturbance, or if in the atmosphere, some turbulence. He was still following behind the pings that he would get occasionally, and started charging his weapons. "If they go hot, pincer attack. You two to the front, I'll get the rear, should be able to disable and capture no problems."

=^+ Roger that.=^= Wedge said as he kept his mind on the task; eyes on the sensors and figer ready for the trigger.

=/\=Acknowledged,=/\= came Jae's reply, as she maneuvered her fighter into position.
