Mission: Point of View
Location: Wolfe's quarters
Timeline: After An Unexpected illness

ON

Ronnie finished her shift early and went to Damion's quarters -- their quarters, she still kept forgetting that -- to prepare dinner before she told Damion her news. She was still trying to assimilate the information, herself and hoped he would be as happy about it as she was.

While she replicated a centerpiece and dinnerware, she kept thinking of how they could arrange their quarters for the baby. Eventually they would need family quarters, but a crib at first should suffice.

She hummed quietly while she tidied up and tried to be patient until Damion got there -- but it wasn't easy.

Damion walked into his quarters, letting out a deep sigh as he closed his eyes and leaned his head back. He had a long day and was glad it was over. He could finally relax and spend time with Ronnie. He cleared his throat, removing his retractable blade and phaser in order to place them onto the end table by the door. Slowly he removed his uniform jacket and tossed it onto the hanger before making his way to the replicator. "Ronnie?"

"Right here," she said, coming out of the bedroom. She'd changed into a pair of soft jeans and a loose cotton blouse. "How was your day," she asked, giving him a hug.

"Better now that I am here with you." He smiled as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her passionately. Damion felt a sudden uneasiness coming from her, but he knew better than to come out blatantly and ask. The best thing to do was to let her bring it up on her own. "How was your's? Do anything extra science-y?"

"No, nothing out of the ordinary in science." She couldn't do it. She couldn't wait through dinner before telling him. "I went to see the doctor today, since it's been a while."

Damion leaned his head back and groaned, a soft laugh escaped his lips as he looked back down to her. "Damn. I still need to go for one. I've been putting it off. I got so caught up on this Morat thing that I haven't been focusing on anything else. Hope everything's okay. I haven't needed my medication for quite some time so I am pretty sure I will be better than okay."

"I think you're definitely better than okay," she agreed. "I'm, well," she wasn't quite sure how to break the news, so she went for blunt. "I'm pregnant."

Damion laughed as he leaned down and kissed her on the cheek, walking away as he let out another slight chuckle. "Good one. What are you thinking for dinner? Pasta? Soup? Maybe something exotic?"

"Pasta," she said quietly. "And juice. I won't be able to have anything alcoholic until after the baby is born." What was she supposed to say, I really am pregnant? She wouldn't say something like that as a joke.

Damion froze in placed, his back turned to her as her voice echoed in his mind repeating the same four words over and over again. I really am pregnant. I really am pregnant. I really am.... pregnant.

Slowly he turned around and looked at her. He went through several emotions at once, but the one that stuck out the most was fear and she didn't need to be empathic to know it. It was written all over his face. Damion was afraid of the outcome. The consequence. How this would effect him. How it would effect Ronnie. Whether or not his condition would transfer over to the baby. He just stood there and whispered. "Pregnant?"

Ronnie walked up to him and hugged him. "Pregnant." She'd forgotten about his condition -- it had been so long since he'd shown any signs of it. She'd simply been happy that they were going to have a baby.

Damion wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on the top of her head. "Pregnant." He replied softly and then let out a bit of a chuckle. "You're having a baby." He said as he held her closely. "We're having a baby."

Ronnie grinned both in relief and happiness. "Yes. We're having a baby." She hugged him tightly. "You're going to be an awesome father."

"Let's not jump to conclusions that quickly, Ronnie." Damion replied with a bit of a laugh.

"I didn't say you'd be a perfect father, I said you'd be awesome," she teased. "I've got a lot to learn myself."

Damion hugged her again and then leaned his head back slightly to look at her. He placed his hands on the side of her face before leaning forward and kissed her deeply. He was still filled with emotions, but his fear was slightly less than it was when this news first broke. "We need to tell someone. Should we tell someone?"

"Who should we tell?" she asked.

"York for starters. She needs to know." He said with a bit of a smile. "I need to tell my sister Nattie. Max should know, but know him he probably already does." Damion chuckled slightly.

"Sam and Max, definitely -- unless Max congratulates us first. Your sister, and my brothers, if I can find them. We've lost touch since my parents died."

Damion smiled slightly as he took her hand in his. "If you need to find them I know the perfect guy who can hunt them down for you."

She raised an eyebrow and gave him a cheeky grin as she took his hand. "Is he tall, dark and handsome?"

"I was actually talking about Max, but if you want me to try I am sure I can give it a shot." Damion smirked then laughed.

"Well, you were Intel," she said. "But Max would be my second choice," she replied. "Do you want to do that now? Contact people, that is?"

Damion shrugged slightly. "I don't know. What do you want to do? Sam is your closest friend, and the closest, so maybe you want to tell her first?"

"Yes," she admitted. "I would like to tell Sam first. Then we can tell Max and your sister."

She hugged him again. "I love you, Damion. Come on, let's tell the Captain."
