[OLD]

Frenatus raised his hands, but Sam gave him no time to build up a charge. She used the bit of telekinetic ability she had, bolstered by the generator, and threw Frenatus thirty feet across the room. "I know your secret. Back down now and we'll talk like two civilized beings."

[Outside]

Sneaking as close as was safe to the hall, Cam peered through a door crack at the action inside, well than, that's just a little out of place he thought to himself and partly to Kara through their bond

"What?" she asked telepathically.

[Reception Hall]

"You will DIE!" Frenatus yelled. No one, especially no FEMALE made a mockery of him in front of his people.

Sam sighed. She didn't have the patience for this. So, rather than fight Frenatus, which would not end well because he was larger than she was and if he got one sot at her with his electricity, she wouldn't survive. So, she picked him up with her enhanced telekinesis and threw him out the open door to his balcony and into the yard out front.

All the acolytes in the room froze, unsure what to make of this. Sam took advantage of the opportunity and turned to them. "I am no more a god than he is. Now, before I really lose my temper, I think you should all go home."

They didn't need to be told twice.

Quickly moving to one side as the doors flung open, Cam waited with his knife ready for the acolytes to leave before silently entering, staying in the shadows as much as possible.

The room emptied of acolytes and Sam began to look around for anything else Frenatus might use to pretend to be a god. She found a small device under his chair and stuffed it into her small bag. There would be time to figure out what it was later.

She'd just finished when she sensed someone out slipping into the door behind the curtains...

Slowly drawing his knife, Cam prepared himself for a fight, unawair that it was already over. Hearing one last person still walking around, he assumed it was this lizard guy they were all talking about. Waiting untill he was close enough, Cam jumped out of hiding and attacked

Sam, assuming one of the acolytes had returned, used the telekinetic boost from the gestalt generator and threw the assailant across the room. Only then did she notice that he was dressed in camouflage. She hurried over to make sure he was okay.

Kara, hearing the commotion and picking up the surprise coming from the Commodore, hurried into the room. "Commodore? Cam?"

Hitting a wall with a good thud, Cam slumped down onto the ground. Waiting until the person who had thrown him was close enough, Cam quickly subdued them, slapping a pair of snap bracelets on them that acted like hand cuffs. It was only after the whole thing that he realised who it was, "well, this I awkward" he said, removing the bracelets

"Were you never taught to look before you leap?" Sam said, trying hard not to smile.

"I'm glad you didn't actually hurt each other," Kara said, walking up to the other two. "What did we miss?" she asked, looking around at the empty room.

"A lot," Sam admitted. "Keeping it brief, Frenatus uses a special generator that enhances telepathic and telekinetic abilities. He's currently outside. He took a bit of a ... fall." She thought quickly. "Come with me. I have an idea."

She headed for the balcony, hoping the other two would be close behind. A crowd had gathered, several acolytes were helping Frenatus to his feet.

"People of Gekkaro," she said, speaking to the people in the back so she could be heard. "My name is Samantha York from the Federation Starship Calypso."

The crowd began to murmur, having heard from Frenatus how the outsiders were here to enslave them.

Sam raised her arms, sending out a telepathic feeling of peace. She wasn't sure if it would work, but it was worth a try. "Frenatus lied to you. We came here to find out why we detected advanced technology on a peaceful planet like yours. We did not come here to change your way of life. However, Frenatus did. He is no god. He uses his technology to make you think he has power." She leaned telepathically into the generator and lifted Frenatus to his feed and raised him a head above the crowd. "As you can see, I, too, can use this technology. You are free to decide how you wish to run your society. You do not have to listen to htis creature."

Many of the people stepped back at Sam's show of power. They weren't sure what to believe at this point, but they were clearly doubting what they'd been told.

"We only wish to help you adjust to ruling yourselves, then we will leave," Sam continued.

"Wait," Frenatus said. "I wish to speak -- in private," he said to Sam. To the people he said, "I, too, wish to help you. If you will let me, I wish to help you."

Sam was growing tired, but she couldn't let this opportunity pass. Once again using her enhanced telekinesis, she brought Frenatus back up to the balcony. "I will give you a chance to explain yourself." It was far more than he'd been willing to give her. She turned back to the people, who were watching the proceedings with a look of awe on their collective faces. "Send in representatives from your village. No more than five. We will talk to them." Then, with a nod to Cam and Kara to help Frenatus, she turned and walked back into the reception hall.

Cam smiled as he grabbed Frenatus' arm, "hi, we'll be your escorts today. If you attempt to make anything move, lift or make us see things, you will loose the use of you legs as I will sever your spinal cord" he said, sounding more like a pleasure cruise worker than a marine, "we hope you won't enjoy the next few minutes"

Frenatus glared at him, but didn't put up a struggle.
