[15 hours into return journey]

Munich was still on the bridge; he had begrudgingly decided he could sit in the center chair, he was tired but alert. The repairs to the ship are taking forever it seemed to him yet he could do little more than sit and wait. How the Command Officers were able to put up with a feeling like this; one of helplessness, he could not stand for much more of it actually. He rubbed his eyes and shook his head slightly, the hours were passing at a snail's rate.

Communications had established some connection but even with the improved levels it would take nearly a week for a message to get to Star Fleet through subspace, the only option was to get back to the solar system and hope that weapon had a range? He was planning for the eventualities.

"OPS, bring up a star chart of the Gekkaro System, focus on the planet with the away team."Munich had a thought. "Lay in the rotation of the satellite, I want to know when we get into sensor range of the system plot a course to approach with the satellite between us and the planet at all times uyntil we get to the fifth planet. At impulse we should be able to track that flight pattern and keep things 'under the hat' you might say?"

The turbolift doors opened and Galen stepped onto the bridge with her medical kit in hand. After she had finished in Engineering she had started visiting other sections of the ship. The seriously injured had been beamed directly to sickbay, while the others had been treated and/or helped there as well. But not all those who had been hurt would seek help right away. With repairs ongoing, some may have put off getting medical assistance if their injuries were minor.

Galen immediately took in the room, pausing for a nanosecond to wonder at the significance of this place; the command center for the entire ship. Without breaking stride, she walked up to a man sitting in the command chair. "Excuse me Lieutenant Commander Munich, I am here to see if anyone requires medical assistance." She offered a friendly smile.

"We passed the wounded down to Sick Bay as required, I brought the stand by personnel from Alpha shift to continue the shift. We have had the ending of the Alpha shift rotate to beta and they have rtotated to Gamma." Munich said while using the back of the chair for support. "I am trying to keep shift rotations consistent." He held the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes for a few seconds. "The repairs are keeping people busy; you might check to assure they are not over doing it."

"Speaking of overdoing it," Maria said, having come on the bridge in time to hear the EMH and Hans speak. "Commander Munich has not slept yet. Doctor, with your permission I will take him to his quarters and make sure he gets some sleep."

Galen looked critically at the Commander, he was clearly in need of some rest. "That is an excellent suggestion Ensign." She continued to face Munich with a friendly expression. "It is also our duty to take care of ourselves so that we may be of assistance to others." She smiled again. She did not want her first impression on the XO to be her telling him to go to bed. Adult humanoids seemed to resistant the suggestion. But she had a duty as well.

=^= Commander Tate to the bridge. =^= Munich watched as the Doctor and Maria would not back down and he had suddenly felt like it might be wise to follow without complaint. =^= I need a rotation for rest.=^= He ended the transmission. "Will that do?" He asked as he rose from the not quite comfortable Command Chair. "Ensign Delgado, lead da way." He said simply.

Maria smiled. "I'm glad you decided to be reasonable, sir." She nodded to the EMH, "Thank you. I'll leave you to check on the others."

Galen nodded back, and before they had moved too far away to be indiscreet she added, ""Please try to get at least 6 hours of rest Commander."

She waited until they were on the turbolift and then turned on him. "How can you hope to get us back safely if you collapse from lack of sleep? Have you even eaten in the last 12 hours?"

"Does coffee count?"He asked simply.

Maria let out a string of invectives in Spanish, slapping him on the chest for emphasis as she spoke. "No, it does not. You will go to your quarters, eat a real meal and then sleep for a full eight hours. If you do not do it voluntarily, I will have to babysit you to see that you do."

Munich paused for a second, glad that she is human and not able to get any emotional projections from him.

"Are you going to sit outside my door to make sure I do not sneak back to the bridge." He began. "Or if you are going to babysit me do I get to treat you like my teddy bear?"

Maria put her hands on her hips and glared at him. "Malcreado. No. When you are falling off your feet with exhaustion is no time to start talking about teddy bears. I will sit on you bed with a phaser and shoot you every time you try to sit up," she threatened.

"Are you trying to be like La Coca?" He tried not to laugh.

Maria smacked Hans on his chest again. "Me vuelves muerto. I should have let el doctór give you something to knock you out instead." The turbolift doors opened and she marched off, heading for Hans quarters, practically daring him not to follow.

"Eso era lo malo que decir." Munich said with perfect dialect, being raised in South America helped him with Maria as he followed her down the corridor, he was more tired than he had realized. "Lo siento, María, yo no debería haber dicho eso, me alegro de que quieres ayudarme." He tried to apologize.

"Está bién -- ésta vez," she said, slipping her arm through his to make sure he stayed upright. "Come, sleep now, apologize later."

"You win." Munich said while walking the short distance to his quarters.
