Jonathan sat gazing out the window pane of the transport ship that was currently transferring him to the USS Calypso. His tenure on the Sunfire had come to an end with the decommission of the Defiant class vessel.

Now he was on his way to a Galaxy class which had its perks. First of all, more room. That's always a plus after spending years and years aboard a cramped starship with little to no amenities.

Second was the plethora of options a Galaxy class ship offered from recreational acivities, leisure choices, to socializing with various people.

Things had ended sourly on the Sunfire with the whole fiasco with the Cardassians and now he looked for a better situation that would perhaps be less tense and hostile.

He wanted a break from the life of a warship and when Starfleet Command gave him the chance to come aboard the Calypso, he jumped right on it.

Perhaps the situation isn't as bad as it said on his briefing before the assignment orders, but it seems curious that the TFCO had severed ties with the Calypso and Starfleet due to a Cardassian Ambassador not being able to wander the ship without an escort.

Cardassians. Them again. They just don't go away do they? Jonathan sighed thinking about that species. They have caused him, his family, and his previous two posts so much grief it was a surprise he didn't erupt into an uncontrollable rage just at the thought of them. Just his luck he'd have to deal with them again, but at least he could say he's had plenty of experience with those sneaky snakes.

He didn't know much about the senior staff of the Calypso and it would take him time because dossier's never did anyone justice until you actually met and interacted with a person several times before getting somewhat of an idea of what type of person you'd be dealing with.

The senior staff's records were impressive and the Calypso had gone through a lot in it's brief history. His job as mission advisor may not be as tough as he figured considering how Starfleet Command put it; a precarious situation. But he still needed to find out what the hell was going on.

Jonathan looked over at the time. 2 hours before the transport would rendezvous with the Calypso. He still had some time to catch a few z's before their arrival and the start of a new adventure.

With the chair slightly bent backwards in a comfortable position he slowly closed his eyes.
