Korok blinked, he had been in the pit. He had fought for his life over and over and he had held onto someone he knew in his arms and then suddenly his eyelids flickered open and he was crouched down in an attack form he could feel his face muscles as they tightened into a snarl he glanced down at the one he crouched next to. He reached down and brushed a stay dark hair out of her face. He smiled sadly as he knew what he had done he had hurt her and there was not a thing he could do about it. She lay there injured, not by him though, by those who kept attacking the two of them over and over.
The hair on the back of Korok’s neck stood up as a noise was heard off in the distance, the sound of a twig as is snapped under heavy foot fall. Next a rustle of what sounded like dried leaves as an opponent charged towards them. Korok stood he braced himself over the injured woman.
The enemy charged Korok and shoved him back, he then turned and swung his heavy weapon down and buried it deep into the woman who laid there.
Korok sucked air as he bolted upright from his nightmare. He bent his knees and placed his arms on them as he hung his head, his long hair covered his hot, sweaty face. He took in deep gulps of air and tried to calm before he woke the sleeping woman beside him or the twins in the other room. By the prophets he did not need to wake them. He tried to relax and could not so he shoved the furred blankets aside and stood up. His knee twinged with muscles that were not quite used to his new knee and his partially grafted lower leg. He ignored them and half limped to the restroom and started to prepare for the day. What he would do after therapy was unknown to him. He felt out of place here, he worried about his mate and her children. He worried about his unborn child that she carried he worried about their safety.
The Federation was supposed to be safe, but then Roberta had explained that most Federation officers never took time for family. He certainly hadn't expected to find her nor fall for her and he certainly hadn't expected that when he did that she would come with two children, two children not her own.
Korok however did not care, he loved the twins. They, Olivia and Oliver were a interesting pair. He smiled to himself as their small faces replaced the faces of his nightmare. He washed the sweat away and his natural musk was tamed with whatever Roberta had replicated. It seemed that she had some experience with klingons before. As he finished dressing, he pulled his boots on one at a time he stopped long enough to stare at her sleeping form a long moment while she slept before he heard small quiet voices from the other room. He bent and gave her a quick kiss on the forehead and went to prepare breakfast for two growing children and his mate.
