"Stryfe." Remy replied with an angry tone as he slammed his small fist onto the table, causing his PADD to slightly jump. "That explain's why Wolfe. He was a former member of the crew. He knows the systems, the people, and how Stryfe thinks. Brilliant."

Max leaned back in his chair, straightening his tie a bit as he looked around the room. "Normally, the Night Star Project's details are classified, however due to the current situation and Wolfe being a possible suspect I am going to reveal it to those who don't know it entirely."
"Max, the details are classified for a reason and under no circumstances should you-" Remy said before being interrupted by Max.
"I don't recall asking your permission, Lieutenant Batiste." Max said sternly as he looked over to Remy before looking back around the table. "Despite the status of the project, it's Captain is a major threat. Wolfe is risking his and his companion Lancaster's life in order to bring him down and to place him in front of a council to be held accountable for his atrocities. Under the circumstances, I am declassifying the project to help ensure his name is cleared. Objections?"
"No objections," Jayna said. "But with the murders and Wolfe as the prime suspect someone either knows he's under cover or they have a personal vendetta against him. The framing was quite good."
She walked over to a cupboard and pulled out an Andorian blade. "This is the weapon that was used to kill the Panerian delegation." She set it on the table and continued. "We found his prints and DNA on the weapon. However, in some of the harder-to-clean places we also found Caitian DNA. Female."
"There was something..." Spartacus checked her PADD. "Right here..." SHe read the excerp from the Newmark going over the evidence. "Doctor Newmark is a fencer, a very good one by all accounts, it said he had noted the swordplay was 'precise but not perfect, that is was like someone using an off hand..." Spartacus relayed. "Someone was trying to copy and project this man Wolfe's style but it was... not natural according to the Newmark report?" SHe looked to the man Max. "I know a bit about swords and how they are; it is said an expert can duplicate another's style but not with the fluidity of the original. We could compare some of his fighting records and use some computer tricks to show difference and at least make an argument to check things more and look at someone other than Wolfe?"
Jayna nodded. "I found some recordings of Wolfe training on the holodeck. He is quite fluid."
She glanced at Logan. "After this is all over, I'd like to see your moves."
"I hate to contradict you Ensign, but I know several people who are well versed at mimicking people and their behaviors and styles. All of which are classified and skills are revolved around study and mimicking human and species behavior. However, I see your point and I agree. Having seen Wolfe fight personally, I can tell you that he is very well trained and there is no hesitation and he is very precise. He values disabling over killing and would only take the latter if absolutely necessary." Max said as he looked over to Sparta, nodding slightly to thank her for her report.
Remy let out a slight sigh to Jayna's comment and tapped his small fingers on the table. "Despite Miss Jayna's observations, and future wishes, I think its best to note that Intelligence has only a few reports of Caitian's with a skill like that. Let alone females."
Max nodded as he lifted his PADD and tapped on it. "True, but this is the only one that makes sense." He said as he stood up and walked over to one of the monitors overlooking the table. "This is former Lieutenant Kayte Denardo of the Night Star crew. She was last reported as a member of the crew so if the DNA matches then this is most likely out prime suspect. She has a interesting style of combat and is well trained in bladed weapons. She is the only member aside from two Andorians, also on the Night Star that can pull something like this off."
Logan gave Jayna and smile before looking over to the picture, and profile, of Kayte. He was curious as to what would drive one of his own people to be so cold. He looked down slightly before looking over to Remy who already had his eyes locked on him after sensing his concern.
"Everything okay, Logan?" Remy asked softly.
"Yeah, Boss. We've been working away from people for so long, it's been a while since I seen another Caitian. Thats all." Logan replied, giving him a slight smile to try and hide the worry behind his concerns.
Remy nodded. Even though he could feel Logan wasn't being entirely straight forward, he knew best not to push and so he dropped the subject.
Jayna didn't buy Logan's explanation, but didn't want to pry, either. "Why would she frame Wolfe?" she asked Max.
"Simple, Lieutenant. Because her Captain told her to." Max added, looking over to Jayna as he continued. "Gregory Stryfe was a fine officer and dedicated to his Intel. He had this uncanny ability to persuade people, lulling them into a lower sense of security and play on their weaknesses to get what he wants. Kayte is one of his devoted officers. It wouldn't take much."
"And how do we know Wolfe wouldn't be drawn into the same silver tongue as the others?" Logan question as he looked over to Max.
"Because I know Wolfe and anyone else on this ship would tell you he is focused on his mission to bring Stryfe down. More so than anybody. He's seen things first hand and wouldn't turn away from a change to put this opportunity behind him." Max said as he looked around the room.
"So it's personal?" Remy asked.
"You damn right it is." Max answered very quickly, slamming his hand on the table. "You of all people should know that everyone has made mistakes in their past and few have the chance to correct it. This is one of Wolfe's mistakes and I trust him to finish the job and not be blindsided by Stryfe's silver tongue. I challenge anyone here to look through his records and logs and tell me different."
Jayna compared the DNA on the sword with Lieutenant Kayte Denardo. It was a perfect match. She shared the information with the others. "So, now we know who the real murderer is, we need to catch her without blowing Wolfe's cover. Sounds peachy."
She looked to Logan for several seconds. "This guy knows the Admiral. He probably knows Grumpy, too. That leaves the two of us. So, how do we flush out a killer kitty?"
Logan shrugged. "Catnip? Maybe?" He replied having no clue. It had been a long time since Logan ever ran into another Caitian. The last encounter he had didn't go so well, for reasons he could not explain because he didn't know. The thought of running into a Caitian who seems to have no remorse in killing another would be far more dangerous than the last encounter.
"Okay, then Logan and I will get together and see if we can come up with some creative uses for catnip." She blew Logan a kiss before turning to Admiral Hunter and LeBeau. "We'll let you know as soon as we come up with something."
"Don't you mean, come up for air?" Remy replied quickly.
Logan crossed his arms over his chest and cleared his throat. "We'll find a way, Boss. Just give us some time. If you want we can take Spock as a chaperon."
"Perfect," Jayna agreed with a grin. "We'll take the catnip and Spock and report back tomorrow. That should give us plenty of time to come up with a plan."
Without giving anyone time to argue, Jayna turned to Logan. "Come on, we don't want to waste any time."
With a nod to the others in the room, she and Logan made a hasty retreat to find some catnip.
