Mission:
Deadly Diplomacy
Location: Shuttle Bay on Calypso
ON
The shuttle bay doors opened as the Delta Flyer marked as the Horus floated slowly in and landed. Remy, behind the piloting controls, tapped at the console and began to shut down the craft. Logan went through the process securing the data on the system and making sure all the firewalls were in place.
"Did I forget to mention how much I hate Galaxy Class Starships?" Remy spoke as he unbuckled his belt and turned the chair to face Logan.
"Because they are too big?" Logan replied with a slight smirk.
"No." Remy answered, getting up and straightening up his uniform. "Because they bring back too many memories of my first assignment."
Logan raised a brow as he stood up from his seat. Spock, the Capuchin, squeaked as he crawled along the top of the console and leaped onto Logan's shoulder, wrapping his tail slightly around the large Caitian's neck. "You never told me that story."
"And never will." Remy replied with a slight smile as he walked off toward the back. "Come on. Let's go meet our new pains in the butt."
Logan let out a laugh and began to walk, followed Remy.
Sam walked into the shuttle bay with Jayna, curious to see the . "Why do I get the feeling I'm not going to be pleased with the crew?" It was partially because of Storm and Schmidt, but there was also a niggling feeling in the back of her mind that warned her she wasn't going to like this.
"Because you've met Lieutenant LeBeau before?" Jayna quipped.
Sam stopped and turned to Jayna. "Seriously?"
Jayna nodded. "Yeah. Sorry."
Sam groaned softly and continued on to where the shuttle sat, going through it's arrival shutdown.
The ramp of the Delta Flyer opened slowly to reveal the two, and a half, new arrivals. Remy, though short in stature, walked down the ramp towards the group with a stern look and confidence in every step. Behind him the large Caitian Logan followed, with a long raggedy hood and cloak and two large cases in his hand. On his shoulder stood Spock, the Capuchin, his tail gently draped over Logan's shoulder, his eyes and head darting back and forth at everything that moved, finally focusing on Jayna and letting out a content screech.
Spock, squeaked as he leaped off Logan's shoulders and darted across the shuttle bay floor toward Jayna. When he reached her, he leaped into her arms and cooed in delight. Logan laughed softly as Remy just shook his head disappointingly.
"Hi, Spock!" she said, hugging the Capuchin. "I missed you." Her glance turned to Logan and she smiled. "Grumpy doesn't pay you enough for a decent wardrobe?" she teased.
Remy stopped in front of the group, letting out a slight sigh as he looked over to Jayna with his hands behind his back. "Ahh... Lieutenant Jayna Mira, how I missed your.... quirkiness." Remy replied with a less enthusiastic tone of voice. "Here I was hoping your detour was permanent."
Logan smiled back at Jayna as he placed the large trunks down on the ground. "I wasn't"
"No.. I would imagine you wouldn't." Remy replied, looking over to York with a smile. "Commodore York? Rembrandt Batiste, Lieutenant Batista if you prefer. I'm your new Chief of Intelligence. The Caitian behind me is my assistant Logan. That is Spock, Infiltration's officer and general pain in the ass."
"And that is why Spock and I get along so well," Jayna announced. "I'm the other pain in his backside -- and the other assistant chief in his department." She blew Remy a mocking air kiss.
Then she turned to Logan, her eyes dancing merrily. "I think my first duty is to see you get some ... proper ... clothes to wear."
"You know I don't do uniforms, Jayna. I'm much too big for it, and besides, I'm not Starfleet." Logan smiled slightly, crossing his arms over his chest as he continued. "However, I wouldn't mind watching you try on outfit after outfit and telling you which ones look delicious."
"Alright. Enough you two. My mind can't stand the tension between you two. Either find a room and get it over with or save it for when you two are alone and far away from me." Remy replied quickly. He looked over to York as he shook his head adding a slightly disappointing sigh. "You see what I have to deal with? In such a confined space, no less."
"I never said uniform," Jayna insisted. She wasn't sure trying on clothes would be on her list of things to do with Logan, but she wasn't going to mention that in public. She had to bite her tongue to keep from making a comment about confined spaces.
"Yes, I see," said Sam, trying not to laugh -- especially after picking up on Jayna's thoughts. "Welcome to the Calypso," she said. "I've heard a lot about you and your ship."
