Mission:
Deadly Diplomacy
Location: Vance's Quarters
ON
Amarylis left the conference room rubbing her eyes and face as she sauntered to the turbo lift. The outpour of emotion had exhausted her both physically and mentally, the briefing had only prolonged her exhaustion to near collapse and she needed a place to rest quickly.
Instinct brought her to Vance's quarters. What she saw next took away the exhaustion in a way no rest could.
Amarylis tapped her commbadge frantically driving herself back into a corner of the living area.
=^=COMMODORE YORK!!!! OH DEAR GOD SHE'S HERE. LOCK THE SHIP DOWN, OH MY GOD!=^= she shrieked in a blood curdling tone bursting into tears gripping a phaser with an unsteady hand and pointing it around the room.
In the opposite corner, dimly lit by a single light. A women crouched facing the wall. Stripped of all clothing, whimpering as blood dripped to the floor from several fresh whip marks which had cut deeply into her back.
"This isn't real, this isn't real." Amarylis kept chanting to herself.
On a table beside the woman, a PADD was leaned to face Amarylis' direction.
Forget me not.
"On my way," Sam replied. "Computer, where is Sergeant Beckinsale?"
"Sergent Beckinsale is in Commander Vance's quarters."
Sam ran to Vance's quarters and opened the door. She paused just inside the door to look around. "What the..."
She tapped her combadge. "Security and medical to Commander Vance's quarters."
Sam saw the PADD and glanced at Amarylis. "We'll take care of this." She hoped. Then she grabbed a blanket off the bed and covered the woman in the corner. "The doctor is on her way. Can you tell me what happened?"
Amarylis was panting heavily still holding the phaser looking wide-eyed at the woman in the corner. "That...it's exactly like I found her.....only she would know."
Sam nodded at Amarylis. "Computer, who put the woman in this room?" Sam asked. It was meant to deliver a message, to prove a point, but Sam was not going to let it intimidate her. Security was on its way and they'd help get to the bottom of this.
"Ensign Landry was transported." the computer replied.
"Computer, from where?" Sam asked.
"Source not available." the computer replied.
"Was she transported from within the ship?"
"Unknown." The computer replied.
Sam turned to Amarylis. "When this is over, I want a complete overhaul of the ship's security."
Frost stood outside the door she hesitated for a few seconds. Finally she pressed the door chime to open the door and entered and visually scanned the area concern in her eyes. "Captain?"
Sam nodded to the woman in the corner, now covered by a blanket. "We have a medical emergency."
Frost nodded and stepped quietly to the woman's side and quietly flipped open her tricorder and started her scans. "It's going to be ok." Ilse said softly and hoped it would. When she saw the whip marks her stomach lurched in revulsion. "Who would do such a thing?"
"It was her...." Amarylis said from across the area burying her face into her knees.
"A very sick person," Sam interjected. "Security has been called."
"I'm so sorry Sam. I'm so sorry." Amarylis whimpered.
Sam went to Amarylis and hugged her. "It's not your fault. It's not Alexandra's fault. We'll deal with this. Okay?"
"Okay." Amarylis said nodding. "The whip marks. How fresh are they?"
Sam looked to Frost for the answer. "Doctor?"
Ilse glanced up at the Captain the look on Frost's face was mixed. On one hand she wanted to vomit and the other she felt great concern. "A few hours old, at the most." Ilse picked up a hypospray to block the pain the woman must be feeling and dosed her generously. The skin would tug and burn still but there would be some relief. "How long before Security arrives? I want to get her to sickbay and get these injuries properly taken care of." Frost started to additional scans to make sure that there was nothing else wrong.
"Damn..." Amarylis said slapping her knee in frustration. "Long gone..."
"How did she get onto the ship?" Sam asked Amarylis.
"She probably got someone to do her dirty work for her. Whether by transporter or mole, the evidence is long gone by now." Amarylis replied in a defeated tone.
Frost started to talk to herself as she had the computer make notes for security. "Seven lacerations on the back of female between the T4 and T12 vertebrae, left side." Frost stopped and scanned some more to see what internal damage there was.
"I think we may need more help on this." Sam tapped her combadge. "Captain Bourne to Commander Vance's quarters."
Down in the Gym on the Marine Deck, Cam was bench pressing some weights when Sam's call came through. Finishing off the set he was on, Cam placed the bar on it's hooks, reached into his pocket and pulled out his combadge, "on my way" he said, quickly changing shirts to his spare, he picked up his gym bag and headed out.
