And as for Alexandra. If you really think she's still alive. Then you take Morat down and you will win her trust and find yourself one of the most loyal friends you'll ever have. If you're family to Alex there is no line she won't cross to protect you.

She did this for you Sam. She did this for your ship, your crew and your way of life. Don't you let her die in vain. I beg you ma'am. Do me this one last honour for my friend and I will swear you my life, loyalty, anything. Please..." she pleaded clasping her hands together. "Find it in your heart to forgive her."
"I knew about the Cardassian prison," Sam said. "I didn't know about the Starfleet officer. You should have told someone because if you had, we might never have come to this point." She ran a hand through her hair and sighed. "I don't believe in vigilante justice, but I also don't like it when people who are supposed to be in positions of authority use their positions to hurt others. I don't know about Morat, but I am going to look into whoever is behind this at Starfleet Command."
"Told who? Starfleet Command? Intelligence?" Amarylis stood up throwing her arms in the air. "For all we knew they were the ones trying to kill her. I didn't see the colour of his collar so I don't know who it was, just that he was a flag officer. You said it yourself you don't trust Starfleet Command and neither do I. Don't be a bureaucrat like them Samantha. They brought the fight to your door and I'll be damned if I let them through. It's time to drop the gloves.
You're about to find out just how far you will go...."
Sam's laughter was harsh. "That's the mistake both you and Alexandra made. You think because I'm a scientist and now a Starfleet Captain I don't know how to fight, that I've never had to choose to kill. You're both wrong." She wasn't going to give details, didn't think it mattered, but she'd made hard choices and she'd killed people to survive. She didn't regret those choices.
"As for whom to trust," Sam continued, "we have Admirals Burke, Hunter and Panthera on board the Calypso. I trust all three of them. I know all three of them will help get to the bottom of this sorry mess. I don't trust Command as a whole, but I trust them. I trust Damon with my life. There are a few others. I trust them to find out what's going on. They have the resources and the connections. I choose not to stick my head in the sand and believe that I have to do this alone. I'm not that foolish."
"Never assume Commodore. I know you have the fighting spirit: I've been around for a while. But you see, Morat has a talent for bringing out the worst in people. She prays on that which they hold dear and uses it to manipulate them. I don't want her to poison you like she did Alexandra.
As for those you trust...A friend of yours is a friend of mine." Amarylis said as she stood before York at her desk.
"Thank you. I assure you, I'm very grateful for the support of the people I trust. I would like your help in finding the truth of what happened."
"Of course, anything you need." Amarylis said showing a hint of happiness for the first time since she entered the room.
Sam walked around her desk and gave Amarylis a hug. "We will find out what happened, and if Alexandra is alive, we'll bring her back."
Amarylis reciprocated the hug and began to cry squeezing a little tighter. "I hope so. I don't know what I'll do without her."
"You've got the Calypso family," Sam assured her. "We can't replace her -- and I hope we won't have to -- but we're here if you need us."
"You're not alone. That's the last thing I told her" She wept harder as she remembered their last moments. I have a strange request. I know I'm a marine, but I'd like to wear one of her shirts for a little while. I miss her so much...." she broke down before she could finish her sentence.
"Of course. I will give you access to her quarters. Perhaps you can find some clue as to what happened as well," Sam said.
"Thank you so much. I...I don't know how I'll repay you Commodore." Amarylis replied gratefully.
"Help me find the truth. That's repayment enough," Sam assured her. "And let me know if there's anything I can do for you."
Amarylis leaned back from York and looked her in the eye. "There is one thing Samantha. If we do find Morat, you've gotta kill her. Don't hesitate, show no mercy. I know it's not your thing but she is merciless and she won't stop until she has destroyed everything. She's a disease, we cannot allow her influence to spread anymore. I'm so sorry." she bowed her head.
"I won't kill unless I have to," Sam said. "But there are other ways to remove a woman like her. I will leave her to Hunter and Panthera. Okay?"
Amarylis nodded affirmatively before letting out a long drawn yawn. "I think I need some sleep." she said.
Sam hugged her again and stepped back, nodding. "Agreed. Get some sleep. I'll talk to you later."
