Mission: Deadly Diplomacy

Sam slipped the PADD into a pocket and nodded. "Thank you. Please inform Lieutenant Munich that I will not be back to the reception. I need to go find Colonel Raine." It wasn't hard for her to locate Damon. She needed to see him, to tell him what happened. Outwardly she remained calm -- had to remain calm -- but right now what she needed most was Damon and a chance to cry in private.

The officer nodded and moved through the crowds to Lieutenant Munich. "Pardon the interruption sir. Commodore York asked me to inform you she had some urgent business to attend and will be unable to return to the reception."

"Looks like the meet and greet has just taken a turn for the unexpected." Munich said as he nodded. "Guess I should be attending to the Delegates and show them dis iz not even a skipped heartbeat." Her German accent more pronounced. "Keep me updated, this reception just got a lot longer for me." He started towards the delegation.

Ignatz gave a low rumbling growl in his chest, meant as warning to Teena, "Sam got bad news and won't be back, we need to babysit Munich before he blows this up. He did't even get to look over the reports at all."

Andrews was seated, looking around, when she had noticed the Security Officer and Commodore York whispering. After the Commodore left, she tried to get his attention. "Excuse me, but can you tell us, (motioning to the others sitting,) what's going on?"

"The Commodore just had some urgent business to attend to, you know how it is. Nothing to worry about Lieutenant." the officer replied.

Andrews just shook her head. "Yeah, right.."

"That didn't seem like just nothing." Ilse said quietly as she glanced at the now closed door where York had left, the Captain had appeared to be in shock.

"Unfortunately I'm not exactly sure what is going on. I was just sent to retrieve the Commodore. You'll have to ask her when she's next available." the officer answered.

Andrews smiled. "Certainly, we'll do that." All the while thinking to herself 'I'm sure we'll hear from her sooner than we'd ever hear back from you, you twit.'

Dr. Frost nodded at the Security Officer. "Thank You." She looked around and noted that delegates needed attending too and Ilse would assist if she could. She stepped up to Munich and asked quietly "Lieutenant, how can I assist with the situation?"

"Doctor, if you wish to talk with the Octovian Delegation, Dey are women and I fear that my skills around females is not my strong suit." He suggested.

"I'll assist you, Doctor Frost," Arnon piped in. "I have experience with women...and xenopsychology."

Andrews also spoke. "Doc, if you need an extra hand, I'm available. I'll have a Science Team down there to help with the investigation."

Frost took a steadying breath she thought she would be brushed aside for Counselor Sparticus to deal with the delegates."If that is what is required, I will do that." With a smile at Arnon she said "and Counselor I would love your assistance."

"Security to Acting Chief Sirel. Please report to the Bridge." A voice came over Kela's combadge.

She quickly stepped aside and tapped it, responding. "This is Sirel. On my way." Kela then walked out of the reception area, on Samantha's heels, as it were.

Spartacus backed tactfully away a step before turning; she did not want to be within reach of that woman's blade. It would seem she had caused enough strife in the reception so Spartacus opted to bow out and head towards the food line, she could get something to drink and give distance this time. The Aura outside the room mingled with the people in the room; it must be that Dark hair representative; the most warrior like aura, dark passionate hues mixing with a cold breeze to swirl about. That woman wanted to fight. Spartacus did not envy the Security Guard opposite her, there would be a stare down contest with a pretty and deadly woman; poor guy was beat in that one.

Spartacus smiled, she had been called worst herself by some who thought an Orion was always ready and willing?

"Think a little bit louder, eh, you even double entendre in your head, Teena." Ignatz grinned, "Since you don't feel comfy around the warrior, I can take on that kettle, leaving you with the..."

"She is the leader of their people; I caused an insult." Spartacus said as she tried not to glare. "She is okay in the looks department but she thinks I am some Kitten trying to impress with my regalia." She turned to smile to Ignatz. "You are sweet, they are all yours, I think they need a good man to set them straight." SHe took a glass off the tray of teh server moving about. "SHe had her hand on hers, it would have been a challenge to beaqt her out with a blade in the draw." Spartacus was seething. "But the way she reached hey do not throw blades at the start, that might have been her downfall?" Spartacus shook her head. "She all but said I was a loose woman to dress like a ..." She did not continue.

"I do not find you to be loose, dear. A matriarchal society, this will be interesting to say the least." steeling himself inside, he walked straight past her guards with a lithe grace few besides a Caitian could have pulled off even as he heard the rasping of hidden blades, he flowed down to one knee, "Mistress, I have been assigned as the diplomatic envoy for your people, if you will allow a humble servant of the goddess to perform as such for you." Ignatz didn't dare to raise his head, knowing that doing so might shorten his life and his neck equally.

Doctor Frost gasped slightly and then held her breath as she watched the Caitian humble himself. She wanted to look away but was transfixed on the situation the whole while she wondered if a medical emergency was about to occur.

Lyntah gave a slight grin as someone knew how to show respect, she took her hand from her dirk and with an matriah style nod gave her approval. "May the Goddess of your choosing bless your efforts." She stepped closer and put a hand on his shoulder. "I am touched that a man can show such respect, this Federation trains their males in proper respect towards a female I see?"

"Alas, I fear that this is because I was enlightened. The Federation for the most part believes in equality of the sexes, female, male and others for some races. I am a priest and this ship's diplomat, I am expected to understand and show the proper respects, Mistress." Ignatz rose slowly and gave a sad smile, being sure to keep his shoulders slumped and his head looking downwards.

"I approve," Lyntah said, placing her hand on Ignatz' shoulder. "You may show me around your ship."

"By your command, mistress." said Ignatz with a bow.

The reception continued without further incident, fortunately. As the personnel began to filter back to their quarters, the delegates were led to their quarters.
