Murder Most Foul (part 1)

Posted on Tue Sep 16th, 2014 @ 11:02am by Commodore Samantha York & Ensign Kela Sirel & Lieutenant JG Teenah Spartacus

824 words; about a 4 minute read

Mission: Deadly Diplomacy
Location: VIP Quarters: Paneria Seven Delegation
Timeline: Morning, Alpha Shift

ON

0800 and the Panerian Delegation had not come to breakfast. There was only an hour left before the talks were to commence and Sam had a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach that something was terribly wrong.

To keep from drawing attention to the situation, she chose to use telepathy rather than walk across the room to speak with Ensign Spartacus. "Teenah, go check on the Panerians, please."

*Right away Samantha.* Spartacus spun on her heels and started for the door, eating her last wedge of toast before exiting into the corridor.

The quarters for VIP were not all that far away as Spartacus made her way to them. She pressed the chime; no response, she pressed it again. There was something not right as Spartacus did not get ANY Empathic emminations

"Computer, Medical Emergency SParta Gamma Three Four Green..." She said quickly as she grabbed her Tricorder like a Security would their weapon.

The place was dark yet she felt nothing but herself; teh light glow of the Tricorder seemed the only light in the room. Spartacus did not even realize once she entered the lights should have activated even in a low lighting, the Emergency Protociols were off-line obviously.

The tricorder read no life signs as the room was not so much of a mess other than a turned over chair with a figure half on and half off it; she looked to her right to see the other man ; the first victim as he fell before drawing his weapon.

The victim on the floor seemed to have been beaten very badly. With several marks showing internal bleeding and what looked like a broken neck. The other victim, the one in the chair, had a more brutal death as he had a bladed weapon sticking out of his chest and a look of utter surprise. The blade itself was sticking out of his chest and piercing any internal organs only to come out of the other side. It seemed like it kept the body pinned to the chair, and it also seemed to send a message more then anything else. One that was far more intended than the victim on the ground.

Spartacus gasped as she hit her Comm Badge =^= Spartacus to Ensign Sirel, Security Alert Emergency, come to VIP quarters immediately." She managed to remain calm in her tone.

-=Sirel's Quarters=-

Kela woke up from her bed and quickly reached for the small voice coming from the combadge on her bedside table. Quickly she tapped it and took a moment to gain herself before answering it. "This is Sirel. On my way."

She quickly sat up and ran to the bathroom, taking a few moments to splash some watching in her face and fix her hair. Kela then walked back to her bedroom and proceeded to get back into uniform, trying to do it as quickly as possible, all the while fighting a slight headache. Once she was all ready she quickly walked by the mirrior and check herself before proceeding out the door and down the corridor.

-=VIP Quarters=-

*Samantha! get to VIP Quarters Now!* She mentally screamed to the Commanding Officer while stepping forward slowly towards the back wall.

Limp but unable to fall was the lead delegate, the pool of blood right below him, Spartacus did not have to read the Tricorder to know he was dead, the Sword protruding from his body was enough to confirm his terminated life.

"Fate and Dystany beware..." Spartacus said as she slowly turned around the room, letting the tricorder get a holographic representation footage of the 'crime scene' and her 'contamination' could be filtered out in later analysis.

[VIP Conference Room]

When Sam heard the mental shout from Spartacus she excused herself and walked sedately to the VIP quarters. She wanted to hurry as the tone in Sparta's thoughts was almost frantic, but she dared not draw attention to the emergency.

However, when Sam reached the door to the VIP quarters she stopped at the partially open door -- a fact that in and of itself surprised her. The scene before her when she walked inside surprised her more. "What happened?" she asked Sparta.

"They were long dead when I arrived, I am sorry Samantha, I was too far away in my quarters to maintain a connection, I-I did not sense anything ma'am." Spartacus felt she had let down her Commanding officer. "You left them in my care and I failed you Smantha, I-I should have been closer to sense their emotional spike, and then maybe the one who did this would not have been so easy. " She admit, wishing she had been taught on Betazed how to use her heritage rather than some rogue Telepath that was for hire by the Syndicate.
