Mission: Falling Star
Location: Nightstar

ON

-== Nightstar Sickbay ==--

Slowly Damion began to wake up, recognizing the ceiling right away. They were onboard the Nightstar. The Sickbay which meant they were now deep in the lions den. With a slight groan he tried to turn his head to looked around, noticing a few empty beds on one side and Ronnie on one biobed on the other. Damion was worried about her condition. He couldn't stand to see her in a condition like that. "Ronnie?" He softly called out as he tried to move, but found he was being held down by a force field. "Ronnie? Baby? Come on, talk to me. Can you hear me?"

Ronnie slowly became aware of Damion speaking to her. She opened her eyes and blinked several times as she tried to focus on the ceiling. "I...yeah," she croaked as she tried to get her voice to work.

"Can you move?" Damion asked as he looked back up toward the ceiling and thought for a moment.

She tried to raise up and couldn't. "No."

"Ronnie? I'm sorry. I should have never got you into this." He let out a sigh as he closed his eyes. "I should have dropped you off at the nearest Federation Starship or Planet. I-I just couldn't. I just could't leave things the way I did. I needed you to know the truth."

"I'm glad I stayed," she said, still struggling to form words. She needed water. She closed her eyes, still smelling the gas. And a shower. "It's okay." She tried contacting him telepathically. "I'm not sorry."

Damion smiled hearing her say that. It was then he heard the sound of the doors sliding opened and closed. Because of the position of the bed he couldn't see who came in so there was no way to tell who it was. "Ronnie, keep your eyes closed. Don't make any sudden movements."

"Got it." She closed her eyes and slowed her breathing to simulate sleep.

Slowly, Damion took in a deep breath and gave a slight smile as he began to speak. "Well, you used the door so you can't be the Holo-Doc. You don't smell, so your not the mindless Nausicann Grole. Which leaves only one of three people."

"You know if Grole heard you call him mindless, you might not be breathing." A familiar voice suddenly spoke up. It was slightly rugged and deep. A voice Damion recognized all to well. One he couldn't get out of his head, no matter how much he tried.

"It would be the only way the big oaf could kill me." Damion added with a smile. "Hello Stryfe. It's been a very long time."

"I have to admit, Wolf. Your the last person I would expect to be showing up here, but then again. You have gotten yourself in quite the situation, haven't you?" Stryfe replied as he slowly began to make his way towards Ronnie.

Damion could hear the footsteps approaching, but he knew they weren't coming from his direction. Quickly he turned his head from side to side and finally caught a glimpse of Captain Stryfe approaching Ronnie. "I guess I am not cut out for the traditional tour of duty, eh Captain."

"She is a pretty girl, Wolf. I recognize her from the video." Stryfe smiled as he lowered his hand slowly, running his fingers through Ronnie's hair before pulling it away and looking toward Damion. "I can't stop watching it. Seeing Vance get hit like that. Always brings a tear to my eye."

It was a good thing Stryfe wasn't paying attention as his touch made Ronnie cringe slightly. Still, she had to fight to keep from pulling away from his touch and was relieved that it was brief.

"Consider it my gift to you. Along with an application to return to the Nightstar." Damion said, struggling a bit. He was trying to sit up, pushing his body against the forcefield. It stung a bit, but he had to in order to get to Ronnie. Damion kept to a cold tone, almost trying to hold back his emotion and only showing angry and hostility. If Gregory were an empath he might pick up on the deception, but he wasn't. However, Stryfe was smart and knew Damion.

"Tell me. Was she in on the plan?" Stryfe asked, looking back down towards Ronnie.

"No. I took advantage of the situation and it worked out nicely. I improvised. Just like the old days." Damion said with a smirk as he watched him closely.

Stryfe looked back over to Damion quickly. "That's just it, Damion. It's not the old days anymore, is it? You've changed. We all have. The important thing, right now, is whether or not you can be trusted."

"I came to you!" Damion yelled suddenly as he pushed his body against the forcefield which sparked for a few seconds before he pulled away and lay back down. "I came searching for you because I have no where else to go! I killed someone!"

"Something you never had an issue with before."

"Not when it was an ally. Not a friend." Damion replied quickly, narrowing his eyes slightly. "Your put a Borg, Gorn, or Cardy in front of me and I will glady put a hole in their chest. But some from Starfleet? Someone I came to trust? It's not the same."

"And now, here you are. With leverage." Stryfe shifted his gaze back to Ronnie. "Your brought me a beautiful little blue bird. Does the blue bird sing?" He said softly as he leaned down, leaning closer towards Ronnie. "Are you awake, Miss Lancaster?" Stryfe whispered softly, than suddenly slammed his hands by her ears trying to startle her awake. "At attention, Lieutenant!"

Ronnie jumped and opened her eyes, but said nothing. "I can't," she replied.

"Sorry." Stryfe smiled a bit. Ronnie couldn't explain it, but seeing him smile didn't feel right. It made her feel uneasy. "Safety precaution. This is still an Intelligence ship. There is no telling who you can trust and who you can't." He tapped on the console beside her biobed, removing the forcefield and allowing her to move freely. Stryfe than walkedover to Damion's biobed and did the same.
