Mission: Deadly Diplomacy

ON

The transporter effect released her and lieutenant Austin Brown looked around the transporter room. She reached forget case, picking it up and slinging it over her shoulder. She stepped off the pad and nodded to the transporter chief as she exited into the corridor. She pressed her hand to the LCARS panel on the wall. "Computer locate crew quarters for lieutenant Austin Brown.

[Lieutenant Brown's quarters are located as indicated. Follow the yellow indicators to your destination. ]

"Well I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get squared away before reporting in." She said to herself as she walked toward her assigned quarters. She entered and tossed her case on the bed. she quickly freshened up in the sink and then turned to make her way to the bridge. as she crossed the corridor and entered the turbo lift. she called for the bridge.

Brown straightened her tunic as the lift came to a halt and the doors opened. she stepped onto the bridge and rounded the command area. "Lieutenant Austin Brown, reporting for duty Sir." she said with a respectful stance at attention as she handed the Captain a PADD with her orders.

Sam was looking over the ship's readiness report when she heard Austin. She looked up and smiled as she took the PADD and thumbed through it, looking over the data. Then she affixed her thumbprint to it and handed it back. "Welcome aboard, Lieutenant Brown."

"Thank you sir. I'm glad to be here." she replied still standing at a respectful attention.

"At ease," Sam said. "Tell me what brings you to the Calypso."

"to be honest sir, I wanted a challenge. Not that The Aurora wasn't a challenge but she is a small ship. I wanted to test my self with a ship of the line. "

"Well, the Calypso can definitely be a challenge," Sam joked. It was a long story and Sam didn't want to get into it, but there had been more than one time when the assignments she'd gone on were definitely out of the ordinary.

"I see you only just arrived. Do you have any questions of me?" Sam asked.

"My orders to rendezvous with the Calypso mentioned that she was just returning from a mission. My only question at this time sir would be How soon I can report to my post" She didn't want to seem to forward, but after a week of sitting in guest quarters aboard the Akatsuki, she was eager to do something constructive.

"As soon as you settle in to your quarters," Sam answered. "Check in with Lieutenant Munich. He's the head of Communications and has been doing double duty with Ops. He can get you up to speed."

"Understood sir, I will do that" Austin nodded. "Thank you."

Munich had seen to the Feed array of the Southwest array, the adjustments were minor but when completed culd radically enhance the Communications Array.

"Sorry ma'am." He said as he entered the Bridge towards the Communications Console. "It was nothing a sure hand could not put right." HE smiled as he noticed a new person and the face was familiar to a transfer he had seen come through the Operations network. "THings are back on track."

"That's quite all right," Sam assured him. "Meet our new Chief of Operations, Lieutenant Austin Brown."

"Pleasure to meet you. " Brown said as she held out her hand.

"Hans Munich..." Munich clicked his heels and bowed slightly as the German military schools had taught him to do. "Iz a pleasure to meet you as vell."

"The two of you will be working together a great deal," Sam said. "Especially on the bridge."

"I Look forward to it." Brown nodded.

Sam nodded. "I won't keep either of you. Lieutenant Munich, I'll leave Lieutenant Brown in your capable hands." She stood and nodded to both of them, then went over to the science station to talk to the officer on duty.
