Mission: Revenge
[CONTINUED]
[OLD]
As the Orion departed down the corridor Vance searched the dead guards for keys to the cells. She found a key ring on the belt of one of the guards and proceeded in the direction in which the slave girl indicated. Within only a few moments, Alexandra found herself at the cell containing the Calypso crew.
[NEW]
She hastened opened the lock to the cell and approached Samantha.
"Commodore York...." she paused for a moment grasping for words before presenting the disruptors. "Armaments for the impending fight. We need all able bodied personnel prepared for an attack, we've only got about twenty minutes. Is anyone badly injured?" she asked.
Sam stared at the woman for several moments. "Alexandra?" she asked.
"Yes Commodore? Are you okay?" she asked concernedly wondering if she was again suffering from memory loss.
Sam looked beyond Vance. "Where are the Marines?"
"I presume they have beamed down to the planet and are on approach to this location. However I believe the guards will become alerted of our intrusion before they arrive and we will need to hold our ground until then. Where are the members of security? and Amarylis? Where is Sergeant Beckinsale?" Alexandra asked looking around for her friend.
"Six security guards have been killed. Korok and Amarylis were taken out of the cell," Sam replied.
Alexandra cringed taking a couple steps towards the exit of the cell before stopping and turning back. As much as she wanted to go after Amarylis she could not leave York and the remaining members behind. Confrontation in an open arena with the enemy undoubtedly having the high ground was also unwise. She would have to hope Amarylis could hold out until such a time Alexandra could come to her aid.
"How did you get in here?" Sam asked. "Can the others get out the same way?" She had no intention of leaving until all her people were safe, but if she could get most of them out, if would make her job that much easier.
"I was transported into the tunnels beneath this facility. Returning the same way is inadvisable as I had the element of surprise and small numbers. We would sustain casualties if we attempted such a plan, in addition their are roving patrols we may encounter. Our only chance of survival with minimal casualties is to remain here and allow the marines to handle the assault. Once they arrive here they can escort you to a safe zone and return you to the Calypso." Alexandra replied.
People would die no matter how they chose to get out, Sam thought. "I'm not going to run away," she said aloud. "We do this together."
==Corridor ==
She had gotten someone to the Calypso Crew, why had the Marines taken so long to get here and why was the place still only on minor alert, the klaxons of an attack were only now starting to sound. The Syndicate were effective and only when provoked do they really show their power.
"I need ... Leverage..." She said aloud and dashed down a corridor hoping not to end running into another patrol?
[Arena]
Korok was shoved into the arena where Nero waited. "Have you not learned, Klingon? My word is law. Every time you disobey me, one of your people dies."
"So, your killing klingon's and Bajorans?" Korok retorted back in his deep growl even as he tried to move forward. He wanted nothing better then to throttle the man.
"I kill anyone who opposes me," Nero retorted. "So far, your petty attempts at rebellion have amused me. But no more." He signaled to his guards and the other door opened. A Starfleet security officer was pushed into the arena. "I could simply shoot him, but that teaches you nothing. So now, you will have to kill one of your own. That, or be killed by him."
In a loud voice so all could hear, Nero announced, "This fight will be to the death."
Korok looked across at the other man and swallowed his mind went to his soon to be family and he rolled his neck and stretched his shoulders to loosen them. His ribs still hurt so he did not twist as he really wanted to. Korok growled to himself. "Prophets if you care anything for me, be with me now and if you don't then to Sto-vo-kor I hope I go."
The security officer looked at Korok and paled. He recognized the Klingon and didn't want to fight him, but at the same time, he knew that if they DIDN'T fight, both men would be killed.
Korok took a step forward and glowered at the man. "Let's do this."
The security officer took a swing at Korok, hitting him in the jaw.
Korok didn't flinch at the man's punch then he growled low at the man. "You know I don't want to do this right? I don't want to kill you." He attempted to swing and swung slightly short and tagged the man's chin but not hard. "You have a family?"
"Not the talkative type." Korok stated "would be nice to know if I had to worry about some kids or wife or your significant other after I kill you." Korok shrugged as if to say he no longer cared. He was tired and wanted to be far away from this place. He stepped in and swung hitting the man's jaw with the back side of his fist then he came around with the other and attempted to hit his ribs. Finally he kicked at the man's calf.
The man kicked Korok as hard as he could in the knee, causing it to buckle backwards. Then, free from the Klingon's grasp, he kicked him again in the jaw.
Before Korok could retaliate, he moved out of reach and prepared for the next assault.
Korok growled in pain and took a few deep breaths. Tested his lag and narrowed his eyes and moved forward again, ever watchful, he studied the man's eyes as he knew they woudl tell him when eh was about to try something. When he got close enough Korok swung at the man once more with his left and then as the man tried to dodge Korok grabbed him around his core and toppled him over and sat on him. He grabbed his hair with one hand and proceeded to hit him in repeatedly in the face.
