Mission: Revenge
Location: Kara's Quarters

ON

Kara lay curled up along the back wall, her face towards the door so that she could see everything going on in the room. She'd fought twice so far. Nothing serious, so they were either toying with her or testing her. She wasn't sure if she should be pleased or put out.

Sitting in Kara's Quarters, Cam was flicking through the book Kara had been reading before she dissapeared. It made him feel more relaxed and in control while he was in her room, even if she wasn't there in person. Closing the book, he closed his eyes and laid his head back on Kara's pillow, enjoying the sent.

After a few moments, Cam thought he heard whispering, "Computer lights" he ordered, sitting up as the lights came on. Looking around, he couldn't see anyone but he could still hear the whispering. Reaching for his combadge, the voice became clearer and he started to recognise it. It was Kara's. focusing in on the voice, he tried to figure out what she was thinking.

Kara tried to sleep, but her mind kept flashing back to thearena, the battles. The death of Zane by the hand of Nero. There had to be a way out of this place. If only the Calypso could find them. But she wasn't sure how as she didn't know where they were or how they got there. From what she'd gathered, she and the others had been unconscious for hours before they were beamed into the cell. They could be anywhere.

She opened her eyes and looked around the dim cell as if she could see through the walls if she only concentrated hard enough...

-Kara's Quarters, USS Calipso-

Hearing Kara's voice start to slip away, Cam walked back into the bedroom, sat on the end of the bed with his legs crossed, closed his eyes and focused all of his concentration on the voice, ~Kara, Kara, Kara~ he thought to himself, hoping that if he made himself think about her, he could amplify their Imzadi bond and get a sence of something. Weather or not she was ok, where she was, what she could be thinking, anything that might help find her

[Prison Cell]
"Cam? Kara sat up and looked around. Had she just heard Cam? No. She shook her head. Must be imagining things. He was safely on the Calypso, fortunately. She didn't want to think of him in the arena. But it sure would be nice if he were close enough for her to feel his presence. As it was she could almost feel him. Almost.

-Kara's Quarters, USS Calypso-

Feeling Kara slip away again, Cam decided to try something he'd been researching. Locking the door, he sat down in the middle of the lounge room floor, closed his eyes and cleared his mind. After a few minutes, he focused in on their bond again, ~Kara, Imzadi, Can you hear me~

"Cam?" she asked. She looked around again. Then she closed her eyes and focused on Cam. "Where are you?"

~In your quarters aboard the Calypso. Where are you?~ Cam responded

"In a prison on a planet. We're here to fight in some sort of arena combat." She sent him an image of the arena and the cell. "I don't know where we are."

Processing the image, Cam was reminded of the Orion Mines, ~Are you ok? Have you been injured, or worse?~

"I'm okay. I've fought in the arena, but it wasn't to the death. Othere are dead, though. It seems this is all because York and Raine destroyed the mining facility last year." She flashed him an image of the mines. "They're going to kill us all, eventually."

~Damn, I wish I could be there with you, or at least find a way to locate you~

"I don't want you here," Kara replied quickly. "It's too dangerous. Besides, I would rather you find a way to get us out of here." She sent him a series of images of the arena, the cell, what had gone on so far, Nero, the guards. "That may not help you find us, but it'll help you know what to do when you get here." She couldn't help letting some of what she felt bleed through. A hint of fear, anger and a longing to have Cam with her again.

The emotions Cam was getting from Kara didn't help his emotional state. If anything they made it worse, ~damn it, I feel like I'm going out of my mind. I have no idea what to do or how to find you and it's killing me~ Cam said, clenching his fists, ~I'm a Marine, not a Security or Tactical officer, I'm making sure the squads are ready for deployment but that's just not enough~

"I know," Kara reassured him. "You'll find us. Commodore York is working on this end to find a way out. Hey, we've been in worse before." She tried hard to sound cheerful, to help Cam feel better and not let her own worries bleed through. She had to be positive for as long as the link lasted.

Fortunately for Kara, Cam's emotions were blocking out Kara's. all he could feel right now was her thoughts. ~is there a way you could send a signal of some sort. Maybe phase it into the subspace radiation layers. Any sort of signal, even if it's just a series of pulces~

"Not as far as I can tell. We have no way to communicate, no way to send any sort of signal. Look for traffic. See if anyone comes in bringing more prisoners. That's all I can offer, I'm afraid." It was nothing, really. As far as Kara could tell, there was no way in the arena or the cells behind it to send any sort of signal that would make it more than ten meters. She tried to think of something, anything, that could help Cam, but in the end, had to admit defeat. "I've got nothing."

~Just stay safe. We'll find you~ Cam responded, feeling his need to do something get stronger, ~I have to go. Just remember your training and keep your head down Marine~

Kara sent a mental image of herself saluting, which melted into a a hug. "Take care of yourself." There was a noise at the door and Kara severed the mental connection.
