Leroy looked over his Peregrin fighter, making sure the landing struts and nacells were in order. Checking the bomb bay, the hatch for his gear and personal items, and finally checking the reports from the Engineers. The reports all looked well and the final bit of repairs from making sure that a small freighter wasn't harrased were all done. Some space debries had gotten through the shielding units and caused minor damage. It was insignificant, but the reflector dish had been changed out, along with the entire shielding unit. With the long trip ahead of him, he needed to make sure nothing would leave him stranded in space.
Climbing in the rear hatch, Leroy checked over the interior before climbing into the pilots seat. There was room for a gunner, but he never used one. With the eye implants he didn't need the tools that a gunner would. Running through start up, he received his clearance to leave the base one last time. Thanking control, he lifted off twenty minutes later, and started his way out of the dock.
As he left, he buzzed the command tower one last time as a salute to the men and women that worked there, and sped off in the direction of his newest adventure. Something new was coming his way, something that he felt real good about.
