"And now, by the power vested in me by Starfleet Command and the United Federation of Planets, I pronounce you husband and wife." She grinned at the two. "You may kiss the bride."

Max looked at Kathryn and ran his hand through her hair. He then leaned forward and kissed her passionately, moving her in closer to deepen the kiss. Diana clapped on the viewscreen happily.

Kathryn's three daughters grinned. Kelly wiped a tear from her cheek.

"Hey, mom, come up for air!" Kris teased. "Call us tomorrow. We want details."

Sabrina gave her a scandalized glare. "Of the courtship, silly," Kris corrected. Kelly just chuckled.

Max pulled back slightly and laughed at the comments from Kathryn's kids.

"Congratulations," Sam said quietly. She affixed her thumb print to the PADD, making the marriage official. Then, with a nod to the couple, she headed back to her office to file the forms.

Max smiled as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her passionately. He was to happy for words and could do nothing but kiss her in his excitement. Although he was usually good at hiding it on his face, he couldn't hide it from an empath even if he tried.

The girls congratulated the couple and then they, too, said their goodbyes. "Talk to you later, mom!"

Later that day, when all was said and done and it was just the two of them. Max and Sam shared a quick drink to celebrate amongst themselves. He then picked her up and carryied her to the bedroom with a smile. "I know its not a threshold, but I have the next best thing to finishing this night on a a great note."

She wrapped her arms around his neck and smiled. "I think it's already started on a great note," she teased. She couldn't help smiling at the man who was now her husband.

The doors opened as he carried her into the bedroom. The bed was covered in rose pedals and there was a bottle of champagne and two glasses on the small beside table waiting for them. He looked over to her and smiled as he looked back to the rose covered bed. "I wanted tonight to be special. At least for me anyway. I still have some more tricks up my sleeve, Mrs Hunter. Or are we sticking with our own last names?"

She looked at the bed and then back at Max. "You are a very special man," she said, kissing him on the cheek.

Then she answered his question. "Well, you were worried about people knowing we were married. I could stay Admiral Kathryn Burke in public, but in private I would be Mrs. Hunter. What do you think?"

"Sounds great to me." Max replied and smirked as he laid her on the bed and ran his hand through her hair slowly. "I just got you, Kathryn. I wouldn't want to lose you so quickly."

She smiled up at him and ran her fingers down his cheek. "You're not going to get rid of me, my love," she assured him.

He smiled back at her, taking in the fact that she referred to him as my love. The sound of the words out of her mouth make him feel much more relaxed then the norm. Max had no worries in the world, but staying in the one moment and making it last as long as possible. "Something tells me you wouldn't give anyone else much of a choice for that, either." He let out a soft and short chuckle, as he looked deep into her eyes.

She gazed back at him for several mometns, lost in the moment. "Only you have that choice," she said quietly.

"I guess I can tone down a bit, if you would like." Max replied with a smirk, as he let out a laugh and ran his hand through her hair again. "If you would tone down yourself."

"How do you suggest I tone down?" she asked.

Max laid down next to her and smiled a bit, turning his head to face her as he let out a slight laugh. "Not be so serious all the time. Enjoy yourself. Enjoy life." He paused a bit and then looked away slightly. "Take a vacation, somewhere we can both be and not have to worry about our jobs and just enjoy being an actual couple."

"I do enjoy life," she assured him. "I also enjoy my job." She turned on her side to face him. "However, I think taking a trip where the two of us can be just Max and Kathryn would be lovely."

"Maybe you can tell me more about that Inti Colony." Max smiled slightly, taking her hands in his.

"Inti? It's a science colony, mostly. But it seems to attract an interesting group of people," she said. "There's the colony itself, an underwater exploration facility, an observatory, a luxury resort and several mercenary groups. There's also a garbage scow and a colony of pirates."

Max paused for a moment and then laughed. "On second thought, maybe a place where we could NOT get into trouble would be better."

"Perhaps you're right. Besides, too many people know us there." She smiled softly. "Maybe we can take a shuttle and just go somewhere."

"If the Cerberus was still onboard, I would be able to get us some good looking and authentic fake identifications." Max said as he looked over to her with a smile and then nodded slightly.

"We've got time. I need to get back to Athena and catch up on the work I left behind to deal with the trial. Hopefully your shuttle will be back by the time I can get away again."

"Maybe." Max replied as he put his hand on the side of her face again and moved close to her. "Until then, this is our first night officially together. Surprisingly enough, I find myself very nervous. Almost like it were my first time."

"I'm a little trepidatious, too," she admitted. "I'm not young anymore, and I don't want you to have any regrets."

He put his hand on the side of her face and smiled. "I would never have any regrets when it came to you, Kathryn."

She looked in his eyes for several long moments, smiling softly. "I have no regrets about marrying you, Max. I love you."

Max smiled as he looked into her eyes. Those words never meant so much to him as they did now. He hadn't felt this way since his first wife and probably would never feel this way ever again with her. He leaned in slowly and whispered back softly. She could feel his breath lightly against her lips as he spoke. "I love you too, Kathryn." Before she had a moment to respond he locked lips with hers into a passionate and deep kiss.
