Mission: What Dreams May Come?
Location: various

[CONTINUED]

[OLD]

Sterling had always been a trusting soul and now he ws trusting his new friends and allies on Calypso not just with his life, but with something far more valuable to him, his sanity. Hemade himself relax, to slip into a deep sleep, not knowing exactly what to expect, but knowing it would not bode well for him if the plan didn't work.

[NEW]

The dream wasn't enough. The creature pulled more from the humanoid's subconscious. It had fed well over the past weeks. This puny specimen was insufficient for its needs.

Helga was monitoring Sterling's vitals. "He's deep in REM sleep. Something is happening. His vitals are erratic."

Sterling had been in a building being chased by something or someone. He would come up to a door he thought led outside , but it only led to another corridor, or room, or stairwell. Each time he slowed to open a door his pursuer got closer and closer.

As he glanced behind him the pursuer became a large demon with fangs for teeth, razor sharp claws for hands. It's tail was long and barbed. Finally he made it out into a courtyard and thought he had at last escaped Subconscously he thoght his friends were coming to his rescue. But then he looked up and though he could see the sky it did him no good. The courtyard was surrounded by a tall chain-link fenced topped by razor wire.

The door behind him burst open and the demon leapt on top of him. The dream had been bad, though he had had worse, but knew deep down it was all still a dream, a nightmare, nothing more. right up until the time the creature landed on him. The weight was a real weight, the pain real as well.

Then was flipped over on his back and he felt something tearing at his skin trying to get hold of his heart. That was when he woke up. He knew he wasn't just passing from one dream to another, but he actually woke up. And then he screamed, because the creature that had been in his nighmare was now there really on top of him, trying to rip his chest open.

He grabbed for his phaser, but it wasn't where it should be and then he screamed again.

Sam looked to Khalpek and Jourdan. "Can you get a lock on the creature?"

One second the demon or whatever entity it was had him by the throat and he thought he might die. The next second it had released him and was clutching at what passed for ears and then suddenly it was gone.

Manning just finished singing when he felt a uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. Something was not right, something was off. It felt like it was leading him somewhere. He did not think about where he was going just let his instinct guide him.
the next thing manning knew he was looking at Commander York

Mandy wasn't entirely sure what she was feeling, though she had noticed a change somewhere in the back of her mind. Almost like when you realize that you had a headache, but didn't notice until it was gone. She had figured it was just the sleep deprivation she put herself through, not wanting to have the nightmares again, but now she realized that it was not. At any rate she barely managed to move herself into her office before she fell asleep. With nothing to keep her away from things, it was time for a good long rest.

Eamon woke up in the brig and found himself unable to sense anything. He felt utterly alone and as a defense the Inaran sat up then moved to corner where he pulled his knees up to his chin. He was shaking and discovered that he lacked energy, ~More questions,~ He thought wondered what was going on.

Maria, monitoring internal sensors from the Bridge, tapped her commbadge. "Delgado to York. I think I've located the entity."

"On my way."

Sam walked out of her ready room and stopped at the science station. "What do you have?"

"Using the Carpathian Particles, and tying into the medical database, I've been able to track alpha waves and look. It's focused in the room with Warrant Officer Kamala."

"Computer, mark the entity and track it."

"Entity is being tracked."

"Okay. Now, Lieutenant Abbott, drive it off my ship."

"With pleasure" Jourdan replied. She started to use the shields to force the entity down the hallways of the ship away from the populated areas. She was enjoying running it off the ship.

"Ok" Jourdan said as she opened a hole in the shields for it to pass through. The entity slipped through back into space. "Off you go" she said as she activated a modified tractor beam, literally pushing it away through space.

"Commodore, its gone and I've pushed it away" Jourdan explained. "I suggest we get out of here..."

"Agreed. Take us back to Athena Shipyards, Lieutenant Abbott."

"Aye" Jourdan replied. She powered up the warp engines and jumped the Calypso into warp. "We're holding steady at warp six point five" Jourdan explained. "No signs of pursuit from the entity, it seems like we now taste bad".

Sam smiled in relief. "Well done, Lieutenant Abbott."
