Mission: A Pirate's Life
Location: Shuttle Cerberus and Calypso shuttlebay

[OLD]

Damion narrowed his eyes and then laughed. "You broke the first rule, Max" He yelled as he shot again, sending a stream to his feet, causing Max to dive and dodge out of the way.

-=Cerberus=-

Damion dragged Ronnie into the shuttle and closed the ramp, keeping her in the shuttle as he sealed and locked the door. He made a break for the pilots seat and started to work frantically at the controls. "Come on, come on. Where is that code? Don't play games with me, Max. You told me it would be here."

Ronnie ran to Damion and pushed his hands away from the controls. She had to get the door open and get off the shuttle. She had to stop Damion before he got in worse trouble.

Damon growled and stood up. "Its locked, Ronnie. Doesn't open without a code. A code that took me a long time to memorize. Max, the guy out there, is a high ranking Intel Officer. This is his ship, his baby." He let out a sigh and looked around. "Ronnie. I need you to stop freaking out and listen to me, Please. I'll explain everything soon."

"You shot Commander Vance, used me as a shield and now you're trying to steal an Admiral's shuttle and I'm supposed to sit back and do nothing?"

"Ronnie. I would love to explain to you whats really going on, but I don't have the time. You have always trusted me and I know I haven't been straight with you the past couple weeks or so, but as soon as this is all clear I promise I will tell you everything. No more deceptions." Damion looked at her sincerely as he turned back to the controls.

She didn't think she could trust him, not after he shot Vance, but she didn't want him to get killed, either. "Okay, but you drop me off at the first opportunity. I want no part of whatever scheme you have planned."

"Not a scheme, Ronnie. Under orders. By the same man I stole this shuttle from." Damion yelled back and then sighed slightly. "If after I explain everything you want to go I will drop you off in Federation space and be on my way. You don't want to talk to me or see me again, I'll make sure I never get reassigned back to Calypso. All I ask you hear me out before making the call. Agreed?"

Could she trust him? She still wasn't sure. Nothing had been right between them of late. She nodded, still not sure what to believe.

-=Shuttle Bay=-

Max got up and rushed over to Vance. Putting his hand on her neck. "Get a doctor!" He tapped his badge. =^=Admiral Hunter to Sickbay! Medical emergency!=^= He tapped his combadge again and placed his hand on her chest, covering the bleeding wound. "Hold on, Alexandra. Hold on!"

Alexandra looked up to Max giving him a smile. The look on his face could have fooled her had she not been in on the ruse...it would certainly fool Strife. "It's time to let go Max, I had one hell of a run. Eventually.....these young guys...they...." Alexandra went limp rolling her eyes back into her head.

"VANCE!" Max screamed as he looked over to the guards getting up. "I want my shuttle back, Gentlemen! If Wolf makes it out with my shuttle, you will all be sorry."

The two guards accompanying Vance grabbed her body and rushed out from the shuttle bay.

A small cat suddenly came from behind a box and pranced over to where Max was standing. It began to nuzzle it's face into Max's pant leg and purred as it enjoyed the feel of the fabric against it's whiskers.

The other guards rushed to a wall terminal to seal the shuttlebay and prevent Damion's escape.

-=Cerberus=-

Damion got the sensors and weapons up, bringing up the guards and others outside behind the shuttle. He brought up shields and opened up a com so that they could hear it. =^=Wolfe to Hunter. I got control of the Cerberus. You have 30 seconds to leave the shuttlebay before I blow the doors open and suck the whole lot of you out into space.=^=

He started to tap on the console, trying to get the doors to open without having to abide by his threat. If he could open the doors and pass through the forcefield he could make it out without having to hurt anyone for real. "Ronnie, Help me. I need to get the doors opened." He turned and looked over to her. "Please, Ronnie. I'll explain everything when we are clear. I promise. Don't make me actually have to kill people."

"Trust me," he said. Now she had to help him or he'd kill everyone in the shuttlebay. At this moment she neither liked nor trusted him. But she wasn't going to let him kill anyone else. She sat down at the console farthest from him and entered the command to open the doors while maintaining a forcefield that would let the shuttle leave but not vent the atmosphere. "There," she said. Then she got up and went to the back of the shuttle.

"Thank you, now Max and Vance have all they need to make this work." Damion said as he maneuverd out of the shuttlebay. Easing it to the right, as he passed the nacelles he tapped at the controls. "Matching shield harmonics to match the Calypso's and initiating cloak. Stand by for warp."

Right now she didn't care that they were going to warp. She walked into the small room with four bunk beds and curled up on a bottom one, her back to the room. All she wanted right now was for this nightmare to be over.

Damion leaned back in the chair and closed his eyes. He was worried. Now that it was all over he could get back to being who he was, but had it been too late? Did he wonder so far off the beaten path that there was no turning back? He ran his hands through his hair and let out a sigh. He had begun his original mission, but now he felt even worse.

Ronnie was losing the tight control she'd held over her emotions. "Not the time, Lancaster," she told herself, but it didn't help. She grabbed one of the pillows and buried her face in it so he wouldn't hear her cry.

He didn't need to hear her to feel her. They're connection was so strong that he could feel her fall apart. He put his head down and closed his eyes. Resisting the urge to cry himself. Damion took slow and deep breaths, trying to control himself.

He hoped it wasn't too late to fix things with Ronnie.
