"Commodore York is currently mourning the loss of a....friend, I cannot tell you how long she will be." Vance replied with her straightest face trying not to let the Admiral in on what she had done, even though he would know soon enough.

"We can wait." Max said as he stepped back into the shuttle.
"Very well, if rigormortus begins to set in, you can have one of our security officers escort you to your quarters." Vance said with a smirk before turning away from Max.
"Commander Vance!" Max yelled as he stood back in the doorway looked over to her. "Your well aware of the business I am in. I come directly from Admiral Burke with orders and intelligence. Captain York must be present. Not you. Not your security officers. Captain York. Am I understood?"
Alexandra stopped and turned her head to the left revealing her occular implant. "You're early, and she's busy. You are welcome to crash the funeral if you like Admiral, but you were never one for drawing attention to yourself." she responded with a smirk. Max was tough, he needed to be spoken to in such a manner to illicit any favourable responses.
"Then you leave me no choice, Commander." Max stepped off the shuttle and walked back towards her, hands at his sides and face looking like he was ready to explode, but Vance would catch the subtle hints it was all an act. "As a current inactive member of Starfleet Intelligence, I order you to send for Commodore York or my report in regards to your current status will review that you are not acting as a decorated Officer and should be dismissed as the Calypso's Executive Officer effective imediately. To which you will be sent to Starfleet Medical where you will go through numerous and countless testing to assess how well you are after your current incident." He stopped in front of her and put his arms behind his back. He slipped a quick smirk that only she caught and tilted her head. "So remind me, What are you doing Commander?" Max said, adding a smile.
Alexandra caught the smirk and knew Max had no intentions of making good on his words, but he would see Commodore York through any means possible. "I suppose the Commodore could find time to fit you in."
She tapped her commbadge. =^="Commodore, Admiral Hunter requires a meeting with you immediately, it is urgent from on behalf of Admiral Burke."=^=
"Where is the Admiral?" Sam asked. She still had over an hour before Leo's funeral so could spare Max the time he needed.
=^="He is here with me in shuttlebay one."=^=
"On my way." Why didn't Vance inform her of the Admiral's arrival? She would have to ask her XO later. It wasn't something she wanted to bring up over comms.
Sam walked quickly to the shuttle bay. She found the group and joined them. She glanced at Vance, one eyebrow raised, and then turned to the visitor. "Admiral Hunter," she said, extending her hand in greeting. "I'm sorry I wasn't here when you arrived. I was not informed of your impending arrival."
"Your XO took it upon herself to take the burden off your shoulders, Commodore." Max walked passed Vance to York, brushing passed her almost like she didn't matter anymore. "I heard you are currently mourning a loss. I am sorry to hear it. Losing a crew member is something every Captain fears and I wish this could have come at a better time for you, but we have to press one regardless of the situation. Can we move somewhere more private?"
Sam gave Vance a sharp look. "My XO is still learning that I like to be hands-on," she answered, turning towards the shuttle bay doors. "The Chief Science Officer's office is currently unoccupied and isn't far from here. We can meet there."
As she and Hunter walked towards the door she explained, "We lost 17 Marines on Tiberius IV. I'm having a burial at sea on the holodeck."
"A burial fitting for any falling warrior." Max walked with her as the Calypso's security officers and the Cerbeus security officers followed closely behind them. "That is actually one of the reasons why I am here. Not your lost maries, but the incident on Tiberius IV. More importantly one of Intel's officers, Lieutenant Damion Wolfe."
"Yes. He's currently in the brig." She led the way into the empty office and closed the door. Before Hunter could say anything she want to the computer and entered in her security code, accessing her files in the science database. She worked quickly and efficiently. A minute later she pushed a final key and sat back. "There. Now the room is secure. So, Admiral, what's going on?"
The security officers stayed outside the door.
Max crossed his arms over his chest and looked over to Vance, then to Sam. "Do you want the official or unofficial version, Commodore?" His voice and demeanor changed the instant she said it was secured. His voice was less stern and he had a smile on his face as he eased the color of his uniform off a bit.
"Unofficial, of course. If I'd wanted the official version I would not have set up a secure area. Admiral Burke sent me a brief message, but I still have an officer in my brig who mouthed off to a Colonel who, in turn, has filed charges and I have to decide how far to press the issue."
"Thats why I am here. The cover story is that I am here as a representative from Starfleet Intelligence. I am here to pull Wolfe out of the fire he placed himself in. I was hoping situations like this could have been avoided, but in order for this to work he has to go down this road." Max looked over to Vance and then returned his gaze back to Sam. "You know that Damion Wolfe isn't this kind of officer and he is taking a big risk to pull this off. In order to stop Gregory Strife, it has to be done. All other attempts have failed. This is the only one that shows promise."
