"Alright, looks like this party has ended quickly, if you have any bright ideas ma'am, now would be the time. Otherwise....you know what i'll have to do." Amarylis stated gripping her pistols tightly.
[NEW]
The Borg turned its head to look at Amarylis, "Human, Female. Your species has already been added to our own. You are unworthy of assimilation" it said before turning back to Kara
Kara probed deeper, searching for the part of Cam that still existed. "Kara. I'm Kara. And you are Cam. REMEMBER." All she wanted was a distraction. She pulled out her phaser, making sure it was on heavy stun and waited.
"Now, Beckinsale. Distract the other Borg."
Kara.....can't hold for long Cam's thoughts came from some corner of his mind, but it was weak.
"We're getting you out of here."
don't risk yourself, get out Cam thought before disappearing into the sea of voices.
"We are five of eight, secondary repair drone of Unimatrix 06. The human you knew is no more" the Borg said, grabbing hold of Kara's arm, "you will become one of us"
It was enough for Kara. She'd carefully altered the phaser so it would not be like the phasers the Borg had most likely adapted to. Still, she would have one shot. If this didn't work, it wouldn't matter what she tried next. Aiming at his stomach where there would still be human organs, she shot.
Kara tried to catch Cam as he fell. "How's that distraction coming?" she asked, keeping him upright by pressing him against his console. With her free hand and she fumbled for one of her flash bangs. If nothing else, it would cause a distraction.
"Well ma'am they are still......" Amarylis was cut off as some of the borg began to awaken. "OK disregard my last, one distraction coming right up." Amarylis flicked the safeties on her pistols off and began to fire.
"I've got enough clips left for maybe two dozen more, we need to get out of here and seek more cover."
Kara let Cam fall to the floor and found a hover cart. If they were going to get out fast, she wasn't going to do it dragging an unconscious Borg. It would draw too much attention, too.
She brought it back to Cam and hauled him onto it, stretching him out so it looked like she was merely taking him to another facility. "Okay, we're ready."
"After you ma'am" Amarylis said with a nod.
Kara placed her TR119 carefully so that it wasn't easily visible but could be drawn and used quickly, set her phaser by her other hand, and pushed the card ahead of her.
She was careful to listen telepathically in case there were other Fleeties around. As she passed a room she stopped. "In there," she nodded to the room. "Another one we need to pick up."
"I hope you have a plan for keeping these boys from getting out of hand." Amarylis stated backing into the room."
"Shoot to stun," Kara informed her, grinning. "I have two more shelves on this thing. Once it's full, we'll grab another one."
Kara walked in and noticed six drones working at stations. "Will you look here, I do believe we have two special delivery packages to pick up." She pulled out the phaser and stunned two of the Borg.
Amarylis quickly dispatched of the other four drones. "How exactly do you plan to get all these packages back to the Caly?"
"No man left behind. All I have to do is get them out of here. Then we get them to the shuttle and back to the Calypso. The doctor will take care of them from there." She had no idea. All she knew was that she wasn't leaving them here.
"Got another one of them fancy carts?" Amarylis asked.
Kara walked quickly out of the room and returned a minute later with another cart. "I do now."
Amarylis grabbed the first drone and piled it onto the cart. She then grabbed the second one and gently placed it on the first drone. "No disrespect to these boys but we need to go." she said pushing the cart towards the exit.
Kara nodded and backed out of the room, turning her cart the way they'd come. She walked purposefully down the tunnel. Now, if they could avoid any of the Borg noticing the dead bodies they left behind...
Amarylis followed closely behind Kara knowing they had to make haste but remaining vigilant to watch for threats.
It seemed like an eternity before they emerged back into the main cavern. To keep from looking too out of place, Kara turned towards the back of the complex rather than the front. She'd take the circuitous route if it would help them get out unnoticed. Her heart pounded, but they seemed to be fine. And then she saw a site that made her fight to keep from smiling. Friendly faces.
"There's a site for sore eyes." Amarylis said radiating a smile of her own relieved to be out of the complex.
Step one was a success, but Kara knew they still had to get their people back ot the Calypso, and that would not be easy -- especially if any of them woke up.
