Mission: Subjugation
Location: Von Braun team

ON

It took several hours to get the warp core up and running and activate main power. While Jourdan and her crew worked on that, the rest cleared bodies from the main work areas. It wasn't a job any of them relished. But once the main computer was back online the dead were all transported into space for burial.

Maddison sat at a console, which technically served as the Navigation console, between the helm, and the entry to the washroom, on this bridge set-up. She had cross-wired a few consoles, and had the Navigational console accepting commands for tactical, and helm. This was largely because neither of the said consoles were in one piece. Telling the console what to do with the other consoles was easier, than trying to fix them. "Engineering, this is the bridge. We've got Helm and Tactical controls working. If you could tie a science console in to the environmental console, which is the only other one here not smoking, Mister O'Dell should be able to handle Science, and navigational scans." She said, trying to get the Navigational Console to do anything but complain about the excess debris in the area, that it wasn't allowed to catalogue. "Also, if you could over-ride these damn nav-specific warnings, or get them off my screen, I'll be able to fly without crashing us into anything."

--Engineering--
Leo looked up from the console he was working on and over to the members that knew what they were doing. "I don't even know how the tactical console works, let alone the rest of it. Never got that part of the training done before Kyt went AWOL." Scratching the back of his head he typed in a command and waited. -^-Bridge, did I do anything to alleviate the problem? Cause this things saying something about tribbles.-^-

"I don't want to have to admit that I was a marine before, anymore." Came the aquatic woman's reply. "Let one of the engineers do it, and put your hands in your pockets, before you blow us all up."

It sounded suspiciously like she was about to break into laughter, before the comm-link cut off.

"Do what?" Marek asked Leo as he approached.

"Evidently the traitor up there thinks I'm going to blow us up," Leo said quietly and with a smile. -^-Hey Maddi, what does this shiny red button that says Destruct sequensor do? Is that one ok to push?-^- he asked before closing the comm and laughing. "Sometimes its worth the sighs and the pain." Leo turned to another console and looked it over. "This ones useless, surgical replicators and RNA sequensors. Want to bet we can scrap most of it for parts?"

"Should I be worried?" Marek asked Leo.

Maria continued to work on restoring power to science. "I'm working on science," she said to the Bridge.

-- Bridge --

Jourdan arrived on the bridge of the ship. The computer had identified the Miranda Class as the USS Torchwood. It had been lost over twenty five years ago.
"Right then" she said. "Who said we get this ship moving. We're in better state than the Von Braun" she explained.

"Helm. Thrusters again, make it look like we're drifting. Take us back towards the Von Braun slowly" she ordered.

Trying very hard, not to go down to Engineering, and throttle the Major, Maddison nodded. "RCS Thrusters, 2,000 K/m per hour." Maddison said, nodding. She tried to pick the path with least debris, and then just used a brief pinpoint-phaser shot, to get it out of the way. It was barely visible, and was move designed to move something, than just vaporize it. "Estimated time of arrival to the Von Braun is twenty minutes."

Lizzie manned the science station while O'Dell continued to help in Engineering. "No sign of hostile ships. As long as we go slow, we should get there without attracting any attention."

Jourdan nodded. "Understood"

[Later]

"Slow is right down" Jourdan said as she looked up from the engineering console of the bridge. "We don't want to stop, we still look like debris" she explained. "With a little luck we should be able to beam the crew off the Vaun Braun and onto this ship using the emergency transporters"

"So far no sign of other ships," LIzzie said quietly.

"Look, I hate to tell you this, but this isn't a shuttle. The Engines don't go slower than this, without full helm control." Maddison said, not bothering to look at Jourdan. "The only way we're going to move any slower, is stopped, or if you get out and push. We're running on a very jerry-rigged control system, you know."

Maria walked onto the bridge in time to hear Maddison's comment. "Why not get as close as we can and transport everyone off the Von Braun?"

"That's what I'd suggest we do, but I'm not the one barking commands." Maddison said, with a scowl. "Finesse, and this vessel, have absolutely no common ground, any where, at the moment."

"I think it's cute," Lizzie replied to Maddison's comment.

"I'm just glad it's working," Maria countered. She turned to Jourdan. "Science and Environmental Controls are ready to go. Are you going to transport the rest of the crew off the Von Braun?" she asked.

-Engineering-

Leo stayed back as the more experienced members continued to work, feeling oh so helpful. He knew what to do in a fight, but working on a ship wasn't his forte. Grumbling about the lack of anything to do, he looked at shield controls. -^-Bridge, I sure hope you have something else in mind if someone decides to start shooting at us, it looks like we can only get shields up to about ten percent. And that would be on a good day.-^-

"They're more likely to take us like they took the others," Maria said, addressing Jourdan. "But I do agree that we need to get some sort of weaponry ready, just in case."

"Well then. What do you suggest?" Jourdan asked.

"Phasers?" Marek offered. "Shoot them before they can fire at us."

"Phasers, or torpedoes. Whichever would be more subtle," Maria said. "We dont' want to attract too much attention, but if they see us coming and start firing, it won't matter what we use. And we need shields."

Just then the proximity alarms began to blare.
