Mission:
Subjugation
Location: Von Braun
ON
:::Engine Room:::
Marek was running on adrenaline and the minimum of sustenance along with his friend and colleague Mak. The two along with others who survived, and with limited resources, struggle to affect repairs to make the Nova-class science vessel spaceworthy once again.
:::Marine Area::::
Noelle paced the area impatiently. She didn't have much to do right now and contemplated where her skills would be most useful at this moment. Staring at the walls was going to drive her mad.
::: Arboretum :::
Lizzie had every workroom filled with plants. Grains, vegetables and fruits grew in abundance. In her first week on the Von Braun she collected everything she could and began to plant. Replicators were down and ration packs would only go so far. Fortunately there were few enough survivors on the ship to make it possible to live on what was left in the food stores until minimal power could be restored. She still wasn't sure why some stayed on the ship while the rest disappeared -- or even where they'd gone. She'd taken on the task of providing fresh food and a place to hide when the task of repairing the ship got too much for them.
Now she kept working to keep sane. The ship was still adrift in what she was told was a ship graveyard, although life support was working properly.
The main garden area was filtering water through a series of root and plant systems. The constant sound of running water was both a comfort and an irritant. AN irritant because it drew the attention of the Aquatic. Not that Lizzie normally minded,but sometimes Maddison was downright obnoxious. Especially when she tried to dictate how the water was supposed to taste.
When it rained in the arboretum, LIzzie would generally hide in the back rooms to avoid any conflict.
:::
Maddison smiled, at the rain falling, as she walked, in the arboretum, enjoying the lack of requirement for her environmental suit. She came across a small pond, and turned on a rather helpful device that the S.C.E. was field-testing for security purposes, which was supposed to obscure it's target from direct scanning, though it sadly, did nothing for visual appearances. She sat down in the pond, and stretched, feeling absolutely luxurious, at the amount of open-water time she'd been given, as of late.
It worried her though, that the ship was so damaged. She hoped there was engineers around. Neither her, nor the plant-loving nutjob knew how to fix anything of use. Quietly, Maddison prayed to the great mother, for guidance, and assistance.
::: Bridge :::
Patrick double checked the "deadening array", if life signs were detected on the ship while they were still repairing her... It would get incredibly ugly. He returned to reprogramming the repaired tactical console. "This is like trying to drive a railroad spike with a teaspoon... Not only did they take the bio-neural gel-packs, and isolinear chips, they completely scrambled both computer cores. All the backups gone, nothing to work with, I have to build the tactical routines all from scratch." He'd been up for over 36 hours now working on getting whatever systems he could up and running.
He heard the faithful beep he'd been waiting for, indicating the system was trying to power up. It looked like it was working, and he was able to get a lock on a nearby asteroid, but he dare not test it live, in case they were being watched.
He sighed, tempted to collapse to the deck right here and now, but moved to the jeffries tube and started heading down to the gardens to take a nap, at least if that nutcase Maddison wasn't making it rain again. Those plants looked pale from being over-watered, and that was soon going to be the only food they had if the damned engineers couldn't get some replicators up and running again.
::::Engineering::::
Leo was looking around, trying to find anyone. "All the oompa's went away," he muttered to himself. He was still sore and his right hand, his trigger hand, was shattered. He didn't know where that had happened, but he was of no use to the invisible people here on the Von Braun. Grabbing the shoulder strap of a TR style weapon that he had found near him when he had woken up from the fight. He had already tried the comm badges, and knew they didn't work so it was time to start climbing to his area and get a sit rep.
"What are you doing?" Marek asked as he approached Leroy.
"I tried getting to the Marine area, I thought I could make it," Leo said kind of dazed. "I remember freezing and blacking out, then I woke up here. I don't even know where I am." Shaking his shattered hand again, he grunted in pain. "I was trying to get to the Corpsman, or to a medic."
"You're in the engine room. Do you want some help?" Marek asked.
"No I'll be fine Marek. I've just been woozy since the fight and all, I'm sorry." Shaking his hand again, he hoped it didn't heal badly. Breaking ones hand once was bad enough. "Just find me a medic or a wrap for my hand."
:::Jefferies Tube - Deck 7 - Off Engineering:::
Staff Sergeant Riley swore as the tool in his hands slipped away and clanked loudly to the hard metal grating that his body was laid out over in the jefferies tube. HIs hands, almost a pale shade of blue, were freezing and could barely move let alone operate a very technical tool. For what seemed the hundredth time that day he brought them to his mouth and breathed before quickly rubbing them together in hopes of warming them up if even slightly.
