Mission: The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: Bridge
Timeline: After the party

ON:

Leo was standing on the bridge, watching a couple engineers building a new console on the back wall. It was already cramped there, but every time they tested the monitor, the SFMC symbol would pop on and rotate. He didn't have a clue what was going on, but he would find out. "Lieutenant," he said touching the Sec/Tac's shoulder for a split second, something he'd never attempt with Kyt. "Got a question for you."

Levue entered, turning to Ensign Tyler. "What is it?"

Tyler pointed to Leo, behind Levue.

"Yes, can I help you, Captain Mangalia?" Levue asked.

"Wow, security that knows how to say more than just what to a Marine..." Leo said in awe, and with a laugh. "I'm hoping you can help me out, what are the Engineers doing over there, and do you mind me learning the tactical array? Sometimes I get board down there in Marine country."

Levue nodded. "I believe that the secondary Operations desk is being converted for Marine uses. As to learning the tactical array, I'll have Stran assist you. He's the best teacher the department has. For anything. Except movie references, of course."

"I'll pass that on to Daniels. He'll be pleased." Ensign Maddison Tyler said from the Tactical Console.

Leo chuckled and shook his head. "Let Stran know that I'm pretty much free with the Captain onboard the ship. When she's gone I'm like a chicken minus the head. I'm sure you understand." Looking back at the console he frowned. "What is a Marine going to do on the bridge?"

"Make sarcastic reposts with Ensign Daniels?" Maddison Tyler asked.

Levue gave her an exceptionally school-marm-esque look.

"I'll be shutting up now. Where is my relief." She said, absentmindedly.

"If they are late, don't forget to write them up for it." Levue said, as she turned back to Mangalia. "That's a question best asked to the Executive, or Commanding Officer."

"Oh well, I'll figure it out. You're alright with Marines learning the Sec/Tac station? No hard feelings, nothing like that?"

"So long as they remember it's Security and Tactical's console, and if I tell them to shove aside, they had best do it, not at all." Levue said. "So you are aware, however, regulations do require someone from security be posted here at all times, so even if you have a marine on Sec/Tac duty, there'll be a Security officer present, as well."

"That's fine, but if they need a break, then so be it. And if an emergancy comes, they'll be at the Marine Station." Leo nodded, pondering something. "We may be able to work together better than me and Kyt did. At least your not trying to kill me... Yet."

"As I understand it," Cassandra said, with a chuckle. "Kyt didn't try to not kill many people."

"She really... She was nuts," Leo said with a laugh. If you could bottle her essence you could make a fortune with the Klingons alone. They'd love to get a hold of that warrior spirit. Thank the gods she's gone how ever." Leo rested a hand on the Tactical panel and shook his head.

A stern voice came from behind Levue. "It may surprise you both to discover that some of us had fond attachments to Ms. Tramira. Kindly refrain from such discussions on the bridge. " came Ensign Stran's voice. "You are relieved, ensign Tyler."

"Damn straight I am." Maddison said, and practically leapt into the Turbo lift.

Leo smiled at Stran and nodded to the man. His hand was still resting on the tactical controls. "I know you enjoyed her company Stran, I never could understand why though. Didn't she chuck a shoe, a tea pot, a person, and several knifes and other not nice things at you during some sort of mental rehab thing?" Lifting his hand he looked down and smiled. "So close to accidently sending a spread of torpedo's, I doubt that would have been a good thing. If you didn't hear, I'm up here to get some hands on training on the tactical systems, because I'm tired of being bored."

"So long as you do it respectfully." Stran said, with a scowl. "And without causing any incidents, by firing torpedoes. Kindly keep your hands off of the controls, while they are not in training mode, thank you."

Cassandra shook her head. "Don't argue with him. Trust me." She whispered to Leo.

"I remind you, Lieutenant Levue, that Vulcan hearing is sufficient to pick up whispered words, nearly 50 feet away." Stran said. He said nothing more, just continued to poke, and prod, at the console.

Leo winked at Levue and turned an almost stupid look onto Stran. "Marine like shiny button, what big red dot do?" Half reaching out he smiled at Stran. "Do you really think I'm going to be that stupid and accidently fire the Calypso's weapon systems? I'm a Marine, not a child Ensign."

"Regulations stipulate, that untrained persons are not permitted to touch the controls. You do not know what various controls may, or may not do. There are sections of this console, which appear inert, but are not." Stran stated, calmly. "Until you are trained, Captain Mangalia, you are required to be treated like a child."

Levue shook her head.

Leo bit back the impulse to start sucking his thumb or say 'Goo Goo Gah Gah' but only barely. "Fine Ensign, until yu switch it to training mode I won't touch the panel, and if you treat me like a child we may just have to see who was better trained in hand to hand."

"I only treat those who act like children, and touch things they are aware they are not supposed to, as Children, Captain Mangalia." Stran said. He added no further comment.

"That's a fight I'd pay good money to see." Levue said, chuckling. "I'd put you down at culturally impaired, Captain. No offense."

"Culture and training have little to do with one another," Leo said with a laugh. "I've seen kids without a lick of training beat down and kill a fully trained Vulcan Marine. So culture and training don't always win out... Sometimes its just pure tenacity."

"Alright then, Tenacity basis. Did you have the daring-do to ask Kyt out?" Levue asked.

Stran remained silent, simply focusing on his console.

"You know, I was going to until I read that report from Stran here, no idea how it got to me. But if I hadn't of seen that then gotten blown up, I would have in a heart beat." Leo shrugged. "But that don't matter anyhow, and a little piece of me tells me I should have at least tried."

"Unwise." Stran said, quietly, from his console. "Though that information was obtained in a very personal manner, so I will not elaborate."

Leo shrugged, the point was moot either way. "So Stran, are you going to show me how to work this thing or am I going to have to go to the holodeck with Miss Levue here and have her start teaching me?"

Stran quirked an eyebrow. "I presume the question is rhetorical." He returned his attention to the controls.

Levue chuckled. "There's regulations about handing over an active duty station for training purposes, while not docked, Marine Captain. Most of your training will be in the holodeck."

"That's fine," Leo said smiling. "See, I'll be sending my men to come train I have this pesky away mission to deal with first." Nodding to both, Leo made to leave the bridge.

Once the doors closed, Levue turned to Stran.

"Ensign Stran-"

"I'm aware that my actions towards Marine Captain Mangalia were not among the most of professional. In my defense, I would-"

"Ensign Stran, I'd like to express my gratitude for insisting on regulations, regardless of the issues at hand, regarding the fact that you are severely outranked." Levue said, with a nod. "That's all."
