The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: CO's Ready Room

Sam left the bridge and walked into her ready room to hear what Lieutenant Wolfe wished to tell her.
"Come in," she said when the door chimed. "So, what's up?"
Damion walked into the Ready Room, holding a PADD in one hand. "Hello Captain." He said softly as he sat down on the chair and then turned it to face her. "Starfleet Intelligence has asked on a status. To be honest I don't know if I should make this as another operation or recreation." He said softly as he leaned back a bit. "To be honest, there is a lot of concern about whether or not this is an important mission. This Treasure Hunt is more or less considered a wild goose chase. Honestly, I am always up for a little fun. I don't mind a little adventure, but I do have my orders, which come from my superiors, Ma'am."
"Interesting that Starfleet Intelligence is interested in a search for a lost civilization," she said, perusing the PADD. "This isn't a formal mission, but it's not recreation, either. It's a bit of both. We've been authorized to check out the map and see what's left of this ancient society. But like all ancient sites, there's no promise we'll find anything of value."
"Can I offer my opinion, Ma'am?" He said softly as he leaned forward in the chair.
"Please do." After Commander Sears, she would appreciate an honest opinion.
Damion sighed as he took in a breath and then looked at the Captain. "It's a front. Starfleet Intel is trying to push us away from something. I don't know what exactly, but it seems to me they know more about this sector then they are leading on, or maybe about that map." He leaned back and then sighed. "It wouldn't be the last time Intel had specifically tried to draw a Starfleet ship away from an area because they were trying to hide something. I wouldn't be surprised if they were keeping a close eye on us somehow. Making sure we don't uncover anything."
He laughed and they put his head down. "I might just be imagining things, Ma'am. Seeing things that aren't there, but my gut tells me they are holding back more then they let on." Damion stopped talking and looked at her with a concerned look in his eyes. A look that told her that it made him worried, mainly because he now had something to lose. No one knew the shady inner workings then Damion. He had both been apart of them and uncovered them on his own. "I have some loyal contacts, maybe they can provide me with some important information. Can't promise it will be free."
"Yes. There's definitely something that feels off. Especially with our new Mission Advisor. I don't trust him." She thought for a moment, then nodded decisively. "Yes. See what you can find. If there's a cost, let me know. I can call in a few favors and I know where to find things worth trading."
"I'll use whatever contact I think will be useful. If you want I can also look into our new Mission Advisor if you feel its important." Damion said softly as he let out a slight smile and then watched the reaction on her face. He was relieved he was finally able to contribute something to the ship. He had enough contacts and enough people owed him favors that it could be of use to him on this tour, maybe he can even make this permanent. Maybe whatever he and Ronnie had was going to last.
A slow, conspiratorial smile crept across Sam's face. "By all means. Since he isn't forthcoming with information, I'd like to know as much as I can about Commander Sears."
Damion nodded.
"Thank you, Lieutenant. Let me know what you find."
