Checking in with the Marine CO

Mission: The Race for the Lost Treasure
Location: Mangalia's office
Timeline: Prior to leaving for Michnar

Noelle had not really had much time to see the Captain during the mission, she had seen and spoke with him on the comm link when they were searching for the culprits on the planet but not since getting back to the ship. She decided that now was as good as any to check in with him and see what was going on. She stopped outside his office in Marine Country and rang the chime and waited.

Leo walked up and looked over. "Something I can help you with Lieutenant?" He was dressed in a civilian uniform, except he still had his boots on. "I thought you'd be looking in on our trainees, or your family with a little down time."

Noelle was pale, having just been released from Sickbay a day or two earlier "I was just stopping by to get an update on what's going on. My next stop is the trainees and my down time was spent in Sickbay." She said casually "How are you doing and how are our new trainees?" She asked turning to face the Captain. She was wearing a pair of sweat pants and a loose fitting shirt, it highlighted the feet that she had lost some weight in the last few days.

"Your down time isn't done yet. If you've been in sickbay then your under orders to go to your quarters and rest more. I'll worry about the Trainees Lieutenant." Leo smiled, seeing something of himself in the yound woman. "If I have to, I'll go to the Captain and make it an executive order."

"With all due respect Captain, I've seen enough of sickbay and my quarters. As long as I keep this handy little device attached just above my heart I'm okay." She said "It was a bit scary but it's under control right now." She looked at Mangalia "I had internal injuries from the blast that took you out on the surface during out last mission." She said "I didn't realize there was a problem until I noticed bruising from the middle of my back to my front and all the way down to my hip. Apparently I had some internally bleeding and didn't know it."

"I'll check on the trainees but won't do too much physical." She assured the Marine CO. "I have a check up with the medical staff in a day or two. But I've been released from Sickbay and to light duty for the time being."

Leo shook his head and sighed. "That's a no go Lieutenant. Take some time in the holosuite if you have to. Relax, take some time to yourself. Your injuries are still healing, mine are done. That's an order Noelle. I don't want something opening back up. Until I hear from the doctor, your on dead man's status. That means no duty what so ever, do you understand?"

"Aye sir." Noelle said knowing that she wasn't going to win against Leroy "I've not heard Dead Man's Status for a long time." She said "I do still get tired easily, if you need me...I'll be in my quarters napping." She said "Check with Dr. Bowen on when I'm to be released for full duty. Otherwise, I'll be in pestering her daily." She said with a smile.

"Pester away Lieutenant, since I have to wait for her to get to me. You need to take better care of yourself Noelle, even if you can't feel pain, you can't live for ever." Walking over he wrapped the woman in a deep hug. "And if I get knocked out again, they'll be sending me home."

Noelle was somewhat surprised by the hug and returned it "Well then I guess I'll be stepping on the mines from now on." She said with a slight grin "Rather have me banged up than have to break in a new CO." She said realizing that she was tired from the short time that she had been up. "I'll check with Bowen later today and get a release date." Noelle said hiding the yawn that was forming. It was clear on her face that she was tiring quickly.


"Go to bed Noelle. I promise the greenhorns will still be green when you get back to us. I want my XO to be fit, since we'll be running these children into the ground come you being active." Leo gently led her to his door and patted her shoulder. "And I'm implimenting a new EOD squad, being blown up once is enough for me."
