Lt. Commander Sheridan has just left the bridge and entered his office, he saw Warrant Officer Finney working on some crew roster changes on the Large screen. "Dana, could you do me a favor?"

She turned, "Yes Sir, what do you need?"

Could you run down and ask Lieutenant York If she is available for a short meeting, I need to brief her on the current situation with our Security department. As the Lieutenant is the Second officer here she needs to be aware of whats going on. I would normally call her but I'd like to keep the rumor mill from winding up any more than it already has."

Finney was sharp, and had heard quite a bit about the incident between Nartu and Getal. "Well Sir, it may be a bit too late to stop the rumors, as there's a bunch of them. Some are pretty colorful, and I'm sure completely false."

John nodded, and got a cup of Coffee, Let's see if you can get York up here, I know she's busy but do what you can."

"Aye, Aye, Sir." Dana left and arrived at the Science department and York's office several minutes later...She rang out at the door...

"Hi. How can I help you?" Sam asked, seeing Dana in the main lab.

"Commander Sheridan sent me down to ask if you had a few minutes Ma'am to meet with him, it's about the security Department. He didn't really want to make it a public message."

Sam put the PADD down she was making notes on and stood up. "Sure. There's nothing that can't wait a bit longer. I can come right now."

She walked with Dana back to the XO's office.

Finney headed for the bridge as they passed the open door of the Ex's office....

"Lieutenant York, thanks for coming up, I know you're busy," Sheridan closed the door behind York as she entered. "Have a seat and some hot Apple cider if you like."

Sam got herself a cup of cider and sat down. "So, what's this about security?"

"As second officer I though you should know about what's going on between Ensign Getal and Ensign Nartu, as you know both are Cardassians, Getal was stunned and thrown in the brig by Ensign Nartu. This incident occurred while Getal was actually reporting in for duty."

"So, what exactly happened?" Sam asked, knowing that the details were important in understanding a situation.

"Still finding that out, I think it has to do with Nartu's family or past. Haven't got the whole story yet. What I do know is that Getal wants to kill him for some reason. I thought you should know whats going on, the Captain has ordered Getal's Psych eval from medical and we'll know more after that I hope."

"Did anyone sit down with the two of them -- separately -- and ask them what's going on?" Sam asked.

"That process will begin first thing, I'll try to get some information from Nartu, and perhaps a solution to this matter."

"Begging your pardon, sir, but I'd have someone in a neutral position talk to both of them separately. The truth will lie somewhere between the two views," Sam said, wanting to be helpful.

"Good, I was hoping you would lend a hand, I trust your judgment in this matter and hope we can get the issue resolved."

"Sure, what can I do to help?" she asked.

"See if you can get Nartu to talk with you about the issue, lets see whats really going on there."

"Okay. I'll see what I can find out," Sam replied.

"Thanks for coming by."

"Any time, Commander," Sam replied as she put her cup away and left the room.
