On

Gunnery Sergeant Hawkes had spent the last couple of days in his office working on an Exercise Plan to pitch to 2ndLT Raine.

He was cconfident that with all the training they had pushed the company through, they should be able to handle a company level exercise. Hawkes straightened his beret and pressed the buzzer on his bosses door.

"Enter." Damon said at the sound of the chime.

He was looking into a file detailing a grievance report sent to him by the three Klingons who he had dissmissed earlier. Apparently their former commanders got wind of what was happening and attempted to come to their aid. Somehow he would have to arrange to be absent on the Orion for a few days as he was required to explain to a board why they were let go.

~All in a days work.~ He thought to himself shaking his head.

Hawkes stepped into the office and immediately saw the PaDD his boss was looking at. He had already been given a heads up by some former shipmates, that there was trouble on it's way. No CO likes to hear that their recommendations would be ignored by a junior officer but Hawkes didn't care about Marine Politics, he just wanted a good unit and if that means throwing out dead weight then so be it. He knew the CO that was complaining. Too big a windbag to care about it. Hawkes would deal with him.

He stood at attention and saluted, but didn't wait for a response before speaking. "Forget about the Klingon brothers, Sir" he started. "I know the CO on the warpath and if you'll excuse me, he's not a Marines a#&*ole. I'll deal with him when he comes aboard."

Damon looked up and laughed at the comment. "I'm not even a little bit worried about it. It was the right call and i'll back that up with the board. At worst this is an inconvenience, that's all."

He tucked the PaDD under a stack and then gave Jethro his full attention. "What can I do for you Gunny."

"A full scale company attack using all our squads in their respective specialties."

"Oh?" He questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"In the late 20th Century on Earth there was an operation to rid a country of a crooked leader and to maintain a vital trade route. Operation Just Cause was the United States response to threats to close down the Panama Canal. I'd like to recreate that operation on a company level." Hawkes smiled, he knew the boss would love the challenge. He handed over the PaDD with all the details.

Damon read over the report and nodded and the proposed operation. "It's an auspicious program." He looked back up to the Marine. "I've been reading over the latest progress reports from the platoon leaders. They look good, but probably not good enough for anything of this scale. They have just started to get the hang of section maneuvers, let alone full platoon actions."

He leaned back in his chair and folded his hands on the desk in front of him. "This program would likely still be out of their league..." He smiled wickedly, "Which is why were are going to run it. Have the platoon leaders sign off on it and I want a detailed briefing of the program specifics on my desk by the end of shift tomorrow. If it's the kind of scale I think it could be I will need to ask the Captain for a devoted power stream to keep the TAC holodeck running without interruption."

"Aye Aye Sir" Hawkes saluted then left for his own office.
