Mission: Shades of Gray

ON

Ronnie sat in front of a computer console in her small office off Science Lab 2 going over data on the technology from the planet. There was something she was missing. Something that hadn't come up on any previous scans.

She knew what the Chief Engineer thought, but it was important for her to go from the items themselves and see if the evidence matched the Lieutenant's theory.

The train, the cell phone, the radio. They all came from somewhere -- or a series of somewheres. Too bad they didn't just spring out of the ground. It would make her job easier. The thought made her chuckle. But what if they did come from the same place? "Computer, new search parameters. Scan the artifacts from the planet. This time, search for cosmic dust and particulates common to space nad space travel. Is there a pattern?"

"Affirmative."

"Show data on screen."

As the data scrolled across the screen, Ronnie smiled. She tapped her combadge."Lancaster to Commander Tovan and Lieutanants Toral, Abbott, Wolfe and Lovok. I think I found the pattern. Could you please come to Science Lab 2?"

=A= On my way, =A= Marek answered.

Tovan arrived in the Science Lab 2 not long after the call had come out. He walked in and headed over to the Lieutenant.

Jourdan arrived in the science lab. She had a few tools in the top pocket of her engineering coat and she was wondering why she was called.

Ronnie called them both over and showed them what she found.

The Romulan engineer walked in and approached the science officer. He looked at the pattern. "What is it?" Marek asked. "A wormhole?" He added.

"Perhaps." She looked at Jourdan. "I decided to start from a different direction to see if the Empirical data matched. I went from the articles themselves and found cosmic particulates. Have a look."

Damion walked into the lab. "Hey Ronnie, What's up?" He said softly as he looked away from his PADD and then to her.

"I found evidence to support Lieutenant Abbott's theory that the Michnar VII tech came from space," she said, smiling at the Intelligence officer. "Have a look."

"So they stole it?" Marek asked.

"Stole, found, acquired," she said, shrugging. To her it was all semantics. "The trail goes past the last planet in the system. There's evidence that suggests a wormhole."

She looked at the others and grinned. "I think we should go investigate."

"I concur," Tovan stated in agreement of the comment to investigate the wormhole further.

"Ronnie, How bout you and me hop into a shuttle and run some scans?" Damion looked at her and then looked over to Tovan. "If thats alright with you, Sir?"

Ronnie grinned at Damion and whispered. "Gonna take me for a ride, Wolfe?"

"We can see what happens, Lancaster." Damion whispered back and then winked with a bit of a smirk. He then focused his sight back on Tovan, getting serious again.

"Promises, promises," she teased quietly.

"Lieutenant Lancaster, I would like you to gather up your findings. I will set up a briefing with the Captain." Tovan said as he looked to the Lieutenant.

"Yes, sir." Ronnie gathered the pertinent information and loaded it onto a PADD. She included the raw data as well as the refined information as she knew the Captain would prefer to see both.

She hoped she'd be able to go in the shuttle with the others. It wasn't often you find what might be a stable wormhole.
