Lumina was livid. "What's wrong with these people? If they treat every request for help as a conspiracy it's a wonder they have any allies." She continued to mutter as she stomped down the corridor, uncaring of where she went.
Kyt placed a hand on the woman's shoulder, after approaching from behind. "Ma'am. Are you sure you want assistance, no matter the form it comes in?" Kyt asked, quietly. To a Starfleet Officer, she'd be a curious thing. A section chief out of uniform. She had, with her a suitcase. There was also some kind of device in her hand, though it was hard to recognize.
Lumina spun around. "You. Umm ... I'd like to get back to the planet. I thought you were nuts -- no offense -- but some of these people are positively ... nevermind. If you could tell me how to get out of here, I'd appreciate it."
Kyt nodded. "Most people think freedom fighters are nuts." Kyt said, with a chuckle. "That's the nature of the beast. Follow me, if you please. I'll be happy to get you back to the planet."
"Thank you," Lumina said with relief. "I came here to ask for help -- not to be accused of trying to kill your people." She shook her head. "I want to go back where I know the rules."
Kyt nodded. She brought her suitcase along. "I don't like playing by the rules, against people who don't play by the rules. I usually prefer to rewrite them, at that point."
"You and the current government have a lot in common, then. They appear to make up the rules as they go along, too." She noticed the suitcase. "Where are you going?"
"An unauthorized assistance mission." Kyt said. She looked Lumina in the eye. "My people, like yours, were once occupied. The Federation fought to help my people. They've decided yours is not worthwhile. Among the oaths that I have sworn, over the past two decades, one included an oath to fight, until I have nothing left, for my freedom, or that of another."
She opened the door to the transporter room, and held up a hand to Lumina. She then tossed in an odd device, and closed the door, with a security override. A minute later, she opened the door. The transporter operator was unconscious. "He won't mind. It was only a harmonic delta-wave inducer. He'll have a nice dream, and wake-up, in about an hour, or two." She said to Lumina. "On the transporter pad, please. I'll be with you in a moment."
She pulled the transporter control's protective panel, off the side, and pulled out a single isolinear chip, which she replaced with another. Then she tapped in a few commands on the console, and stepped on to the pad, next to Lumina. "Once we beam down, this console will overload. It won't disrupt normal ships actions, as there are other transporter rooms, but the coordinates I just put in, will be lost."
Lumina wasn't quite sure what to make of this woman, but she was desperate to get off the ship and back where she understood the rules -- crazy as they were. With a curt nod she did as Kyt told her and stepped onto the pad.
In a moment, the two dissolved into nothing and the room was empty -- except for the sleeping transporter chief.
