Marek followed his tricorder readings to what looked like nowhere and he sighed then adjusted his tricorder to scan for the unusual. A cloaking field was at the top of the results list and it only spanned a small distance; Marek programmed the tricorder to emit anti-proton particles directly at the field and it started to fluctuate.
He couldn't see it but he saw the fluctuations on his tricorder display and the inside of the field could be scanned. A small dwelling was inside. First and only question that came to mind was why? He ran a series of different sensor sweeps and found an underground tunnel.
Marek decided to check it out and would soon learn that may be a bad idea.
A woman watched Marek approach. His dress was strange -- obviously not from this world. That was either a good thing or a bad one. Starfleet? Perhaps. They wore uniforms. She wasn't sure what they looked like, though.
She walked casually up to the man. "You look lost. Can I help you?"
A little shocked by someone coming up from behind him Marek turned around pretty quickly and blushed a greenish. "Umm ah, kind of... No, just wandering around. Is that okay?" Marek asked stammering as he spoke which he instantly slapped himself mentally for.
"That depends on what you're looking for," she countered. "It's generally not a good idea to wander around alone. You never know who you may run into."
Marek couldn't help it. "Someone like you?" He asked tenderly.
"Someone exactly like me," she said, smiling up at him. Just then someone else pressed a needle into Marek's neck, catching him as he fell.
"What the...." Marek managed before he fainted and the last thing he could feel was being dragged in the direction of the dwelling.

Helga didn't want to think about the virus or the quarantine. She'd been exposed to it at least twice and knew there was little worrying would do to help the situation. So, she eschewed any special protection and set about checking in those who came for assistance. Besides, wearing any sort of protective gear in her skirt would be problematic.
Callen moaned to herself at the idea that this virus was more dangerous then what they had thought. She dressed up in her suite like she was told to do. There was a great chance that she was infected as well but she put the suite on anyways. After she was covered head to to, she thought she looked like a monster of all sorts. She went back to her duties restocking things, helping the sick feel comfortable in their surroundings. Over time the suite started to get to hot for her and she started to sweat in it. It really was starting to become uncomfortable.
Doctor Valdez realized how hard it was to be in suits and work with them on. Since he wasn't needed for surgery, he took blood samples and placed them under the microscope, that has already been set up on a make-shift countertop. He even took a sample from his own blood to see how much he was exposed to it. After Wesley compared the two results, it showed that he has a mild case of exposure. The citizens, that became patients in the base camp, have been exposed severely.
Wesley went back to the patient that he has drawn blood from. "Sir, how long ago did you started having symptoms?"
The middle aged man looked up with glassy eyes and frowned. "Um...fifteen suns ago. You have med...medicine for me?"
The doctor nodded his head. "No. We are working on that," he said as he pulled the blanket further up to the man's chin. He looked at his vitals on a tricorder, seeing that the numbers were not good enough. "Just get some rest. If you need anything, the nurses here will help you." He got up and left him to check on another patient. Along the way, he felt slightly dizzy and uncomfortable with feeling too warm in his suit. Need to get out of this suit, he thought as he went over to the next patient.
Hel went over to the patient and offered him a glass of juice. "Drink this. It will help you feel better. It is orange juice."
"Orange juice?" the man asked skeptically.
"Yes, fruit juice. It is good for you. Drink it," she replied firmly.
The man stared her down for a minute, then drank. Hel nodded in satisfaction and moved on to another patient.
