Briefing aftermath

Posted on Mon Jun 13th, 2011 @ 2:49pm by Lieutenant JG Tramira Kyt & Ensign Daniel Daniels & Ensign Stran

697 words; about a 3 minute read

Mission: Shades of Gray
Location: Corridors, Lieutenant Junior grade Kyt's quarters

Stran carefully carried the Chief Security and Tactical Officer out of the briefing room, cradling her head, in such a manner as to not cause any serious damage.

"That was brilliant, points." Daniels said, as he stepped into step, next to the Vulcan, having waited outside the briefing room.

"I appreciate your compliments on my methodology." Stran said, nodding.

"There's just a small problem, I have. It's itching at the back of my head. She never takes that earring off." Daniels said, shaking his head.

"That would be incorrect." Stran said. He approached the turbo-lift door, and waited for a car to arrive.

"Well, I've never seen her take it off." Daniels said, insistently.

"That is likely because she only does so, to sleep." Stran noted, as he stepped into the car, taking care not to bang Kyt's arms, legs, or head, against the turbo-lift door.

"Well, that makes sense, I guess." Daniels said. "Deck 10."

"Deck four." Stran added.

"Wait, how would you be able to be in her quarters, while she is sleeping?" Daniels said, suddenly suspicious, as he observed the cautious way Stran carried the woman.

"I am not at liberty to disclose this information." Stran said.

"Why not?" Daniels asked.

"If I did so, I would fear for both my, and your, safety." Stran said, calmly.

"Points, you two aren't..."

The turbo-lift doors opened, and stran stepped out.

"Points?" Daniels demanded.

The doors closed.

"Well, I'll be damned." Daniels muttered.

Stran placed his hand on Kyt's door panel sensor, and the lock disengaged. He was cautious to do this, while no one else was in the corridor.

Gently, he laid the Bajoran woman on her couch, and went to find her some coffee, knowing that she usually responded to being made unconscious in a grouchy manner, and caffeine had a calming effect on the woman.

Kyt woke up, groggily, and found herself lying on her own couch. "Stran." She said, with an unsure tone of voice.

Stran reappeared, with her coffee, and a cup of Green Tea.

"You appear to have fallen unconscious, in the staff meeting." Stran said, with a passive expression on his face.

"You mean, as part of your duties as my anger management counselor, among other things, you wisely stopped me from breaking furniture over the executive officer's face." Kyt said, in a passing attempt at matching Stran's passive tone of voice.

"If you wish to phrase it as such, I will not argue." Stran said, nodding.

"You summarized the briefing for me, then, I take it." Kyt said.

Stran nodded.

"Daniels figure it out yet?" Kyt asked, with a chuckle.

"I believe he has come to the appropriate assumptions, yes." Stran said, nodding.

"Only took him two weeks." Kyt said, nodding. "You owe me a chocolate cake."

"I had assumed it would have taken longer than month, given the extreme measures we both have taken to keep things in a relatively clandestine manner." Stran said, and then sipped his tea.

"Well, he's not a stupid man." Kyt said. "He's an investigator, after all."

"He is a tactical officer, with an appropriate set of skills to be an investigator. I would not state he is an investigator, however, as he is far too impractical in his methodology." Stran said. "Regardless, I have recommended him for the investigation down planet."

"Sounds wise." Kyt said. "I'm too violent, and you would be noticed, far too easily."

"Do you require anything else?" Stran asked.

"No, I'm fine, Stran, but thanks anyways." Kyt said.

Stran nodded, and approached the door. A device, there, turned red. He waited, patiently. About a minute later, it turned green, and he left.

Kyt chuckled. Ever since they had put the device on the wall, that detected when commbadges not associated with Stran, or Kyt, were outside the door, they had not had to explain what Stran was doing there, in the first place.

Quietly, she sipped her coffee, and read over the PADD he had left behind, with the briefing notes.
