Upon leaving the Ready Room, Randy practically ran down to the Fighter Bay. As he rushed through the doors, he yelled out for his two Squadron Leaders, and had them get their crews spun up.

As soon as everyone was assembled, he quickly briefed them on the situation. "We have a search and rescue to perform. This is not a drill. We have multiple away teams that we have lost contact with, and our mission is to find them and make contact if possible. Something is interfering with the ship's ability to contact them and vice versa, any questions?"

"Are there any ships in the area we should be made aware of?" S'rrin asked as he pulled his gloves on. They always took some extra 'working' as his Caitian fingers never seemed to fit in them quite right.

Randy looked at him. "Not as far as we know. There have been no signs of life, other than small creatures. Definitely be on your guard though, there could be some unknown surprises in store for us, especially in light of the crews having this many issues with keeping in contact with the ship."

The Caitian nodded. "If we can't rely on our communications, then I suggest we flight in tight formation on parallel paths. It will take longer but in the end it will be a lot safer."

Talia came racing in, flight gear already on. "Sorry, boss, I got here as soon as I could."

Randy shook his head. "No, we have had no communications issues between craft, its only to the surface. Under NO circumstances is anyone to land or go atmospheric. We do not need to lose comms with anyone else. Am I understood?"

"Understood. Do we have a flight path in mind?" S'rrin asked.

Randy nodded and punched in a couple of commands on the console. The planet popped up as a holo image. He pointed to the longitudinal lines. "We will be flying in pairs, far enough apart to make as few passes as possible. The Razors will be starting at the southern pole, working your way east to west in a spiral pattern, with the Valkyries taking the northern pole working in the opposite direction." He looked to Hobbes and then to Fraser.

"Hobbes, you will take charge of the Hawks. I am going to have Fraser lead the Eagles." He paused and grinned at their surprised faces. "I am going to have Lieutenant Del'ore with me on the Yolja, one of the Danube Runabouts, as a Command and Control craft, as well as yet another set of scanners to make shorter work of this task."

Randy looked around, assessing the mood of his people, then spoke one more time. "Any questions?"

"When do we get started?" The Caitian grinned, eager to be on his way.

Randy grinned as well. "Once I have everyone in place and get an up from everyone, we will launch." He looked around. "Well don't just stand there, let's go!"
