Mission: The Forests of Mythraeli
Location: Mythraeli
Timeline: Current

[Stran, Jason Hart, Yvette Jaymes]

Jason Hart and Nurse Jaynes followed the Vulcan as they separated from the group. They both had duffel bags to carry. Jason was the first to speak as he walked quickly to catch up with the Vulcan. "Find something on your tricorder, Stran?"

"I'm a security officer." Stran noted. "I am busy with my own duties."

The sounds of the forest had an eerie sound as they walked deeper into it. Jason ignored it and figured that it is normal to hear small sounds. "I understand. I wonder why we have to pair up with you. It should be with five, not three people in a group. I don't feel comfortable with such a small group as this..."

Nurse Jaynes walked a little fast to catch up with them as she nervously looked at the tall trees. Where in the world are we going? A forest is creepy..., she wondered as maneuver her feet around some large rocks to try to avoid a trip. She continued to carry the large bag with medical supplies as she followed them, listening to them talk.

Stran stopped. "Hold." He stated. It was more of an order, than a request.

He turned 180 degrees. "This is not the way we came. Yet, it is. Both at the same time. Illogical." He said, taking in the appearance of the area behind them.

"Are you sure you know what you are doing?" Jason said as he stopped. He glanced at the nurse behind him and back to the Vulcan.

"Look for your self." Stran said. Humans. Why do they always have to argue. He added, in thought.

The trees look the same to Jason as he looked around. "Don't tell me we are lost, Vulcan. Hopefully there is a pond somewhere, we could sit down and go fishing."

Yvette giggled, "Fishing? I like to go swimming, but I wouldn't do that here. What if the water is dirty?"

"Almost all the lakes are dirty where I come from...South Dakota. Still, you fish and cook it. The cooking kills any germs," he said to her. "I wouldn't mind go swimming."

Stran remained impassive. That tree. It was supposed to be there. The other tree, over there. He turned around again. The direction they were heading was no longer present.

And, quite naturally, the humans neither noticed, nor cared.

"There are more pressing concerns, I believe." Stran noted, not expecting either to pay attention to him.

Jason looked at the Vulcan, seeing that he keeps looking at the trees. "Well, what's the problem, Stran? They all look the same to me. Let's just keep going in this direction that we were heading to. Look on the ground, there is our footsteps in the dirt," he pointed to the ground as he glanced at the nurse. He continued his conversation, "we had plenty of forests in South Dakota and I had a tree house built on the trees when I was a kid."

"Sounds like fun," Yvette said as she looked at the footsteps on the ground. "We had some mountains in North Carolina where I came from."

Stran quirked an eyebrow. "If you do not wish to follow my advice, I will spend my time better." Stran said, shaking his head. He looked down at the tricorder. "In fact, I shall sit right here, and attempt to fix my tricorder. Have a safe walk."

"Whoa! I'm not leaving anybody behind. Maybe your tricorder doesn't work in this kind of environment," Jason said. "You appeared to show that we are lost. If you look at the ground, there are foot prints. We came from that way," he pointed.

"And yet, look at it. The trees are not where they were." Stran noted.

"So, you are saying the trees can walk and move to a different location? We must be walking into a twilight zone...", he looked to where Stran was looking. "If the trees displace themselves...maybe we entered a time zone. We would be in big trouble if our ship is gone."

"Sir, we have a problem," Nurse Jaynes said as she approached them. "A small pond just reappeared over there."

Stran shook his head. "Have you tapped your comm-badge? Checked your tricorder?" Stran drew his phaser, aimed it at Hart, and fired.

Bzzt.

"You are not unconscious. Something is wrong. Instead of disappearing all over the countryside, perhaps we should go find the others?" Stran asked.
