Mission:
The Forests of Mythraeli
Location: Brig
Alexandra was getting bored of the brig. Her cell-mate wasn't talkative today. He usually wasn't. One of the security officers who was arrested, after Kyt uncovered Jaxara's "insurance" files. This one, in specific had been thrown in, after Kyt's digging had confirmed Jaxara's suspicions: The man had a rather falsified past.
The forcefield lowered, and another was placed in the cell, by a Vulcan male.
"Lire." Chief Warrant Officer Winchester said with a nod.
"Psycho lady." Lire said in return.
"At least she isn't under arrest for falsifying investigations." The Vulcan male said with what could almost pass for distaste.
Lire shot him a dirty look.
"Do not give such disparaging looks. You are the accused criminal." The Vulcan added.
Winchester chuckled. "Sounds like I've got a bunk mate for my trip to some penal colony somewhere."
"Keep it down, ladies. Some of us are nocturnal." The man appearing to sleep muttered from the bunk on the far wall.
"Shut it." Winchester retorted. "I've had enough of your whining. I've been in here longer than you. At least you know who's replacing Jaxara, not that it matters to any of the three of us anymore."
"There's a few candidates." Lire muttered. "A gunny, an Ensign, and a Lieutenant Junior Grade, or two."
"A Gunnery Sergeant?" Winchester asked, unsure she understood the abreviation used. "Like, a marine officer."
"Bajoran woman. Kym. Klyp. Kyp. Something like that. Seems to actually have had some kind of respect for Jaxara. At any rate, she's been going out of her way, while she waits for a proper marine assignment, to help out in security, and she's got a PADD, signed by Jaxara, prior to his death, requesting that she replace him. Though I understand her, and Major Raine don't necessarily get along." Lire said, as she stretched out on the third of four bunks.
"Makes sense why she'd put her transfer request in. I remember reading it, and recommending it to Jaxara, before he had me put in here." Winchester said. "Good woman. Tough circumstances, a few years back. She deserves a second chance."
"Hah. Nobody gets second chances. The universe isn't that nice." Lire muttered.
"It is, if you are innocent of the charges that put you behind bars for five years." Winchester countered. "I can't say I necessarily blame her for wanting a slightly different line of work."
"What about your boy-toy. What's his name... Danbell? Manuel? Danielle?" The man muttered from the bed. "He one of the contestants?"
Lire laughed. "Daniel. Or Daniels. Any ways, he seems to think she actually does belong as the Section Chief. Mind you, he was a bit more fond of Lieutenant Nutjob than the rest of the department."
Winchester scowled. "I'd deck you for that, but I'm too comfortable in this uncomfortable bed."
"If it's uncomfortable, how are you comfortable in it?" Lire asked.
"I've had a bit over a week to get used to it. That's how." Winchester said.
There was a muted silence. Then the brig cell's forcefield came down.
"In there, you." Kyt said, as she shoved someone into the Brig, who wasn't willing to go.
"Look, Tramira, I know you are still angry about that incident on-" The man started.
"This has nothing to do with over a decade ago. You stole various items from Starbase Typhon's promenade, including various alcoholic substances. That's a crime. You'll be remanded to Typhon's security, next time we're in the neighbourhood, just like your friends here." Kyt stated. "Until then, you'll be given food, and medical treatment, as necessary."
After Kyt left, and the security field buzzed back into place, Winchester raised an eyebrow. "That woman is wearing a Gunnery Sergeant's pips. Would that be the woman in question?"
"Gunnery Sergeant Tramira Kyt." The newcomer said with a nod. "I remember when she barely understood which way the phaser rifle was supposed to be aimed."
Winchester shook her head. "Do not dishonor an opponent's name, or abilities. She did put you in here, I remind you."
The man that was trying to sleep rolled over. "Y'all need to shut the h-e-double hockey sticks up right bloody now. I'm trying to sleep, so I can finish writing my statement of defense in the morning."
"We're not going back to Typhon in a bit, yet, Ensign." Lire said. "You may as well take your time."
"Computer, reduce illumination by 50 percent." Winchester said.
"You are not authorized to request environmental alterations. Please ask a brig officer for assistance." The computer responded.
"Well, looks like your SOL, Ensign." Winchester commented.
The man groaned and covered his face with his hands, and rolled back over.
